I'm thrilled that CBS is finally giving up on having a 10pm show during football season, so we don't have to fool around so much with our DVRs.

Now you've got me thinking about that 9-1-1 episode where a pregnant woman was on her way to the hospital and the car was struck by lightning or something and the baby POPPED out, and they had to find the baby, cut the cord, and get the woman out of the crushed car! Oh, and Buck got struck by lightning and died, but only for 3 minutes, and it turned him into a math genius.

Well, until Brexit, Poland was part of the EEC, and people could go to different countries to work without a lot of permits and visas (and a lot of Poles came to England and Ireland because there were jobs). I don't know how it is since Brexit, but the right wingers might be pushing to get everyone who's not a British national out.

Did we even see what he hit? Or did another car hit him?

I think we're heading into the final act: Ted is getting ready to take his leave, and we're seeing how he's changed the people he came to work with. Roy is definitely becoming the leader who will step into Ted's shoes. The press conference (when he finally showed up) was masterful, and he's allowing himself to show pleasure in his accomplishments. (Loved Beard fainting when Roy said something nice to the team.) HAIRY ASS! Coach Beard is still a goddam weirdo who probably wouldn't be able to get job anywhere else. (Joe Walsh better than Jimmy Page? COME ON!) And Rebecca is right about "the guy from Cream" (Eric Clapton, even if he is a racist anti-vaxxer). Will Kitman is kind of a smart guy, and he feels comfortable contributing. Rebecca is coming into her own full Boss Bitch. Keely's back to spending more time at Richmond (we don't know the status of her business, but if Jack had shut it down, I'm sure we would have heard about it). Jamie is still enough of a prick to be interesting, but has enough self-awareness to laugh at himself. Interesting that Isaac picked Sam to be captain when he wasn't there. It makes sense, but Sam is one of the youngest players...I guess it shows how they all respect Sam. And the Isaac/Colin scene at the end was sweet. I find it had to believe that Isaac is REALLY that clueless about gay people, but his making the effort was beautiful. I also wish we'd seen Colin coming out to the team...but I'm okay that we didn't. Also: Are you comparing being gay to being a Denver Broncos fan? What's a Denver Bronco? Side note: Ted must be loving the last couple of seasons for Kansas City in the NFL, and I'll be he LOVES Mahomes. Still don't care about Nate.

I felt bad for Long Island skin guy...while his condition was marginally improved with treatment, it didn't seem a LOT better. And he's probably got a lot of scarring from years of scratching. And it's sad that it's so hard for people to have decent dental health in this country. Being able to eat properly is hugely important to overall health. It also got to me that the neurofibromas (as Dr. Lee said) can be overwhelming, and it doesn't seem like there's any real treatment for them. A lot of rare diseases don't have a specific treatment, and people are left looking like all the previous patients that were shown.

I hope so too. A lot of the season-long arcs were paying off. Bentley and Brandy racing out of the buildings as the shooting went down was heart-stopping. And Brandy, at least, showed that she'd become a part of the community, and that the pilot project that put her there was working. (And the two of them work better as friends) The rookie cops showed that the Academy was not sending its best to East New York. I kept expecting Dempsey to bust out with something racist. They were also setting up the show for a season of a mayoral campaign, and Jimmy Smits was playing a long game...though you couldn't tell whether he knew it himself. The story about the homeless guy's murder was sad and well done, and Killian was not an asshole. Come back, show! Not just because you're an interesting police procedural, but because you create hundreds of jobs for New Yorkers.

Not to be That New Yorker, but FIT (where the boutique worker was a student) is a public school, part of the State University of New York, which means its tuition is a LOT lower than a private school (like Pratt). So her loans would not be the kind that cripple for decades, and NY State has help for students who stay in state. Quibble over. I think Dee is reacting like a middle-class teen encountering the subtleties of racism, classism, and how it will affect her in the adult world. Racism always an underlying theme on this show, so Dee's experienced it, and had her Aunt Vi and Mom to guide her, but as she gets ready to make her own decisions in adulthood, she has to experience some things for herself. She's 17 (or so) and going to have to parse her own way through the world for herself. As for the CIA mission, i felt like filler. Don't like Robyn being called "mall cop," which is f*cking disrespectful. The SIM was the McGuffin, and we got to see the Casablanca parting at the airport. Sweet. Also did not care about Mel/Harry and the house in CT. I don't believe they were ever that type, anyway!

Who called it last week? That Maddie would propose to Chim? Take a bow... And Buck the Ho had a lot of splainin' to do to his death doula darlin'. Who else predicted that Buck would end up raising the kid? I hope you're not right! They did that "whole relationship in flashbacks" thing with the guy who died of brain cancer and his wife...it was touching. (Not as touching when they did it with the gay couple who'd been together many years). I knew Bobby was going to take Adrienne Barbeau to her wedding because she complimented his hat. He's a sucker for firefighter flattery. Eddie's a dweeb. A good-looking one, but I just don't care.

I picked out the arsonist at his first appearance. And Jamie is a better detective than Danny. Didn't punch anyone, didn't throw anyone in a car trunk, just kept methodically asking questions, going through the evidence. Boring. ;-) And Eddie was right that she needed to avoid the appearance of conflict of interest. But it was all downhill after that. CCRB is somewhat toothless, and her union lawyer would have been all over the fake lawsuit. They didn't need Grandpa Teeth to come to the rescue. I do like how much Eddie has grown to love and trust Frank.

He's got the weight of the world on his shoulders...I remember that episode of The Crown where the Queen met with one of her titled subjects, who eventually renounced his title because he thought the idea of nobility was wrong. I wonder if they are planning something like that for Matthew.

On second watch: Susie's great day happens when she's playing with Harry Drake's clubs. Gideon Glick is listed in the credits, but I don't recall seeing him. Could he be the old guy with the beard in front of the Friars? If Joel really took the fall for the Mob, and didn't give anyone up, they made sure he was protected in prison, and he probably does have money stashed offshore. He probably made them more money than Midge would have. And Midge says she's "feeling nostalgic" in the video. That gives me a bad feeling...like she's getting her affairs in order.

Georgie is still in the garage? Since Meemaw is still making money with her three (two legit, one illegal) businesses, she could certainly pay her grandson enough to rent an apartment that's suitable for keeping a baby. Come on, Meemaw!

So Midge left Philip Roth at the altar??? I love the multiverse of this show. And while Susie turned into a monster...or did she? She actually remained loyal to everyone who was loyal to her. Maybe when you deal with monsters in show biz, you become one. (Susie only seemed happy when she was hanging out with the kitchen staff at the club. And she probably WILL keep her word and introduce them to the B-52s. Yes, and Susie learned to golf.) Harry Drake...Susie was the only one there at the end. She didn't just see Dinah as an employee, and we find out she's running Susie's New York office. Mike clearly grew to like her. She got Mike the break he needed, and he remembered it. AND she started a foundation in honor of Jackie. That's some love there. You have to give some credit to the person who put together 1) The French Connection; 2) An imaginary show that we all now want to see with Elizabeth Montgomery & Andy Griffith; AND 3) Jesus Christ Superstar. All in one day! Tom Cruise IS unfuckably short. It was Joel's choice to trade himself to the mob for Midge, in his never-ending quest for redemption. He knew what he was getting into. He knew where Susie kept the second set of books; he found his parents' second set of books in the first season. And because HE's a loyal guy, he kept Archie out of it. And Midge is still with Imogene, or "Dodie." I think Midge was right about everything she guessed when she confronted Susie: about playing casinos to take care of Susie's gambling debts. It was a great scene for both of them. Susie was clearly caught out, and Midge was remorseless. The only thing I wonder about is whether Midge's request for a reunion isn't because of something bad. Fingers crossed...

Of course Jamie's password was "password." Now, it's going to be JamieTartt. Rather than signaling a reconciliation between Ted & Michelle, I wonder if Ted's more pleasant exchanges with her are a precursor to them having a decent relationship post divorce. I think Ted/Michelle v2 would be a step backwards (particularly for Ted), but I'd like to see him be friends with his ex, and she with him. I also hope MICHELLE finally sees that Dr. Jake is an unethical prick. (And I really hope they are giving us a red herring with Ted pulling a green matchbook out of his pocket!) Isaac is a great captain. Roy knew what he was doing when he selected his successor. Henry looked a little sad and pale. Or maybe he's just really, really white. While I think Jack & Keeley are done, I don't know if Jack will pull her funding: if the company is doing well, it's not a sound financial move. Keeley is just another toy she played with and got tired of. Jack is off to the next shiny object. Having read on other threads that Juno was shooting a lot of other work, and that Brett has HIS show going ("Shrinking"), I wonder if that's why Keeley had her own not-with-the-team plotlines this season. We haven't seen as much of Roy except as a supporting character this season: though the glimpses of REALLY Dark Roy (the rope with red paint, his laughing at the dick-strings, etc.) are a little frightening. I'll be okay with it if Ted doesn't end up with anyone at the end of the season. But dear God, don't let Beard marry Jane! Bay-BEH!

I have had them too...it's stress/anxiety related. And I've also had tonsil stones, which are usually MUCH smaller, and come out in smaller pieces. My doctor called them "dead white blood cells" and since I'm an adult who never had my tonsils out, said unless they got really big, they shouldn't be a problem. (Apparently having your tonsils out as an adult can be extremely painful.) IRL, Jee would have swallowed the ring, and they would have fished it out of her diaper, but that's probably too much for TV. Or shoved it up her nose. Kids love shoving things up their nose. Speaking of the little dickens...when we saw Jayden hiding and eating candy, I thought: he stole it, knows it was wrong and was hiding from his mom. A few decades ago, it would have been worth a swat on the tush. Also, none of those people looked like they belonged in the same family. As for an actual Maddie/Chim marriage, there's definitely a strong argument, legally and and tax-wise for them to have it. (I was unable to be legally married to my wife for many years, but when we got the chance, we did it.)

A few years later, Terrence McNally wrote a play set in a gay bathhouse called "The RItz," which featured Rita Moreno as the resident girl singer!

We'll user test it and let marketing decide. ;-)

I have used European dryers. They don't f*cking work! ;-) that is, after a couple hours the clothes were only marginally dry. We always ended up hanging them over things overnight.

Well, Imogene is working for Midge in the '80s, so that's ONE relationship she's been able to keep. Joel in his late 50s/early 60s resembles Moishe in his mannerisms and speech. And hey, he's a grandpa to a little Israeli. Gordon Ford is the perfect blend of the good-looking, white bread late night host of the era. He'd never get arrested for using a bad word onstage. He's safe. And the guys at work seem to be getting used to Midge, bringing in school projects for Ethan and tipping her off that another comic stole a joke of hers. Love how Susie Marshals her troops (and Alfie's llama). Joel is absolutely right about the mob guys, and I bet it turns out he took a fall for Midge related to her income (or for it's need to be laundered).
