  1. Saw the first episode. LOVED the exchange between Anne and Alex when Alex wanted to say something about someone's raw chicken and Anne was like "Nono just leave her be" Then Alex was like: What is wrong with you? And Anne's like: oh I've done seasons of this show I'm totally zen. It was hilarious!!!! I'm in this to watch these two. So much fun!
  2. Aww he's pretty adorable. He's a tad dim but good natured and lovable. I do wonder if they'll keep him for next season as there has been a lot of criticism about his inability to be articulate. I'm torn as I agree that he's not very verbally gifted but he's sweet and likeable imo despite not having all the qualities that make a great judge (a la the fabulous Mel).
  3. I'm ok with Laura. I actually think she's an excellent cook who can do both sweet and savoury when she's not focussed on pasta. Laura and Emilia are both ok choices for me. The others not so much. Callum is my dream winner but that's not happening. I've had an excellent run on the other competitive cooking shows this year but probably not with MC AU.
  4. Is Canada strict? Australia will chuck you in a random hotel, give you rations and you can't get out for 14 days. They have guards in the hallways. Hehe I'd love to see him get chucked into an Aussie quarantine hotel. You can buy one take out meal a day of you choice.
  5. I'm on my second round of this show! Up to season 9 now. Gosh I adore it! I didn't last through Friends and HIMYM ended in a dumpster fire for me so it's just really lovely BBT ended on a high note. Just finished an ep where Leonard and Sheldon went to buy illegal helium and ended up watching a movie with their dealer. One of the standouts of this show for me was the Sheldon/Penny, Leonard/Sheldon relationship. He really was their baby. I think any kids they have in the future would be a walk in the park after Sheldon. I'm noticing more stuff the second time round. Stuff like when Howard's mum died and Leonard was worried Sheldon was about to say something offensive. Leonard was like "Buddy" in the softest voice. I really love that friendship.
  6. Melissa's menu was the one I would have ordered given a choice between all the menus. It was incredibly creative but not gimmicky. This was the best top 3 ever and it was so nice to watch a finale and be super excited but not anxious about who would win. Melissa is such a cool, calm and upbeat person. There is something so positive about her attitude (and not in a fake, trite way) that makes me feel happy whenever I watch her talking heads. I did feel for Bryan. I think he put a lot of pressure on himself to win. I felt for him I really did. Stephanie was awesome and I'm so thrilled she got to have this Top Chef experience after what happened in her previous season. I hope she's on her way to healing. There was a lot of pain evident whenever she mentioned her brother.
  7. Considering how tough things are right now for everyone we deserved this final three!!! Could not have come at a better time! I love Stephanie and Melissa! Can't pick between them so I'm really hoping one of the ladies will win. That said I would not be upset if Bryan made the best food and won!
  8. Oh they are adorable!!!! Best final three ever! They all seem to be pretty quiet and reserved people so this makes it extra cute 🥰
  9. Callum is too down to earth to be royalty. Reynold is a snot and Poh amuses herself greatly. That's what they think makes good reality TV royalty I guess.
  10. I don't know to be honest. I guess I kept waiting for things to improve and they never did. I don't know that I necessarily blame Orser because rewatching even the Olympics skate I can see Zhenya's jumps deteriorating. I do find her programs lack transitions after she moved to Orser. I've very very very invested in Rika and thought she was doing amazingly both mentally and physically towards the end of last season so I'm nervous about the change.....
  11. Rika adding Orser as second coach https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/stories/news/amp/kihira-rika-future-hanyu-coach-brian-orser/?__twitter_impression=true I hope it's true that he's only the second coach and that she still keeps Hamada. Hamada has done a fantastic job with her while I can't say the same for Orser and Zhenya.
  12. Haha I have LCK phobia too! I know it's irrational but I keep expecting them to bring Karen or Kevin back as competitors to haunt me!
  13. Yes I was thinking I would rather Malarkey than Leanne. He's always been efficient and I thought that in Restaurant Wars he was actually more focused as that challenge was about Gregory's vision. He handled a stressed Gregory and the fish very nicely too. I can see him being quite decent if Stephanie needs support. ETA: I prefer him for Stephanie over Kevin too. Kevin can cook but that dig at Bryan makes me doubt if his attitude would be all that great. I don't think he'd be awful but probably not sunshine either!
  14. I don't think Malarkey is necessarily bad (are they implying he's bad in the previews?). He was a very good team player in Restaurant Wars and besides being very loud I don't think he's malicious or bitter so no red flags really. Stephanie just needs to stick to her vision and reign him in which she showed that she can with Leanne in Restaurant Wars. She was calmly a total badass when she took over the tickets. Of course Gregory and Stephanie would have been a brilliant team (I loved their couch chat a few weeks back) but I'm hoping he was resting that poor back of his!
  15. Omg guys!!!!! Squeeeeeeee I could not watch last week after knowing Gregory left. I adore him so that was quite a sting. But I'm back on board the train now after reading who is in the final three!!!!!! My Gregory loving heart is somewhat mollified as I really like Melissa and Stephanie. Quite like Bryan and his dorky laugh too!
  16. Ha I loved reading all the shade on the Chin Chin guy. Thanks for that!
  17. I think the way he completely dismisses Eric Wallace is disgusting and really says a lot about him. Whether he's doing it intentionally or not, it paints a picture that the other man is not worth his time, energy or acknowledgement. It's gross. What's really interesting (to my nosey self) will be what remains of the various JAR friendships after this. His other JAR fans are very passionate about this issue. Will they be able to overlook his attitude for the sake of the benefits they get from him after this or is this the end? My busybody self wants to know!!!
  18. In one of the episodes Poh spoke about not wanting to bring fried rice to school. It's amazing how far we've come in Australia. My son who was born here and speaks only English will do anything to avoid a sandwich! His favorite lunch is a Thermos loaded with fried rice or pasta etc He's been known to bring seared duck breast to school and steak! He tells me a lot of kids throw their sandwiches straight into the bin but will eat lunch when their parents pack them leftovers.
  19. I suspect they like to get drunk together and use each other for commercial purposes. Now that things are rough in the world, views and values are being tested.
  20. Lovely article about Melissa https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/reality-tv/how-melissa-leong-helped-turn-masterchefs-fortunes-around/news-story/757ce7f3295522ff913bd1590462919a
  21. Excellent finale! I really liked all three of them and Francis has been consistently great so that was a really satisfying end! Honestly with this finale and result I wish TC Canada had aired last out of all the competitive cooking shows I'm watching so I could end on a high note 😂
  22. KC is off on a different planet. I'm not sure she knows what's going on. SA is probably thinking this is all bad for business, wine subscriptions, cons and ways to generate money. How the hell is he meant to fund his lifestyle with all this "inconvenience" going on????
  23. How are you guys feeling about the judges? Melissa is fabulous of course but I'm really liking Andy! He's improved heaps and the season has gone on. I like his critiques. They are not fancy but he's getting there. He's also very good natured. I like the easy going breezy vibe. I think it's a good match with Melissa's articulate fabulousness. I hope they don't get rid of him. Of the three I'm worried Andy will get the chop because he's got less industry clout. Jock is just not likeable to me. He grates. Most things he says grates. He just doesn't come off as a particularly nice guy. Even George, shady as he was, was able to act like he cared about the contestants. I'll be very upset if they replace Andy and keep Jock. Anyone know how other fans are reacting to him?
  24. I don't have the will to watch anymore Loved that person. Adored that person. 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫
