  1. Truth. Buck is a world-class idiot. That is his whole character. It has led to some interesting story lines, but I don't see him ever growing up. And as for his ambition to be a captain, he is SO not suited for the role. Everyone loves Buck because he has a good heart, but he also has no impulse control. I've accepted that that's the character, but IRL, I'd stay far away from him! ;-)
  2. Marisol had bought her own house and her idiot brother was doing insulation in the attic and got trapped there. The 118 came to help them out and after destroying her ceiling they all came back and helped fix it.
  3. I think Jessie Tyler Ferguson loved playing a baddie! And since the show shoots in NYC, I look forward to a lot of cool guest murderers. Also, if they are going to repeat detectives, I hope they bring Molly Price back. I've loved her since Third Watch.
  4. As Tommy and Buck were having their conversation, I said out loud: oh, just go ahead and kiss him! And then Tommy did. Buck reacted like Buck: just went with it, with no thought of what might happen next.

Or the heartwarming return of the shark whose life they saved!

    S07.E03: Capsized

When they found the mom stuck in the door, and Bobby grabbed an ax, I thought he was going to hand it to Athena and say: you've done a field amputation before... But seriously, never a dull moment, including the "who cares" team flying to the rescue! Like he did with the "proud Aspie" in the "bus through the skyscraper" episode. See, I pay attention!
  7. Well, just like Abbott Elementary has "cruise ship Barbara," 911 has "cruise ship Athena." So of course she travels with a knife and zip ties. And since she's in international waters, she can play fast and loose with her perps. ;-)
  8. Krause completely nailed that moment, and it was totally believable. Bobby has come a long way, but he will always blame himself for his family's death. And saying that he didn't deserve Athena, what a sad thing to say.
  9. I need a gif of Ava posterizing the first grader NOW! I laughed out loud and so hard.

    S07.E03: Capsized

There's got to be a morning after ..
  11. I love how the show went full "Poseidon Adventure," in the last few minutes. This is the crazy, whimsical 9-1-1 at its best. And when the big wave came, I paraphrased Bobby's thoughts as ANOTHER goddam tsunami? Seriously? As for Hen's actions, she behaved completely professionally, and even if they had examined the drunk driver and suspected a brain bleed, there wasn't anything they could do. Karen proved to be a wise counselor. As far as getting someone to pay attention to a missing cruise ship, doesn't the US have, I don't know, a Navy? They certainly have CIS in every port. Or, you know, the Coast Guard?
  12. I give Delilah a slight break because her heart is i the right place. But I think her military ambitions are not realistic. Didn't we learn that her mom HAD to go in the Army (as in enlist or go to jail)? As for the snarky bullies, I was expecting D to say something like:yeah, it's been a minute since one of my best friends was killed right in front of me and I was held hostage in an attempted robbery. Frankly, I was hoping Harry would f*ck up their lives via social media. But I'm petty that way. Just don't let Delilah become a venture capitalist! ;-)
  13. Yes, a "go to" Irish guy! ;-)
  14. Well, it seems like Harry's Secret Hideout is the same one Mr. Finch used in PoI!
  15. Janine is coming into her own at the District. She's doing the kind of work she's long wanted to do improving her school, and even dressing like a grownup. My sister is a school librarian (sorry, media specialist) with Masters' in library science AND early childhood education. She was laid off from her job at one school so they could hire an assistant to the principal (shades of Ava!) However, she has a strong union and was able to work at another school in the district. Also...a friend of mine is a retired Philly librarian, and has written a lovely novel called "The New Town Librarian." It's a good read. And as a native Philadelphian, it's WOODER ice. ;-)
  16. It was definitely a dumb move for the writers to make Athena worried about her life with Bobby. They've been shown all along as a couple that has learned to communicate well, works on their relationship and has fun sex. Not to mention that at least once a season they solve a major crime! So glad that Hen is acting captain: Chim was too nervous and second-guessed himself, and Buck could never be a captain in a million years. Eddie seems to be leaning into Zen Eddie, and I'm glad Buck was able to talk to Christopher. So glad my show is back! ...PS, in Buck's alternative life/dream, he was an elementary school teacher, and that's actually a job that could suit him. Because, you know, I'd NEVER forgive him if he sued me personally when a fire engine fell on his leg.
  17. It was definitely drugs, and that guy's not going to see his kids for a LONG time.
  18. Aww. New blonde midwife is being set up as NuTrixie. And Cyril saying he can mend his clothes...have they ever addressed why Lucille didn't come back? And NuLucille is definitely NOT NuLucille, what with her smokin' and not going to church! ;-) It was a stark reminder about the long-running effects of the Blitz/WW II when they described how the baby Sr. Julienne delivered was in an overcrowded shelter when the doodlebugs were coming down.
  19. I was also waiting for Eddie to say at the family dinner: "As the only person at this table whose father is a convicted felon, I'm sure glad you don't treat ME this way." (Presumably Eddie didn't lie about her father on her application.)
  20. When Joe asked the other officer how old he was when his dad killed Joe Reagan, and the guy said "14," all I could think of was how can you blame a guy for something his dad did when he was a kid. And Danny has a soft spot for kids who screw up, probably based on his own yout'
  21. I think Eddie was smart to get the woman who'd been raped out of there and to the hospital. She's seen the way cops close ranks behind one of their own. And I like how she's been developing a relationship with her captain, from how they worked on dealing with the shoplifting kid to the captain urging Eddie to report the dead rat in her locker. It's frightening when cops decide to give out their own version of justice AND when they feel like it's okay to mistreat someone they've arrested. Also, I liked the comment above about how Joe is a combination of Danny and Jamie. He's certainly got that Reagan asshole/entitlement gene!
  22. Loved Anthony playing "scared straight."
  23. So many questions... Starting with why Natalia's mother put her in an orphanage. Could she not take care of a child with a disability, or was she taken away from her mother. It's definitely implied that there was some abuse in Ukraine, and she was also with foster families. Then the first family that adopted her, the Ciccones, gave her the middle name of Lourdes, which is Madonna's daughter's name. I wonder if they were planning some kind of con, presenting her as a relative of Madonna. And it seemed like they were definitely "shopping" her to Little People, and trying to make money on the deal. I wonder if Natalia would have received the medical and emotional help she'd needed if she'd been placed with a family that understood her disability. And the Florida adoption was definitely skeevy. I know there are a lot of under-the-radar adoptions, and undocumented exchange of kids, especially kids with disabilities. (As mentioned above, some people want to take kids as an evangelical mission.) I do think Cristine wanted to make another "genius" and wanted to get rid of Natalia when she turned out to be of average intelligence. I also want to know where they got all their money, for the McMansion, the driveway full of cars, and 15 TVs (and sofas!) Were they living off the proceeds of their daycare center (a non-profit), or were they mortgaged/in deep debt? Certainly the money from the book was a big boost. But the lifestyle they aspired to, including the move of the whole family to Canada, was not sustainable on what she made with a one-time advance. Through all of this Natalia was being abused (I believe that), neglected, left without adequate medical care and therapy. And possibly pimped out. I hated the neighbors at the first apartment who called her evil, and beneath the exterior of Midwest Nice, were mean and suspicious. The re-aging was the most heinous thing. The Barnetts deliberately put Natalia out of the reach of children's services. I'm glad she found some respite with the Mans, but clearly didn't get any further treatment, particularly with her attachment disorder (which is a real condition) When she was finally adopted, the disorder could have kicked in. Tweaking could mean she's on meth (hillbilly heroin). Self-medicating. I don't see a recovery in her future, unless she can actually find the proper medical care, and has people who will put her care over their need to make money/get on TV. I do hope Michael ends up in jail. Kristine will probably continue to harm people. And what's Michael doing now for money? Or is he piling up debt on his new house and latest sports car? It's tragic.
  24. How long before Michael is hustling personal messages on Cameo. He's one of the creepiest people ever. I also think he will even end up in jail for some kind of embezzlement or another grift.
