I totally agree with this. I think Kyle is terrified that Kim is spilling ALL of the dirt to Brandi and she has no control over it. I'd be afraid of Brandi having that leverage as well. As much as Kyle annoys the f*ck out of me, Brandi is such a vile person, that it's impossible to support anything she says or does. Brandi is an evil bitch!

I wish Zach had said this as well. And I think he was mad at himself for not doing so, and that's why he lashed out at Jonna (among other reasons). Exile Island or whatever, is tailor made for Bananas; almost as if producers planned his early elimination all along. I have no doubt that he and Nany will be the team that comes back and ultimately makes the finals, if not winning the whole thing. And I kind of hate the idea of it. Oh well, it should be interesting to see the dynamics of the house and the strategy that plays out in the weeks before the exiled team comes back.

I'm positive that Brandon is at least 17. He was 16 when the show first started and he is a senior in high school. The twins are 15. And Callie is 16 because she's three years older than Jude who is 13. Not sure why this information is in my brain, but there you go. Boy did this bug me last night in regards to Hayley. Jesus breaks up with her and she takes off (presumably for home) and Stef/Lena just casually take Jesus' word that Hayley was going back and that her mom was home. Ohhhkay, but they're not going to call Hayley's mom and check? And don't get me started about Wyatt. This boy was in their lives, and like people have said, Lena is the vice-principal at his school; why aren't they more concerned?! But overall I really enjoyed last night's episode. Stef and Lena continue to have one of the best marriages portrayed on television.

Eve's Marathon Diary: Who Are You People And Why Should We Care?
Kat replied to Primetimer's topic in The Wire [V]
I know I'm in the minority, but Season 2 of the "The Wire" is actually my favorite of the series run. I look forward to your thoughts as you watch. -
Damn Drogo, way to bring me to my knees with that CT/Diem gif. TEARS! I put watching this episode off until last night when I knew I could have a full-on weep fest and not disturb anyone but my cat. So damn sad.
-
For once Brandon didn't bug me. He actually handled Callie perfectly, I thought. Sophia scares me you guys. And I know it's dumb, I got ridiculously excited seeing Wyatt in the previews for the next episode. Alex Saxon's hair for president!

The ass-crack papertowels! Oh, this show is so brilliant.

You guys? This Diem stuff is KILLING ME. I burst into tears when she said that she thought the stomach pains were from something she ate. Heartbreaking. No matter how much of an ass he is, I just can't stop loving Zach. I know it's a problem.

I hate Ben! That is all.

Agreed! I was so pleasantly surprised how much I liked Agustin. I'm very worried for Patrick's heart...it's going to get smooshed one way or another with this whole Kevin thing.

My Husband's Not Gay (TLC)
Kat replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Specials, TV Movies & Other One-Offs
This advertisement, and its tone-deaf homophobic tones made me so so angry. I pretty much watched this show with my mouth hanging open in shock for the entire 60 minutes. It just left me feeling incredibly sad for everyone involved. Pret and Megan seem like they maybe have the best shot of coming out this whole thing without being too damaged, and maybe the couple who've been married for 20+ years. Did anyone notice if they made mention or showed any photos of that long-married couple having kids? They may be empty-nesters. I'm actually relieved to find out that this mess isn't a series. I don't think I could handle the sadness. -
I'm going to this. I'm still so pissed about missing out on Hit List; there's no way I'm missing this.

Rainbow is currently in my top ten list of favorite TV characters.

I've seen Ginger Minj perform live and she was a hoot! But I've been burned by that "in person" likability in past seasons.
-
Completely agree! I think that killing off Carrie and Saul (as much as I love Saul) is the right thing to do, and while I'm sure they're going to have them live, I wish they'd have some guts to end their lives in this way. I think it would be a much more satisfying end to this season to have Quinn (and maybe even Lockhart!) go all rogue-agent in the embassy against Haqquani and his men.

Yes yes YES! Best news this week.

Death Comes To Pemberley - General Discussion
Kat replied to photo fox's topic in Death Comes To Pemberley
Fellow anglophile here! I thought the casting was brilliant. But that's about all the compliments I can give regarding this mini-series. Eh, that's not exactly right. I thought the acting was great; everyone did well with the story they were given. I guess I wish I hadn't read the book (which I loved) first. The writers for the mini-series changed SO MANY THINGS. I'm not talking about just cuts to make it fit into a 3-4 hour series; I don't care about the fact that they cut out most of the Jane stuff and that we had no Bingley; it was good that they made Alveston, Wickham's lawyer and cut out the nonsense with the priest. My problems were the HUGE changes they made with the main characters in terms of manner, temperament, actions, and feelings. Darcy and Elizabeth don't fight in PD James' book. They're loving and supporting of each other. Colonel Fitzwilliam was made out to be way more of an asshole in the miniseries than he was in the book. Also, in the book Georgiana does not accept his proposal! There is no proposal; Fitzwilliam just hints that he wants to make one. Another big problem I had with the miniseries was that Elizabeth pretty much solves all aspects of the mystery single-handedly. Again, if I watched this without having read the book, I think I probably would've enjoyed this part. I love Anna Maxwell Martin, and it felt like they were working off of the Bletchley Circle success and deciding to put Elizabeth's character in the center of things, which, fine. But her taking Will Bidwell's confession, going to the judge, and then running through the crowd and up onto the excution platform to stop Wickham's hanging? Are you kidding me?! So ridiculous. If they want Elizabeth and Darcy running around solving mysteries "McMillan & Wife" style, they should have adapted one of Carrie Bebris' awesome 'Mr. and Mrs. Darcy Mystery' books instead. I'm totally on board for that to happen - those books are great and completely perfect for something like this. -
Thank you. Nolan should've said, "Hey asshole, if you want to be repaid back your initial investment I can make that happen, but slow your roll on all of this other bullshit." I really need all of these morons to get hit with a pillowcase filled with oranges. Also the writing on this show, never strong, has gone completely off the rails. And yet...I'm still watching, so who's the sucker?
-
Yep. That's pretty much how I felt after watching this episode. Right from jump this season, Carrie has been insufferable and I guess we're supposed to hate her? However, I care about everyone else around her so much that I keep watching this train wreck. I swear, if Saul or Quinn dies...
-
I loved the pilot, but then again I'm a sucker for anything that has Eliza Coupe or Maria Bamford in it. But I am seriously devastated to learn that "Playing House" probably won't get renewed. WHY? God! USA Network sucks!
-
Totally agree! Ken Marino/Jake is so far the weak link for me. Last night's ep was my first, and I felt the same afterwards as I did when I watched "Happy Endings" for the first time - hopeful, but a little weary. "HE" completely surpassed my expectations and I'm hoping this does as well. And it can't be said enough - the Soup song was effin fantastic.

S21.E09: The Guy Who Wows Betsey Johnson
Kat replied to Tara Ariano's topic in America's Next Top Model [V]
I really miss the days when this show occasionally had the photographers as guest judges so that they could provide important input regarding how the shoot went. Mirjana and probably Lennox would have gotten super low scores. I loved how Kelly criticized Shei's "look" as looking like a wig, as if the poor girl had any fucking control of it. TYRA chose her dumb hair style, REMEMBER?! -
S21.E08: The Girl Who Says It's Over
Kat replied to Tara Ariano's topic in America's Next Top Model [V]
How are fucking Keith and Adam still on this damn show? Tyra is the fucking worst, guys. Speaking of... I don't trust Tyra either. I thought that whole segment with her and the DNA guy in the fortune teller tent was bogus and 100% FAKE. This made me laugh for hours! Will is now the only person I care about on this show. -
I'm very excited about this show; which surprises me to no end. Say what, now?
