  1. I just finished Project Duchess by Sabrina Jeffries. When Duke Grey’s mother becomes a widow for the third time, he reunites with her and his half-siblings for his step father’s funeral. Beatrice is the cousin of Grey’s brother Sheridan who his mother has taken on as a project. The hope is help Beatrice debut in London and get a husband because her family has not provided for her financially. Both Grey and Beatrice suffered traumas in their past that make trust difficult for them. As they grow closer, Sheridan’s suspicions about how his father died present an obstacle to their romance. This was okay but I found I was more interested in the side characters than the leads. The question of the suspicious death is not fully resolved and gets more complicated at the end. I’m genuinely curious about what exactly is going on and so will probably continue with the series eventually.
  2. KEITH! I love the Try Guys YouTube channel. I saw Into the Woods on Broadway finally. It’s one of my favorite musicals ever. I watched the pro-shot of the original cast a million times growing up. So my expectations were high. I wasn’t disappointed. It was such a great time. The cast did a great job and I didn’t mind the bare bones staging. One thing to movie didn’t get was the humor but this production had that perfect combination of heart and humor.
  3. I read Wild Sign but missed the connection. So thanks for clearing it up. I agree the Warren stuff did feel manipulative. I was really worrying something serious was wrong. Still the resolution was humorous and sweet. The build up made it more than it should have been. The Sherwood reveal was interesting. I’m really curious how the group dynamics will be impacted especially with Warren and Darryl. That was just glossed over and we didn’t get to see the pack as a group react. But it’s an ongoing story so it makes sense that everything isn’t perfectly wrapped up.
  4. I just finished Soul Taken by Patricia Briggs . Supernatural people are going missing and dead bodies are turning up. Mercy and Adam’s pack are being blamed. I thought the resolution was clever but abrupt as far as how Mercy handled the disposal of an ancient artifact. I love the world of this series. There were some hints at stories to come because Mercy’s decision regarding a the artifact will probably have consequences. Also there’re hints of something being up with Samuel that I am guessing is going to be dealt with in the next Alpha and Omega book. I really am curious about what’s going on with Samuel.
  5. Fans can be predators too. The current situation with Social Media Star/ Musican Gabbi Hanna is disturbing. Fans should not be able to so easily look up a celebrity’s address and go in their home. It was making me think of Rebecca Schaeffer. He could have done anything to her. She’s clearly not thinking clearly enough to protect herself. Or maybe she assumes she’s safe because the phone camera’s on constantly filming everything. Either way him looking through her things like her medication and filming it for his followers is creepy as hell.
  6. Britney Spears posts 22-minute audio addressing conservatorship
  7. There’s an article going into more detail on the situation.
  8. The video seems to contradict her claim she fired him. It looks like he wanted out and she was trying to make him stay on the film.
  9. Wilde claims she fired LaBeof but it looks like he quit.
  10. I just finished the romance The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun. Romantic Dev is a producer on the long running reality show Ever After and cynical Charlie is the current season’s Prince Charming. Charlie is a tech millionaire whose reputation needs some improvement so he can get back into his own company which he was pushed out of. The public sees successful handsome Charlie and it isn’t publicly known how socially awkward he is or how he’s come to believe love isn’t possible for him. As Dev works with Charlie to help him relax more Charlie starts to realize he’s more interested in his producer than he is in any of the women vying to the chance to be Charlie’s princess. Dev’s job and Charlie’s reputation are on the line. I like that it’s a slow burn and that a strong friendship forms before the romance really gets going. I like that the obstacles between the characters have weight. Both Dev and Charlie have things they need to work through to find their happy ending.
  11. The Umbrella Academy : Footloose Dance Off
  12. Sometimes a movie does a fantastic job with the adaptation like “The Princess Bride”. Changes were made but it worked brilliantly.
  13. I just finished The Hunger Games . I have been wanting to read it for a while but waited so the movies weren’t as fresh on my mind. I found the book even more compelling than the movie. There were moments when I did visualize characters as the movie ones but for some like Peeta I was better able to get an understanding of him in the book. He’s a tricky character who Katniss can’t figure out until the end. He’s capable of great kindness but can also be manipulative. He’s much more interesting in the book. I think the Katniss of the book had more nuance as well. I looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
  14. I had difficulty finding outfit photos from that movie as well.
  15. I’ve been hoping Kit would get a book for the longest time.
  16. I just finished it and didn’t see the reveal coming because I had a different theory for Ivan and had an mistaken idea about who his father would turn out to be. The world of the Psy/Changling/Human Trinity has become so large. I really love this series.
  17. Logan Paul’s criticism is interesting because he’s the real world example of what the movie is about and he just doesn’t recognize that. The Social-Media Star and the Suicide Logan Paul’s Nope Review is a Lesson in Media Literacy
  18. Idris Elba's Refusal To Hire His Daughter for Film Sparks Debate I don’t think you should hire your kid if you have reason to believe they aren’t right for the part. The critics and audience would eat her alive. Better to use connections to get her a part where she’ll show her best work.
  19. France: Parliament Adopts Law to Protect Child "Influencers" on Social Media This is from 2020. I hope the US catches up and also creates these type of protections for children on social media. I like that the child’s income gets put in a trust if parents are monetizing their videos/pictures. I also like that the child can demand videos/pictures including them be removed from online platforms even without their parents consent. I found out about the French response to family vlogging for profit from this YouTube video. Anything for Views Parenting A family vlogger who got in trouble with the law for the abuse they put their kids through is now back online . He found a loophole around the ban against him having a family channel.
  20. Currently reading Abandoned in Death by JD Robb. The story is compelling but the flashbacks to the past were particularly interesting because we got a clear picture of the motive very early on in the book. When I finish this one, my next will be Storm Echo. I love the Psy-Changling series and particularly enjoy the Merchant Family.
  21. I think something needs to be done about parents exploiting their kids for profit online. Not enough is done to protect child stars on tv and movies but at least there are some protections. Kids of family vloggers have zero protection. There’s a TikTok Mom posting suggestive videos of her daughter.
  22. I just finished historical romance Wild Rain by Beverly Jenkins which is second in her “Women who dare” series. A reporter for a black newspaper comes to town to do a story on Spring’s brother Colton who is a doctor. After being forced out of her home when she was a teen during the winter by her grandfather after refusing to marry his friend Spring was forced to make hard choices to survive. Now as an adult Spring depends on no one and runs her own small ranch. Proper Garrett is surprised and impressed by Spring when they meet. Someone dangerous from Spring’s past come to town endangering her and Garrett.
  23. Vaccination wasn’t required but masks were mandatory. Titanique is closing towards the end of September.
  24. I just saw Titanique the musical parody of Titanic and it was hilarious. https://titaniquemusical.com
