  1. I give Delilah a slight break because her heart is i the right place. But I think her military ambitions are not realistic. Didn't we learn that her mom HAD to go in the Army (as in enlist or go to jail)? As for the snarky bullies, I was expecting D to say something like:yeah, it's been a minute since one of my best friends was killed right in front of me and I was held hostage in an attempted robbery. Frankly, I was hoping Harry would f*ck up their lives via social media. But I'm petty that way. Just don't let Delilah become a venture capitalist! ;-)
  2. Yes, a "go to" Irish guy! ;-)
  3. Well, it seems like Harry's Secret Hideout is the same one Mr. Finch used in PoI!
  4. Janine is coming into her own at the District. She's doing the kind of work she's long wanted to do improving her school, and even dressing like a grownup. My sister is a school librarian (sorry, media specialist) with Masters' in library science AND early childhood education. She was laid off from her job at one school so they could hire an assistant to the principal (shades of Ava!) However, she has a strong union and was able to work at another school in the district. Also...a friend of mine is a retired Philly librarian, and has written a lovely novel called "The New Town Librarian." It's a good read. And as a native Philadelphian, it's WOODER ice. ;-)
  5. It was definitely a dumb move for the writers to make Athena worried about her life with Bobby. They've been shown all along as a couple that has learned to communicate well, works on their relationship and has fun sex. Not to mention that at least once a season they solve a major crime! So glad that Hen is acting captain: Chim was too nervous and second-guessed himself, and Buck could never be a captain in a million years. Eddie seems to be leaning into Zen Eddie, and I'm glad Buck was able to talk to Christopher. So glad my show is back! ...PS, in Buck's alternative life/dream, he was an elementary school teacher, and that's actually a job that could suit him. Because, you know, I'd NEVER forgive him if he sued me personally when a fire engine fell on his leg.
  6. It was definitely drugs, and that guy's not going to see his kids for a LONG time.
  7. Aww. New blonde midwife is being set up as NuTrixie. And Cyril saying he can mend his clothes...have they ever addressed why Lucille didn't come back? And NuLucille is definitely NOT NuLucille, what with her smokin' and not going to church! ;-) It was a stark reminder about the long-running effects of the Blitz/WW II when they described how the baby Sr. Julienne delivered was in an overcrowded shelter when the doodlebugs were coming down.
  8. I was also waiting for Eddie to say at the family dinner: "As the only person at this table whose father is a convicted felon, I'm sure glad you don't treat ME this way." (Presumably Eddie didn't lie about her father on her application.)
  9. When Joe asked the other officer how old he was when his dad killed Joe Reagan, and the guy said "14," all I could think of was how can you blame a guy for something his dad did when he was a kid. And Danny has a soft spot for kids who screw up, probably based on his own yout'
  10. I think Eddie was smart to get the woman who'd been raped out of there and to the hospital. She's seen the way cops close ranks behind one of their own. And I like how she's been developing a relationship with her captain, from how they worked on dealing with the shoplifting kid to the captain urging Eddie to report the dead rat in her locker. It's frightening when cops decide to give out their own version of justice AND when they feel like it's okay to mistreat someone they've arrested. Also, I liked the comment above about how Joe is a combination of Danny and Jamie. He's certainly got that Reagan asshole/entitlement gene!
  11. Loved Anthony playing "scared straight."
  12. So many questions... Starting with why Natalia's mother put her in an orphanage. Could she not take care of a child with a disability, or was she taken away from her mother. It's definitely implied that there was some abuse in Ukraine, and she was also with foster families. Then the first family that adopted her, the Ciccones, gave her the middle name of Lourdes, which is Madonna's daughter's name. I wonder if they were planning some kind of con, presenting her as a relative of Madonna. And it seemed like they were definitely "shopping" her to Little People, and trying to make money on the deal. I wonder if Natalia would have received the medical and emotional help she'd needed if she'd been placed with a family that understood her disability. And the Florida adoption was definitely skeevy. I know there are a lot of under-the-radar adoptions, and undocumented exchange of kids, especially kids with disabilities. (As mentioned above, some people want to take kids as an evangelical mission.) I do think Cristine wanted to make another "genius" and wanted to get rid of Natalia when she turned out to be of average intelligence. I also want to know where they got all their money, for the McMansion, the driveway full of cars, and 15 TVs (and sofas!) Were they living off the proceeds of their daycare center (a non-profit), or were they mortgaged/in deep debt? Certainly the money from the book was a big boost. But the lifestyle they aspired to, including the move of the whole family to Canada, was not sustainable on what she made with a one-time advance. Through all of this Natalia was being abused (I believe that), neglected, left without adequate medical care and therapy. And possibly pimped out. I hated the neighbors at the first apartment who called her evil, and beneath the exterior of Midwest Nice, were mean and suspicious. The re-aging was the most heinous thing. The Barnetts deliberately put Natalia out of the reach of children's services. I'm glad she found some respite with the Mans, but clearly didn't get any further treatment, particularly with her attachment disorder (which is a real condition) When she was finally adopted, the disorder could have kicked in. Tweaking could mean she's on meth (hillbilly heroin). Self-medicating. I don't see a recovery in her future, unless she can actually find the proper medical care, and has people who will put her care over their need to make money/get on TV. I do hope Michael ends up in jail. Kristine will probably continue to harm people. And what's Michael doing now for money? Or is he piling up debt on his new house and latest sports car? It's tragic.
  13. How long before Michael is hustling personal messages on Cameo. He's one of the creepiest people ever. I also think he will even end up in jail for some kind of embezzlement or another grift.
  14. I caught a rerun from last season, where Lenny showed up unexpectedly in NYC, and Frank found out he was dying of cancer. "Irish Exit." Brr. Prescient. (Though Treat Williams died in a motorcycle accident.)
  15. Apparently, Mayor Adams, who is an ex-cop, was micromanaging Commissioner Sewell's office to the point that he demanded approval of all promotions. It's a shame, because she'd done some good things, and crime was noticeably down since she took the job.
  16. Queen Latifah is getting a Kennedy Center honor! https://wapo.st/42W4ift
  17. Well, eventually I think he'll run into Danny Reagan! ;-)
  18. Anyone else think of this season finale when a truck ran into an interstate overpass, which then collapsed, in Philly?
  19. I liked the psychic, too. The actor was good, and she got different things out of Danny than his usual sidekicks.
  20. Sometimes with the patients, the bump is just the tip of the iceberg! ;-) Shoulder bump lady was very much afraid of general anesthesia, which is understandable. But she also came across as very controlling: both complaining about how her housework made her shoulder hurt AND how she was responsible for working full time and taking care of the kids & housework. If her husband really didn't help her, then he's another useless lump of fat. I love how Dr. Lee didn't believe the bump on the second lady's hand could be a pencil lead. As shown by all the people above in this thread, it happened a LOT when kids used sharp lead pencils to poke each other! Dr. Lee being her fun self, I loved that she wrote with the piece of graphite. Leg lady seems to be another person who has a lot more going on than just her skin condition. There are ways to combine both classic medicine AND alternative treatments. My mother used to do wound care and certainly went by the book in traditional treatment, but for stubborn wounds she would sometimes try things like Tea Tree oil and (believe it or not) Bag Balm. That stuff is GOOD. I feel bad for that woman and her son...she lives in NY State, so even if she's on a fixed income, she's probably eligible for home health care, which could come and treat her legs and change her dressings regularly...if she will let them.
  21. I think this is exactly what's going on with him. We can assume he continued his Zoom appointments with Doc Sharon throughout the season (we only saw them early on, but I am declaring that they continued). And he has a lot to work out. I hope Ted is continuing therapy (with a 7 hour time difference!) or Doc Sharon found someone good for him in KC. As much as he gave to AFC Richmond, Ted just got to where he found himself and has to spend the time and hard work on self-care. ...for the record, I don't think he's back with MIchelle, but they look like they are doing well co-parenting Henry.
  22. I realize that the wedding scene would have been better if TED had been the officiant. Who wouldn't want Ted to celebrate their wedding? And as weird and toxic as Beard and Jane are together, it's their choice to be together. Beard is a very strange man and would probably be bored in a more traditional relationship. (Also loved the bit at the very beginning where Jane was wearing one of Rebecca's blazers as a dress!)
  23. One delicious callback I noticed was that when McAdoo was set to take the penalty shot, Leslie moved his body protectively in front of his wife. Leslie still hasn't gotten over that McAdoo shattered the window of his office and made him spill tea all over himself.
  24. So a few weeks back, when they were in Amsterdam, I noticed they paid a lot of attention to a poster on the wall of the houseboat which looked like an antique KLM poster and I thought huh, what if hot guy is actually a pilot for KLM? Then I thought nah, they won't go there. But I did correctly call that Willis(!) Beard would not leave. And he and Jane getting married at Stonehenge is exactly the sort of wedding I think they would plan. I'm going to have to go back and watch it again to catch all the detail, but it seemed like Keely still hadn't chosen between Jamie and Roy. And Sam did make the Nigerian team? It wasn't quite clear whether Nate was an assistant coach again. But I think most of us felt in our bones that Roy Kent was going to be the next coach of Richmond. So many lovely moments in the finale. I teared up when the team sang So Long, Farewell to Ted. It was perfect. It was also great to watch the people outside of the stadium watching the final. I loved Doc Sharon jumping up and down on her bed. And that she is now a staff member at Richmond. And Rebecca's decision to sell 49% of the team to the fans follows on the theme that has been there very much this season, that the team belongs to the fans. One hopes they will do better than the Green Bay Packers. Oh, and Rupert's comeuppance was magnificent. Striding around like Darth Vader, and finally shoving his own coach to the ground. And as much of an ass as that guy has been the whole series, he refused to take out an opposing player.
