  1. Rian Johnson Breaks down the Arrival scene in Glass Onion
  2. Jupe monetized his trauma instead of dealing with it. His skewed perspective that he had some sort of special connection with Gordy let him lie to himself about the risks with Jean Jacket. He wanted to believe he had some sort of control over the situation but he never did.
  3. I finished reading Bonds of Brass by Emily Skrutskie. Ettian lost everything when his planet was taken over by the Umber Empire. As a child he lived on the street after losing his parents in the Umber take over until the Empire gave him the opportunity to go to school. Accepting that his planet is lost Ettian tries to move on and be the best at the Umber military academy until a shocking assassination attempt on his best friend Gal. This event leads Ettian to discover Gal is the heir to the empire that made him an orphan. Ettian is torn between his growing romantic feelings for his friend and his buried loyalty to his home planet. I really enjoyed this book. I thought Ettian’s struggle on whose side to be on made sense and the conflict of romance mixed with distrust was compelling. I’m on board with this trilogy and will be reading the next book. Now I’m reading The Kiss Curse by Erin Sterling which is the sequel to The Ex Hex. It’s a romantic comedy enemy to lovers story. Gywn is annoyed when her cousin’s brother in law Wells opens a magic shop directly across the street from her own shop. The rivalry leads to romantic sparks. Gywn and Wells have to team up when a new coven comes to town and magic starts not working as it should. So far it’s a fun read like the first book.
  4. How an incident at Hadestown connects to Patti Lupone’s tweet regarding her decision to give up her equity card. I feel a lot of sympathy to the hearing impaired Hadestown audience member who got yelled at for having a captioning device that was mistaken for a cellphone.
  5. I loved Stil Star-Crossed. I’m a sucker for an enemy to lover romance. So sad it got canceled. I think if it’d been on Netflix instead of ABC it may have had a better chance.
  6. I just finished To Catch Raven by Beverly Jenkins which is the last of her “Women Who Dare” historical romance series. Raven comes from a family of con artists trying to overcome racism and poverty by their schemes. Brax grew up wealthy and an upstanding figure in his community. Blackmail by a corrupt Pinkerton detective forces Brax and Raven to work together in an undercover operation pretending to be married and find a lost original copy of the Declaration of Independence. This was an entertaining romance and I hate to see the series end. Raven’s family is large and full off people who I would love to see branch off into their own series. I could easily see cousin Lacie or Renay being featured in a romance of their own. Then there’s the cousin who is passing as white to go to medical school and as a result has had to distance himself from the family. So many stories could come from these characters.
  7. @aradia22 Great Broadway discounts on this website https://www.todaytix.com
  8. How is Lea Michele Doing in Funny Girl? Reviews for the show as a whole are mixed but Lea’s getting raves. I really hope she’s changed and is treating her cast mates more professionally.
  9. I’m halfway through Fairytale by Stephen King. Teenager Charlie saves his cranky recluse neighbor Mr. Bowditch with the help of Bowditch’s dog Radar. Charlie commits to helping him through his recovery due to a promise he made during an extremely difficult time in his life. There’s something in the shed in the yard of Bowditch’s house that leads Charlie on a perilous journey. King really takes his time with this one letting us get the to know the characters well before the adventure begins. I think the set up could have been trimmed a bit but I am invested in Charlie’s journey.
  10. The former coworkers coming forward to say they aren’t surprised by the current scandal with Ned of The Try Guys makes it clear there was something inappropriate ongoing with him for years. So it seems like an open secret so apparently lots of people knew and no one told his wife. Or does Ariel know and she and Ned have an understanding? So Alex’s fiancé Will saw something on her phone in December 2021 that made him realize she was cheating with Ned. He confronted her and Ned about it. He gave Alex a second chance on the condition that the affair ends and he didn’t tell Ned’s wife Ariel. So recently were recorded making out in a club and at a Harry Styles concert. So they handled getting caught in 2021 by being even more careless in public. Someone sent the video to Will and this time he didn’t keep quiet. He sent the video to Ariel and the story went public.
  11. I finished reading The Viper by JR Ward which is the 3rd book in the Prison Colony which is a spin off of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I think I like this book the best of the Prison Colony series. I still think the Black Dagger Brotherhood is my favorite portion of this Universe Ward has created. I mainly read the Prison colony books because of their connection to the brotherhood and so characters from that series are a draw for me. Near death Kane and his friends manage to escape the prison colony. Kane is made an offer that will safe his life but there are unexpected consequences. Kane risks his new found freedom to return to the prison camp to rescue Nadja the nurse who took care of his injuries who he’d bonded with. Meanwhile the Brotherhood is determined to shutdown the colony but is struggling to find it’s location. I was thrilled to see the subplot with Payne and hope we see more of her in a brotherhood book. They seem to be building up to something dramatic for her. There are so many characters now but some of them get lost in the shuffle. It’s been a while since Payne’s been a focus.
  12. Ned from The Try Guys has been fired for having an affair with an employee. He who has this wholesome family man who adores his wife persona cheated on his wife who works for their company with an employee of the company who is also engaged to another employee of the company. So this is the ultimate “Shit where you eat scenario”. I love their YouTube channel and had a soft spot for Ned. This situation made me realize the power of parasocial relationships because I felt so shocked and upset even though these people are all strangers to me. Making out at a concert where people who carry cellphones with cameras recognize you was shockingly stupid. If you can’t be faithful at least be discrete. I feel for his wife.
  13. I just finished American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird. It’s an engrossing in depth exploration of his life. It’s shocking to the illegal tactics that were blatantly used to destroy him. He was complicated. He was revered by some, villainized by others. He could be an amazing mentor but could arrogantly go on the attack. He was brilliant but could do surprisingly foolish things.

  15. I just finished Project Duchess by Sabrina Jeffries. When Duke Grey’s mother becomes a widow for the third time, he reunites with her and his half-siblings for his step father’s funeral. Beatrice is the cousin of Grey’s brother Sheridan who his mother has taken on as a project. The hope is help Beatrice debut in London and get a husband because her family has not provided for her financially. Both Grey and Beatrice suffered traumas in their past that make trust difficult for them. As they grow closer, Sheridan’s suspicions about how his father died present an obstacle to their romance. This was okay but I found I was more interested in the side characters than the leads. The question of the suspicious death is not fully resolved and gets more complicated at the end. I’m genuinely curious about what exactly is going on and so will probably continue with the series eventually.
  16. KEITH! I love the Try Guys YouTube channel. I saw Into the Woods on Broadway finally. It’s one of my favorite musicals ever. I watched the pro-shot of the original cast a million times growing up. So my expectations were high. I wasn’t disappointed. It was such a great time. The cast did a great job and I didn’t mind the bare bones staging. One thing to movie didn’t get was the humor but this production had that perfect combination of heart and humor.
  17. I read Wild Sign but missed the connection. So thanks for clearing it up. I agree the Warren stuff did feel manipulative. I was really worrying something serious was wrong. Still the resolution was humorous and sweet. The build up made it more than it should have been. The Sherwood reveal was interesting. I’m really curious how the group dynamics will be impacted especially with Warren and Darryl. That was just glossed over and we didn’t get to see the pack as a group react. But it’s an ongoing story so it makes sense that everything isn’t perfectly wrapped up.
  18. I just finished Soul Taken by Patricia Briggs . Supernatural people are going missing and dead bodies are turning up. Mercy and Adam’s pack are being blamed. I thought the resolution was clever but abrupt as far as how Mercy handled the disposal of an ancient artifact. I love the world of this series. There were some hints at stories to come because Mercy’s decision regarding a the artifact will probably have consequences. Also there’re hints of something being up with Samuel that I am guessing is going to be dealt with in the next Alpha and Omega book. I really am curious about what’s going on with Samuel.
  19. Fans can be predators too. The current situation with Social Media Star/ Musican Gabbi Hanna is disturbing. Fans should not be able to so easily look up a celebrity’s address and go in their home. It was making me think of Rebecca Schaeffer. He could have done anything to her. She’s clearly not thinking clearly enough to protect herself. Or maybe she assumes she’s safe because the phone camera’s on constantly filming everything. Either way him looking through her things like her medication and filming it for his followers is creepy as hell.
  20. Britney Spears posts 22-minute audio addressing conservatorship
  21. There’s an article going into more detail on the situation.
  22. The video seems to contradict her claim she fired him. It looks like he wanted out and she was trying to make him stay on the film.
  23. Wilde claims she fired LaBeof but it looks like he quit.
  24. I just finished the romance The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun. Romantic Dev is a producer on the long running reality show Ever After and cynical Charlie is the current season’s Prince Charming. Charlie is a tech millionaire whose reputation needs some improvement so he can get back into his own company which he was pushed out of. The public sees successful handsome Charlie and it isn’t publicly known how socially awkward he is or how he’s come to believe love isn’t possible for him. As Dev works with Charlie to help him relax more Charlie starts to realize he’s more interested in his producer than he is in any of the women vying to the chance to be Charlie’s princess. Dev’s job and Charlie’s reputation are on the line. I like that it’s a slow burn and that a strong friendship forms before the romance really gets going. I like that the obstacles between the characters have weight. Both Dev and Charlie have things they need to work through to find their happy ending.
