  1. Sadly, I've been pretty out of it this season. The only thing I liked was that the Three Bears Salon had human "bears" doing nails.
  2. Oh, I think I know that NRA ad. Really ironic. So Donald Trump will assure her right to carry a gun to defend herself against attackers...such as Donald Trump. Every NRA ad kills me because of their sheer fear-mongering that a Democrat in the White House will take away everyone's guns. Hasn't happened yet, and will never, ever happen.
  3. About this time, we're probably all getting weary of political ads, both national and local. Here's a place to let off steam. I'm in North Carolina, which is a big battleground state this year. However, the national ads here haven't been as bad as the local ads, where our Governor and one of our Senators is up for re-election, so we have a LOT of ads. HB2 is a huge issue this year, so not surprisingly, a lot of the ads have to do with sex. Well, to put it another way, while current Governor Pat McCrory tried to defend HB2 in one of his ads, that hasn't been working well, so you never see that one anymore. Now, there are attack ads against his opponent, NC Attorney General Roy Cooper. What attacks can they throw at him? Well, the fact that when Cooper took office, the SBI lab was a mess and cases were left to grow cold. I've seen evidence of Roy Cooper cleaning up those cases (well, I watch a lot of Forensic Files, but I also do my research). However, to the Republicans, it's not been quick enough. So, that's what McCrory's ad attack. Every woman in every Pat McCrory ad looks like they've been crying uncontrollably just before the cameras started rolling and say they don't feel safe, thanks to Roy Cooper...Say whaaat? In the Raleigh-Durham area, we have a pearl-clutching socialite worrying about a Gen-X "odd duck" Democrat getting into Congress. I want to think that one's backfiring, because of that ad, I looked at the candidate's Facebook page, and I agree with a lot of what he says. He also seems to be having fun with the "odd duck" label, and a lot of his followers have been posting pictures of rubber duckies to his FB.
  4. I wasn't sure, but since we all have at least two more weeks of ads, that's not a bad idea. Thanks!
  5. I wish there was a forum just for the local political ads. The ads in North Carolina are maddening. Luckily, I'm out of state for a week so I can catch a little break. Okay, sorry for the tiny off-topic rant, but every woman in every Pat McCrory or Richard Burr ad looks like they've been crying uncontrollably just before the cameras started rolling. And in the Raleigh-Durham area, we have a pearl-clutching socialite worrying about a Gen-X "odd-duck" Democrat getting into Congress. Can't wait to never see them again.
  6. Same here! I work from home actually tried to do it today around 2pm, but there were cars parked about a quarter mile away, and a lady walking back to her car said it was a 2 hour wait. Which is a good sign, I guess. I will definitely vote early, but I'll have to wait a little longer.
  7. Every time he says that, I'm sure what he really means is, "No one appreciates good T&A like I do. No one!"
  8. She has too much class to actually call him UnAmerican, which is exactly what he is when he threatens our democratic process.
  9. Donnie are you suggesting pay for play with our closest allies?
  10. He's seriously not backing down from his love of Putin??
  11. Bed Bath & Beyond now sell My Pillow. I've poked at the samples they have on display, but the filling is a little too lumpy for me. I do really like my Bamboo pillow, though. BB&B also has the Atomic Beam or something like it. I'm waiting until I get a $5 Off coupon in the mail before I get that or the Star Shower (which I'll use inside my apartment).
  12. As I was saying to a relative at the time (and unfortunately I've had to repeat to other relatives) plagiarism is bad enough. But to plagiarize the First Lady after the amount of criticism your husband throws at the president? That's a huge level of what-the-fuck-you've-got-to-be-kidding-me. I would say it's Andy Kaufman level of parody, but unfortunately, it's not. Barron, (sorry I missed the double r's there the first time). The kid is screwed unless Melania comes to her senses and takes him back to Europe.
  13. I just commented about Melania in the Donald thread, but she's really gotten under my skin now. She plagiarized Michelle Obama's speech and wore a "pussy bow" to the last debate. In 10 years, the Donald will be trading her in for a younger model. Melania's an idiot, and completely unfit to be our First Lady. I'd prefer Ivanka or Marla over her. On a related note, does anyone think about Baron?. That kid has had a sold gold potty since he was out of diapers. No way would he be happy in the White House. I can see it now. "Daddy, this place is a dump! I want to go to back to Trump Tower and my snow-leopard covered hobby horse!"
  14. Melania doesn't deserve any pity since she plagiarized Michelle Obama's speech. She's an idiot. Also, there's a difference between "when you're a celebrity, they let you do it" and being frozen from fear and horror when someone molests you. Fuck anyone who tries and defend this shit. Wait, no. there is no difference.
  15. I meant to watch that. Also good is The Choice 2016 on PBS. And, no, Donald hasn't changed one bit in 40 years.
  16. At the risk of being called as delusional as a Trump supporter, I can't help but think the GOP firebomb in Orange County is an inside job. I live in Raleigh, and I think of Hillsborough is a sleepy little community between Chapel Hill and Greensboro. I know people who live there, so I'm inclined to believe they lean more blue than red. However, I remember a recent story about a Hillborough church's rainbow flags that were stolen in the wake of HB2. There's vandalism on the right, too. North Carolina is a a hotly contested battleground state that is currently leaning towards voting Democrat this year. This bombing could have happened in any state, but it happens in North Carolina. Coincidence? Hey, if Trump supporters can discredit his accusers, I can discredit him for his accusations. Anyway, hopefully the federal investigations will find the real story out.
  17. Well, I'm happy for Alaska's win. I think she's worked her ass off since Season 5, and killed it this season. I don't know what was in her mind when she melted down, but it doesn't take away from the entertaining, funny queen I've been following for the past couple of years. She's still my queen for life. The bitterness from other fans have made it hard to be too happy for her, though. It's sad that during such a contentious election year, people need to throw accusations of rigged outcomes over a reality show involving men dressing up as women. (I'm channeling both Alyssa and Bianca here.) It's not personal, it's drag. I also love Katya with all my heart, but she's still a baby in some ways. She IS the NEXT ALL STAR. Detox managed to exceed my expectations, so good for her. Roxxxy is a beauty and convinced me she's not a complete bitch (and actually pretty sweet) so good for her too. Side note, I identify with Katya's anxiety, and someone told me to do the same thing as she said. Give your negative thoughts a name, listen to it, then push it away. Mine has had several names, but Buela was one of them.
  18. That's literally all Jed has at this point. All of the rest of the alt right talking points have been debunked. The emails are just crumbs now.
  19. Neil deGrasse Tyson needs to be on every week. I also enjoyed Tim Kaine and Anne Holton, but why does Jed always feel the need to bring up her same, tired talking point about how no one trusts Hillary Clinton?
