  1. Finally watched the first ep. Yikes. I'm not sure if my love for J&J and Tami will get me through this shite. Heh. Of course they do, as you said, especially Jeff. And he can be a champion shit-stirrer, which is why I think the producers of this crapfest ultimately signed him and Jordan up. But again, I unapologetically love Jeff and Jordan. I can't help myself. This: Jesus, show, get your shit together. Also totally agree with everyone else that springing Kendra's HORRIBLE garbage person of a mother on her was a terrible thing to do.
  2. I would rather Ethan and Vanessa remain very close, loving friends, who support and care for each other unconditionally. But, if Logan and TPTB of this show have other plans for them, I'm okay with that too. Josh and Eva's acting chemistry is off the charts. This. Also, "eyeball acting". Hee! Plus, when Brona and Vanessa met, Brona was so mortified/terrified that Dorian was going to say something about their previous "encounter", that she was a weird, nervous wreck who barely made eye contact with Vanessa. I also don't want a romantic thing to develop between Vanessa and John Clare, but I definitely want more poetry-share-time to happen. Sir Malcolm is so frustrating. At this point I'm chalking about his poor decision making to the spell that he is clearly under; although, did you guys see the look on his face after he was pricked the first time? Like he was remembering Vanessa, Ethan, and Lyle's cautions. However, I'm super pissed that he wasn't more careful BEFORE this, especially after Lyle's warning and the harrowing night they all had with the witches coming in terrorizing them and stealing Vanessa's hair. I would have immediately severed all ties (at least temporarily) with anyone that wasn't the core group (Sembene, Ethan, Victor, Lyle, V). I don't want Sir Malcolm to die, but if he has to sacrifice himself to save one of the others, I'd be okay with that. Sad, but okay. Man, the previews for next week look batshit! Can't wait. And as spaceghostess said:
  3. Ha!! LanceHunter that would've been awesome. And yes, one of the main reasons I quit the show after the first few eps was because I love Lee Pace so much and I couldn't understand what the fuck was happening with his character or why the writers/directors/Pace himself? were making those choices.
  4. MuuMuuChainSmoker I floved both "Silk Stalkings" and "Friday the 13th The Series". So many fond memories of watching both. I was never a fan of Eerie, Indiana though. But this mini is making me want to revisit it.
  5. Well, I gave up on the first sesaon after 3 episodes because it was so dumb. But I love the cast and truly want to see them all in quality work. I've heard from several sources that this second season is a complete overhaul of the show and that it's pretty great. So I guess I might give it a try again. This season 2 promotional photo is EVERYTHING.
  6. The fact that you guys are doing this rewatch and discussion makes me so damn happy! I loved this show. I even loved the much maligned second season more than the first. I cried actual tears when it was cancelled. I want Christian Borle to be my baby-daddy. I have purchased every single song off of iTunes, and I listen to them regularly. Yeah, I'm THAT person. Anyway, thanks for this. ALL of this.
  7. One of my all-time favorite guilty pleasures shows! Featuring half the cast of the underrated, no-one-watched-but-me-and-my-cat "Camp"!
  8. I have never watched one episode of this seemingly awful show before, but I am embarrassed to say that I will watch ANYTHING that Jeff & Jordan appear on, so I guess this show just got one new viewer? That being said, the only other couple I'm familiar with is Hank and Kendra, who repulse me, so I don't know if even my blind love for Jeff and Jordan will make this show palatable for me.
  9. I almost threw my 20lb cat at my television last night. This show angered me so damn much! F*ck! But I'm still going to watch every stupid minute of it. Sigh...
  10. I am anxiously awaiting these turn of events. I'm hoping that this also leads to more scenes with Vanessa and John Clare. I do too! And I have faith in John Logan; I'll happily let him lead me down whatever narrative road he wants. But I do think that eventually Dorian will become linked to Victor and "Lily". I'm also hoping that eventually they'll come up with a reason for Dorian to sing, because I love Reeve Carney's voice and would love to hear it again. Even though we're only 4 episodes into this season, I am so much more invested in seeing the villains get taken down than I was in seasson 1. I HATE Madame Kali and her creepy-ass dolls. I really need to see her suffer; and I hope we don't have to sacrifice any of our core monster-mash crew to have it happen. Or at least please don't hurt Sembene, Ethan or Vanessa show!
  11. I'm not embarrassed to say that I watched the part with Rick & Drew 5 times in a row. I love them so much. This was a wholly satisfying season finale. Except for the part about Scott performing the heart transplant. HE WOULD NOT BE DOING THIS SURGERY. Anyway, I'm interested to see where TC and Jordan go from here.
  12. Gosh, yes! I mean, I get that the writer etc are probably trying to keep Ethan's full background a mystery for as long as possible, and they most likely have a great plan all outlined for the season, but I really think the viewing audience would benefit from an episode dedicated to Ethan. And if they want to throw in another sex scene with him and Dorian? I certainly won't protest! I don't know why I was surprised at how awesome Patti Lupone was in this role, but she seriously made the character of the Cut-Wife come alive. I'm loving season 2 of this show already way more than I expected.
  13. Thank you Matt for your recap. Now I don't have to watch it. Also, I really needed that "crushing your butt" joke for a little levity.
  14. Boy, has "Creepshaw" ever earned his nickname. **shudder** I loved this episode from start to finish! And a good portion of why is because of Drake and Rose. FINALLY.
  15. This episode was so indicative of how the show has been for me this season. INCONSISTENT. On the shitty end of things: the Crash/Uncle Shay drug dealin' fam crapfest; Elizabeth and David's relationship problems and parenting skills; the character assassination of Taylor. On the good side of things: All of the scenes with Ofe. I am really loving Jesse Carere this season; Taylor and Grant's sibling relationship; Max's hair and the promise (and preview) of Crash's haircut! Sarah mentioned in the recap that she doesn't really see how this show can continue on the same course if the story isn't going to be about Carter's abduction or the aftermath. I'm still holding on to hope that the writers sort of have a plan(?) and can turn things around. There's a ton of potential here. I am NOT looking forward to all of the Lori nonsense next week.
  16. Katya and Violet's dance performance totally brought to mind the nightclub act from Victor/Victoria! I thought the judging and the results were spot on this week, which is rare. And I have adopted "Flah - Zay- Dah" permanently into my daily speech. I even used it in a meeting this afternoon.
  17. Oh, Revenge, I wish I had the strength to give up on you, but I only have to make it through two more crap episodes. Sigh...
  18. Heh. I needed this laugh after watching this episode. Most of the bad parts have already been pointed out; although it can't be said enough, just how bad an actress Caterina Scorsone is as Amelia. No. Just no. I'll focus on what I liked instread. THE GOOD: - Ellen Pompeo's acting: I have loathed her for 11 years for this season, I really think she's showing range and she's getting better at conveying emotion with just her eyes. - Alex Karev: You guys, I've loved Justin Chambers and this character since Season 1, episode 1. I don't even care if they get Maggie and him together. - The time jump: I really appreciated the pacing and timeline they set. I know I may be in the minority here.
  19. Oh, Ripper Street. You're like this sugar-high I don't know I'm addicted to or have been missing, until I start seeing ads for you while watching "Broadchurch", and my dvr magically knows when to start recording you. Yeah, count me as another who felt like their brain was doing catch-up trying to remember what happened last season. I did really like the 4yr time jump however. The show feels invigorated in a lot of ways. My deep affection for Jerome Flynn continues unabated; Bennet Drake is one of the best characters on television in my opinion. And although Reid as a character bugs the crap out of me, I really enjoy the way Matthew Macfadyen portrays him. Oh and I recently got to see a play that David Wilmot was in and that man looks one thousand percent different (and 30 yrs younger) without his Sergeant Artherton beard!!
  20. This is one of my favorite novels in the last decade and I'm very excited for this mini-series.
  21. Hee! Thanks for that giggle, Sarah. This show is so infuriating because it has SO MUCH potential. Every week there are always at least 5 or 6 scenes where I point to the tv and say "Look, right there, that was well done!', and then the very next scene will be handled so ridiculously that I hang my head and sigh. But I can't say that I'm not crazy addicted to this show and that I don't enjoy the hell out of it, so I guess I don't have a lot of grounds for criticism. And the power of Alex Saxon's beautiful hair is something to be feared.
  22. THANK YOU. It was great seeing Timothy Busfield and all, but he was WAY too old to be playing that role, and his fakey fake accent was grating. Overall this ep was enjoyable, but I continue to be so damn over TC and Jordan that I have to fast forward through any scene that's just the two of them.
  23. My friend is one of the dance coordinators and consultants on this show. I have been beyond excited about this for MONTHS.
  24. I rarely rewatch crime documentaries but I'm making an exception for this one. It was SO GOOD. Pamela Brooks is my fucking hero. And Margaret Prescod is pretty great too.
  25. I was so excited to see Jorah Mormont I think I squealed. Very un-ladylike. I just love Iain Glen so damn much.
