  1. There’s a new Netflix Series Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer which covers a serial killer of sex workers (and other women) in the late 70s/early 80s. It’s quite good.
  2. So…going by Nat and coach’s talk- are we to infer that Travis and Javi’s dad was checking out their boobs, or was she just noting that a young guy wasn’t being creepy? Also would/should there have been an adult female chaperone with the team? This is way before “me too”, but I didn’t play sports and have no idea how that works.
  3. Just going by looks Adam could be related to Lottie, though they haven’t shown younger siblings for her. We know her parents are wealthy, so I imagine a younger brother would have resources and free time to be a “starving artist” and stalk Shauna.
  4. I definitely detected a non-Texas (or Jersey for that matter) accent on Adam this episode. The actor Peter Gadiot is British (of Mexican/Dutch parentage) so that may help explain it? I was hoping Laura Lee would take the chance to jump out of the plane since she was over water, but not so much.
  5. This, exactly. Carrie’s a multimillionaire now, she could have gone ahead and hired a nurse and the girls could still stop by daily. Miranda was wrong and inappropriate, but Carrie’s tone was just…I would have left her in that pee.
  6. Well, I noticed in the love scene that Nat had let her armpit hair grow out, but her roots weren’t too bad.😂 Too bad they didn’t set this five years earlier when many of them would have had perms growing out to judge time.
  7. On the other hand- if Jeff needs the money and is smart enough to put together a blackmail plot, why wouldn’t he also accept the college money from Jackie’s parents, and maybe figure out how to skim some for himself? I don’t see him blackmailing his own wife and her friends, but being ethical enough to refuse free money elsewhere.
  8. I immediately thought of Jeff as the blackmailer too due his similar build. He was driving a dark silver Altima when Shauna tailed him to the hotel in episode 3 and the blackmailer had a silver car but I couldn’t catch the make, it looked newer than Jeff’s car though. If the river was so full of iron as to mess up the compass, wouldn’t they be downstream from a mine or some sort of manufacturing plant? The water looked like industrial pollution to me and the one girl said it smelled funny.
  9. Who schedules brunch on a Wednesday? Sooo much wicker in Jackie’s room. Ooof, always hated white wicker, and that whole Laura Ashley look. I’m assuming Jackie was an only child from the way her parents have kind of fixated on Shauna? It seems all the girls been shown to be onlies so far, a bit unusual.
  10. I must say I’m a little surprised that Shauna apparently rawdogged Jeff with the way our generation constantly had condom use/HIV prevention/teen pregnancy prevention drilled into our heads.😂 I’m going to chalk it up to them both being virgins at the time of the first hookup.
  11. The second season of the Power podcast is on Hugh Hefner, the episode with Holly’s interview just dropped today.
  12. The thing I find weird about Holly is- ok, so I’m two years older than her, and I only learned what Playboy is because I was a fan of Mötley Crüe and other hair bands, and all their wives/girlfriends were Playmates. And I discovered Howard Stern in summer ‘92 and he would always talk about Playmates. So I feel like if I looked like Holly my “goal” is to meet and marry Nikki Sixx or someone along those lines. The whole Hef relationship was like “Girl? What are you doing?”
  13. Agreed, I’m going to assume that after they were found, the relatives of the folks killed in the plane crash might want what’s left of their bodies retrieved for proper burial? I figure CSIs could tell if someone had been butchered unless they did a really good job of hiding those remains. If I recall correctly, we only saw the one girl burn up in the crash when they tried to rescue Van, the other crash victims appeared relatively intact. Unless they go so far as to dismantle the plane itself to help their cover story.
  14. Good episode. I hate how periods are always absent in TV/ movies aside from the drama of the first period or a missed period/ pregnancy scare when the average woman has hundreds over the course of a lifetime. So we now know Taissa and Van were a thing, and that Jackie is dead in the present. I could have sworn Misty and coach’s talk was going to be a dream sequence. Eek.
  15. I could have sworn she posted about getting her implants removed, but she still looks busty (but covered up) in recent Instagram photos. She might have gotten a little lip filler, but otherwise looks the same to me.
  16. Oooh, I didn’t even think of that! I wonder if he has nefarious intent or if she’s “the one that got away”? I kind of like them together- nice to see an average-looking by tv standards 40-something woman getting to have her fun. It was good to see Nat’s backstory. I had wondered why a “burnout” was on the team at all. I was class of ‘95 and the preppy athlete girls and the “smoking behind the gym” girls did not associate as far as I remember. I suppose the team gave her stability and maybe she had been close to some of the other girls when younger?
  17. Someone at Showtime must love Dinosaur Jr. too, “Feel the Pain” was on Dexter a few episodes back, and now on Yellowjackets, after rarely if ever hearing them on tv. 😊
  18. Did the show ever tell us where they were flying to for nationals? I’m assuming the Pacific Northwest going by the terrain. It’s also a bit odd that we haven’t seen any of the girls’ parents in the present day, since most would still be living. I wouldn’t mind getting a “how the town reacted to the crash at the time” perspective. The girls would have likely been on Dateline or Oprah upon their rescue- “missing white woman syndrome” times 10.
  19. Going by that super-fancy seaside rehab facility, I’m guessing she’s “rich rich”. Tech pioneer? Fashion designer? Musician?
  20. Just started watching and love the show!
  21. Love this show! Saw the movie back when it came out, and started watching when it was on Netflix a few years back. I started taking Italian classes last year so I was happy to find it on HBO Max. Currently on season 2 ep. 4.
  22. I thought it was a little off that rich upper East side folks would just be having “spaghetti” in the first place. 😂 From what I recall of the early 90s they would have bougied it up- pasta primavera, linguine, orecchiette, or whatever.
  23. I don’t love the flashbacks, but I am a bit intrigued at seeing how a sociopath chooses to parent. Like at what point did Julia stop idolizing Smurf, but yet the boys were attached well into adulthood?
  24. I was so happy to find this (and Cold Case) on HBO Max a couple weeks ago and have been binging. It was on Ion channel awhile back but then they switched to “all Criminal Minds, all the time”. After getting to early season 3, I realized why I stopped watching network TV- I just can’t with 24 episode seasons anymore, so I jumped ahead to when Martin got shot. So many recognizable guest stars- I think Steve and Harry from SATC guested a week from each other, heh.
  25. Good article on Ash’s murder case
