Today was the first show of the Sacramento fall/winter season, A Christmas Story. It wasn't something that I was really interested in seeing, but it's part of the season ticket, so I went. Every one of the performers had an outstanding voice, including the boy Ian Shaw, who played Ralphie. The boy who played Randy, William Colin, was an excellent dancer. And Briana Gantsweg, who played Mother, and Christopher Swan, who played the father, were both outstanding.

It's not terrible, though there isn't anything new about it. Just battle porn. Though they do a job of trying to present the Japanese as sympathetic (in general). I do have to laugh at so many patriotic American war movies where their major characters are played by English actors.

There's an ad for some exercise machine with a woman who isn't Hollywood beautiful, although by no means grossly overweight. It shows her exercising in front of her floor to ceiling widows throughout the seasons, and then changing her diet, and then at the end of the "year" she doesn't look like she's lost an ounce. But at least she isn't so thin and gorgeous. ----- USAA Insurance is running an ad with their policy owner Martin whose house and car were damaged in a hail storm, and they're claiming that "USAA called him before he had a chance to check the damage." Really? Did USAA actually call all of their policy owners and say, "We hear there was a hail storm in your area. Did you have damage?"

We get these ads in California. There's one where the parents are outraged because their son's breath doesn't smell like Dr. Pepper after their team won and he was out celebrating.

Kayla's going to get Jack a room at the hospital? Is it a hotel now? Wanna bet murderous Hope doesn't get any consequences for her actions because she has mental issues, unlike Ben, who is equally as mentally ill and murderous? "It's freezing in here. Let's open a window." Uh, what?

I read that the spoiler that says that Kayla goes home for a romantic moment is interrupted by the return of Steve (in body, anyway). Yeah, but that means the return of Bonnie.

Why didn't mayor Abe perform the wedding service? Adrienne's dress was fugly. Jebus, they drew out this wedding thing, Did Justin and Adrienne have sex with their clothes on? And don't worry, Adrienne, there have been a lot of couples having sexy times on Maggie's couch.

I had several cousins living in Paradise at the time of the fire. They lost virtually everything. They got their insurance money and have moved to other places. Paradise High School's football team is undefeated this season and is moving on to the playoffs. They were on the verge of the playoffs last year, but they had to end the season because the kids' families had all scattered immediately after the fire.
