  1. Responding from An Unexpected Thaw since I started to get OT. . . Thanks for letting me know! I've always loved everything about California-its beauty, Mediterranean-like climate, shopping, proximity to excitement, etc. If NoCal is laid-back, maybe my California dreams can come true someday. :) I was in Los Angeles for my last visit, but I'll make it up north next time.
  2. Not the pressure to look like an IG model the way there is in SoCal?
  3. The OC gals definitely like their implants. I've considered getting them myself, so not against them. But I think it's cool Heather is pretty natural all around considering she's in OC and her own husband is a plastic surgeon. I love California, but I don't think I could ever live there. The pressure to be perfect looking sounds like it's a lot throughout the whole state, but in particular LA/OC.
  4. Thank you! Fixed my post. I knew that too, not sure why I wrote Gretchen.
  5. Really? I'm generally more forgiving of the Housewives than a lot of fans, but Kelly goes below the belt so often, I can't see her as the kindest at all, more one of the meanest in the whole dang franchise. She attacks the women for their looks in a really nasty way (pointing out facial hair and fat shaming a woman who's struggling emotionally and with her weight). She throws the c word around. She repeatedly mom shames. I hope deep down she is kind, but she's so nasty on TV. Everyone talks about how evil Tamra is, but I don't remember her going for the low blows like Kelly does or seeming gleeful she hurt feelings. Like, I don't think Alexis should be devastated by "Jesus jugs."
  6. You described my sister to a T! If she is excited about something, not only does everyone have to be in a good mood no matter what's going on in their lives, but they have to be excited about the game even if they don't care about sports; they have to be jumping up and down at concerts or else they'r not having a good time; they have to be on the dance floor at a party even if they're shy. Now when she's in a bad mood, which is often, oh my. No one can be happy or have a good time, and it doesn't matter if she ruins someone's birthday, a holiday, she won't keep it together. She always sets the tone because it is always about her feelings. I love my sister, but I have wondered if she is a narcissist. And this describes my mother! She is always stunned when people pass, no matter how old. "But they were in perfect health!" I felt awful when my grandfather died, but he wasn't only over 80, he was sick. My mother was shocked and said she would have spent more time with him on our last trip to visit if she knew it would be the last time. She expects everyone to live to 110 or something. I know losing someone you love is traumatic, but losing an elderly loved one isn't shocking the way it is losing someone young. I think that's where her own son came from last the previous season, but some people took it at as being dismissive of Vicki's pain.
  7. Thank you! I'm really excited. I will make more money here too. Oh I know women aren't necessarily lovely! I've definitely experienced bad and good with both men and women. You always hear that women are drama though and that men are oh so nice and laidback, and that just hasn't been my personal experience. I truly believe there is good and bad with all genders, but men are the ones who have made me personally most uncomfortable. It will feel nice not being outnumbered by them. I'm so sorry you also recently went through hell as well. I hope things are going better for you now. I appreciate that, thank you.
  8. Exactly. I've heard there are companies with high ratings where there are a lot of bogus reviews. If a company is big enough, you might check places like Reddit. I absolutely would google any company that might be my future employer, but I still try to keep an open mind. Your experience will often depend on the section you work, your direct supervisor, work ethic, just being a good fit, etc. There are often good and bad places to be in any given organization. The Glassdoor reviews that get into specific jobs and pros and cons are pretty useful. I'm not sure how many of you remember me venting about harassment at my last job, but I will begin a new one soon. I'm really excited and also like that I will be working with a lot more women. The environment will feel safer for me.
  9. I've been binging Atlanta and really like Kandi. Kim seems like she's taking advantage of her. I'm curious how it will play out but you are right that ultimately Kandi is a successful woman.
  10. Running out of product a couple weeks before the Sephora sale. My hair can't go a week without the Oribe blowout cream.
  11. Agree. It was very confusing listening to her. I thought maybe it's because I don't have a medical background or something. It's definitely a sensitive topic considering Peggy had a mastectomy, but I don't see why she won't be clear as to whether or not she had cancer given she's made it a storyline herself unless she's being deliberately obtuse. Well, in Lydia's defense, I think a boob party is incredibly bizarre in itself, and I'm also not the type to talk about my breasts in mixed company. Not saying her reactions to Shannon made sense, but I could see her point to a degree. Anyone remember when Camille on BH was talked about how big and beautiful her breasts were in front of the guys? lol Everyone thought that was inappropriate back then. Yeah, Kelly isn't just typical crazy Housewife. The way she goes after the women from the C word to pointing out imperceptible facial hair to body shaming to mom shaming, she has no limits with her cruelty. I think she is beautiful on the outside, but she's an especially mean Housewife. Shannon may be neurotic, but I think she's sweet. I like how even-keeled Kelly is. It's refreshing in a franchise full of women like Tamra, Vicki, Teresa, Erika, Kyle, etc.
  12. lol so true, I wondered this. In an early episode, Stassi said Jax didn't come home, and he said he slept in his car. It sounded like he went straight to work from there. I wondered if that was scripted, if I misunderstood, he showered somewhere, or what. I'd hate to go to work without a shower, much less be filmed. It's indeed especially weird with a bunch who pride themselves on being hot. Poor hygiene could make the most beautiful person in the world unsexy.
  13. Binging Atlanta, and is Kim's dad a creeper or just has a bizarre humor? Kim was talking about breastfeeding, and her dad asked if her baby plays with her other breast when she nurses. I would be creeped the hell out if my father said anything like that.
  14. Eddie is one of my favorite husbands on these shows too. He really does seem like a nice, laidback guy who only shows up on camera to support Tamra. I hate that they're gossiping about him. You are right. He is not a Terry or a Slade. Baby Aspen is a doll!
  15. I see. Well, they've lasted longer than a lot of couples who have been married, so maybe they figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  16. I like Heather. She can bring some petty drama but isn't mean. She's actually a wife and mom and has lots of money too, so she fits the original concept of the franchise. She is beautiful without looking plastic, despite being married to a plastic surgeon. She also has more class than a lot of the other ladies.
  17. It's much more bizarre than Dorit's accent. Dorit comes across as more or less American despite her "child of the world" thing. Peggy is basically as American as all the others, but you would think she immigrated at 20 watching some scenes. I agree she has to be playing a role.
  18. I liked Lizzie. I thought she was one of the nicer ladies on OC, and I think she's one of the prettiest Housewives across the whole franchise. She reminds me of Sophia Loren.
  19. You are right that people definitely talk more when the woman is older. I think I'd get more surprise from people if I dated a guy just five years younger than I would a guy 10-15 years older. It's hard not to let society get to you either. I am much more aware of my age when I'm around men younger than me than I am around men older than me. As much crap as I give Kyle, she is an outwardly beautiful woman. I can see younger women who like women genuinely being attracted to her, unlike so many of those sugar daddy couples where it's got to be a money thing. Also unlike Rob and Crystal, despite her youth, Morgan's brain has been fully developed for awhile, so there isn't the creep factor of a man approaching 40 dating someone still in her teens like Rob and Crystal. Rob seems sweet, and I know Crystal wasn't a child bride, but still. I'm almost the age Rob was when they began dating, and even if they're legally adults, anyone just out of high school is a BABY to me. I can absolutely understand being attracted to someone who's not the same age (within reason), but I'm not a fan of huge age gaps because if you love someone, don't you want to spend your life with them? I can see someone like Erika not minding because she's all about $, but most of us want companionship and love.
  20. Yeah, big difference. Who hasn't googled someone before? Hiring a private investigator is way beyond being curious about someone. I think even those of us who have zero to hide might be creeped out if we heard someone hired a private investigator. There is definitely an agenda even if the PI comes up with nothing. lol I enjoyed the call too, and got a kick out of the yous. I don't think BH has been classy since like season 1. They need to stop casting people like Brandi and Erika. The Giudices don't have anything on the Girardis criminality. Yeah, I bet the Gorgas appreciated that. Andy also defended Joe when he was called a bitch boy last year. If Luis was interested in Alexia Nepola at one point, he has a type. She acts a lot like Teresa. Some people say they look alike too. I didn't initially think so, but now I see it. Melissa is starting to look more like J.Lo, definitely not a bad person to look like.
  21. Yup, most of us have been the Morgan or the Kyle.
  22. Thank you for clarifying this. I've seen so many posts talking about Luis being with Teresa for her money. I know she makes a good salary, but with her history and Housewives not being a forever gig, I don't think of her as someone you'd want to be with for money. Maybe Luis thinks Teresa is beautiful, fun, and enjoys her company. If anyone could have pulled off that hair, it's Teresa! The wedding looked like a blast, but I didn't think the burlesque was a good idea for a family event. There have been instances I absolutely sided with Margaret and the Gorgas over Teresa, but they've even annoyed me lately. If you're not happy for Teresa and Luis STAY HOME. Don't make passive-aggressive posts online either. A part of Joe should still want his sister to be happy and enjoy her big day. I thought it was ridiculous how much they wanted Melissa's family to be at the wedding in the first place when none of them like Teresa. I've never been married, but I can understand on such a special day, it should feel like a big, huge LOVE BUBBLE. :) Not people who only want to be there for the cameras or whatever. I didn't like Jen bringing up the Gorgas either. I think Gabriella was dreading the drama, and it got her emotional. Are there things about Luis that are concerning? Yes. But I still am not convinced he's horrible when his whole family and Teresa's dorters love him. I've seen comparisons to Brooks from RHOC, and that was quite different imo. He said and did a number of creepy things, including hitting on Briana in a very crude manner, having relations with a porn star around the age of his kids, then the cancer scam. Maybe I'm missing something, but I haven't heard anything about Luis that compares to that. Has he been fake the last few years dating Teresa? Does he come from an entire family of con artists who pretend to love Luis and are being fake nice to Teresa? I truly don't know. Perhaps he has a temper and a past but isn't this evil guy. Maybe Teresa can understand that and it doesn't bother her given she's not the girl next door herself. Anyway, I wish them well. Teresa went through a lot in a very short time span, and I think she deserves a break and happiness.
  23. I wondered that too. I went from being suspicious of Luis, to finding him surprisingly likable and charming, to being concerned about his temper. It is a good sign that his sisters, Teresa's daughters and even Juicy all like him. Teresa isn't always my favorite Housewife, but she has been through enough. I hope he is an okay dude and doesn't hurt her. Dolores did a wonderful job with her kids. They are so lovely.
