Personally, I think living a “low key” lifestyle is one of the smarter things they’ve done. It keeps the IRS and other Feds/cops away, and they don’t actually have to work hard, they just enjoy the passive laundered income and beachfront properties, and surf. Fancy cars and designer clothes with no legitimate income source are going to draw attention in that town.

Yes! Callum Kerr as Christopher is cartoonishly handsome like a blonde Superman or romance novel cover boy.😂 I’m surprised every woman in town wasn’t beating down his door. IMDB lists him as 5’11 and Max Irons as 6’2”, but I figured both for over 6’ onscreen.

I was pleased to see Yellowjackets get Emmy nominations- best drama, lead actress for Melanie, and supporting actress for Christina.

That’s true- Jason and Brian did have thick healthy looking hair. I guess recently we did have that “man bun” period, but I’m also not big into facial hair, so it was less satisfactory than you’d think.😂

I thought the 90210 guys were good-looking, but my 90s thing is I’m always attracted to long-haired men- hair band or grunge look, surfers, locs , it doesn’t matter. I was way more into Jordan Catalano than any of the 90210 guys at the time. 🥰I’m still sad that long hair on men never really made a comeback, even though Docs did. 😕

I was also wondering how the Cody’s acquired all their plumbing/ electrical/ carpentry/ trucking knowledge, did some of them attend vocational school when not surfing or lounging around the pool? 😂 I would think J at least would have a Ring camera feed to his phone, but it looked like the security system had not been updated at least since the beginning of the series. I guess Smurf is the ultimate “cool mom” until her job is messed up. I’m kind of surprised more neighborhood kids aren’t hanging around the house.

I loved “Zola”! It a was better than I expected it to be. I’m a fan of any kind of stripper/sex worker stories though. Has anyone else seen “Dancing at the Blue Iguana”? It’s an indie drama from 2000 that follows the dancers (at a primarily white L.A. club) home and explores their lives. Not as entertaining as P. Valley, but there’s some thematic similarity. I also love “The Player’s Club”- it’s become a camp classic like “Showgirls”.

I dunno, J’s kind of sexy to me this season. I guess because all the the others are so miserable and grumpy in comparison. I feel like if I had grown up thin and “hot” and had some different life options I’d totally have wanted to become a Playmate and date all my favorite rock stars. 😊 I feel like some of the anti-sex work mentality is rooted in classism. Yes, some of it. They appear to have used Playboy-era photos in that article, they were “big but proportional” in the 2019 video. I was a little surprised at their size on this show.

During the GND years and after, I believe the mansion was owned by Playboy Corporate and he was renting each bedroom for several thousand a month? So it might not have been technically “his” to refurbish, but you think they’d do the work if he complained enough.

I was thinking about this too, I guess there’s still a lot of social capital to being viewed as “hot” well into your 50s? I remember in my early 20s I attended a comic book/ horror movie/ heavy metal convention near the Meadowlands in NJ, and there was a former Playmate there signing stuff (no idea who) and she had a great body and was dressed well, but when you got close you could see the signs of age. Of course guys were still lined up, so once a Playmate, always a Playmate I guess…

Hef also has an older son David (from his first wife Millie) who stays out of the public eye. Apparently he has a computer company. If he ever writes a book, I’d be interested.
