Are they nicer this year? I have just seen Ep4 and everyone is all encouraging and high fiving like MasterChef Australia. The people don't seem like smack talking loons either. Seems like they've decided to edit/cast saner people? I also have to say I'm enjoying watching the food on this show so far. No ice cream, granitas or frozen domes or other cop out fugly desserts that have been plaguing MC Au.

Well that ruined the season for me. Not going to watch the rest of it. I adored Kym and their cooking. I refuse to watch them lose to mean mean mean Erica 😭😭😭

I loooooooove Brooke!!! We've seen some great chefs on this show but after watching Brooke in many many competitions I think she's got an element of genius in her when it comes to cooking. She's incredibly gifted.

Yes I have a soft spot for him. Just seems like a really sweet guy like you said. I'm sad 😫

I finally know who he is and like: WTF!!! Anyone else (except Connor and Eric) would make more sense!

Loved loved loved this episode!!! It was so much fun!!! Highlight for me was Kristen revealing her 3/4 packages of meat which was absolutely hilarious. Adored seeing the all stars cook the recipes and their comments. I laughed at Kwame hustling like crazy to finish Byron's recipe. I was absolutely stunned when Chris made gnocchi. His commitment to dying on that pasta hill was baffling.

I seriously do now know which one he is😅 I've been listening to the files while I'm dog walking so I've got no idea who these people are.

OMG do not even put that out there in the universe!!! I like goofy, good natured Andy! No complaints here! I find the comedian hosts too loud and in your face at times so I will happily go with the easy going, cheerful, harmless judge.

Are Jamie's noises caused by a nervous tic or does she think she's cute? I don't want to diss her if she can't help the noises but if she's doing it to garner attention she needs to shut up!!!

I vaguely recall them being buds on the Next Iron Chef! Maybe someone can verify. It was a long time ago but I'm pretty sure they were working together for some reason and got along really well.

I think it'll be ok!!! Even if they started this show with no plans (not saying that is the case, just hypothesizing) and didn't think it would be this popular, they've proven that they generally make sound writing choices. Haha it's so weird how much faith I have!!!! Don't let me down writers!!!!! I say this as someone burned badly by HIMYM and did not recover until BBT!

This week's episode was unsettling but last week's was so much more sad for me. I'm going to hang in here because the BBT writers gave me my perfect show! They gave me everything I ever wanted on BBT so I've got faith they can turn this around and give us a tasteful show while still juggling cannon.

😭😭😭 Avishar!!! He wasn't the best chef but he was such a sweetheart!!! I just liked watching him because he was adorable and goofy. Could have happily watched him all season. What was Shota thinking with those drumsticks??? I actually wondered if my TV had a problem because they were so grey!

I am absolutely gutted for Gabriel. Unlike almost everyone else here I really like him. He just strikes me as someone who is very intense and takes everything super seriously. Really glad he at least won $10,000. Sarah and Shota are the cutest little munchkins who can cook! But not as cute as Avishar who I find adorable and seems like such a fun guy to be around. I totally missed the whole "hen of the woods" mushroom and spent the first part of the Quick fire wondering why the heck everyone was cooking chicken. What was wrong with them and why were they all defaulting to chicken in a mushroom challenge? 😅

Love Kym! Super talented and very calm. I will miss Siobhan. She was never going to win it but I find her endearing and she's gorgeous!!!

Amar is absolutely lovely and a joy to watch! His enthusiasm really jumps out at me, yet he's not "loud". I find him really genuine and likeable. Kudos to the decision to include him on the judging panel. Go Avishar!!!!! Thrilled that he won $10,000!!! Such a sweetheart!

@katisha this is ridiculous but I squeeeeeeeed when reading that Brendan bought a place! Property is insane in Australia I can't help but be very pleased for him. I think I'm happier than I would be to hear that he has a successful food venture🤣

Hiiii Guys!!! Hope to see you all back this year!!! We're sort of back to an artificial normal in Australia (borders are closed) so I'm guessing the challenges are going to be pretty normal!

Avishar and Shota were adorable together and seemed like they had so much fun. I've just had ribs but I really want to eat that rib and watermelon dish 😋 I really like the chefs this season, even high strung Gabriel. It breaks my heart to know that they're all probably not doing that great career/business wise due to Covid. Blais really sticks out like a fungal infected thumb amongst the group of very likeable guest judges. I cringe whenever he's mugging at the camera. I wonder if they do too. I've always given him leeway (I try to file him under Quirky 😑) but he's insufferable this season and down right embarrassing.

Gregory!!!! I was so distraught when he left last season I'm thrilled to see him again. Hoping to see more of him!!! Delightful man! I'm so glad to the show is back. I really felt for the poor chef (the athlete) who forgot her soup and then they let her sweat it out, not knowing if she was in the bottom group! Re Padma: Very fond of her. I find her authentic (which in my book doesn't necessarily translate to nicey nice rainbows all the time) and there have been many instances where I've felt that she's handled emotional contestants/situations very well. Plus I totally fangirled when she was there last season, looking incredibly beautiful and rattling off Italian. It was a very 😍😍😍 moment for me.

I squeeeeeeeed when Brooke played for Shirley. They were in the Top Chef finale together and some nasty people were trying to make a case that Brooke didn't get along with Shirley so I totally cackled at Brooke earning her friend $10,000!

I think she's volatile and really wonder what the hell she was thinking. To be clear I don't think either Eteri or Plushy are sunshine and rainbows but to flee Eteri suddenly and then now try and flee Plushy back to Eteri. This was a drama of her own making. I have just read (on the forums so lots of salt and all) that she's bound by contact to Plushy now and cannot go back to Eteri. @Avaleigh I love Kamila!!! Love love love. Second only to my chosen child Rika! This was an "experimental" competition for her to add the 4S and backload the 4T. I think she'll master it and she'll be damn scary when she does. But with a cute wee munchkin face🥰🥰🥰
