  1. My youngest son was supposed to turn 10 today. He passed away in his sleep at 2 months old. Cause of death could never be determined.
  2. Retired grandparents, stay at home moms, people who work from home...I see this a LOT. It's definitely not fair to assume that just because someone is home they'll want to watch your kids. I'm surprised to hear that, because Amazon hiring predominantly from employment staffing agencies for its fulfillment centers has been one of the biggest complaints about it. Even worse is that employees, even the temps, sign contracts that have non-compete clauses for a period of 18 months. That's fine in bigger places, but in rural areas where warehouse and factory jobs are sometimes the major (or only) places of employment, the wide-reaching language in the contract can cause real problems-especially when the employment was short term and without benefits to begin with. I like Amazon. They're responsible for around 75% of my income. Because of it, I'm able to live out my dream. And I'm grateful that they chose this area to build in because it does provide a lot of jobs to an area that has a high unemployment rate. But their hiring policies are complicated, their rollover retention rate of temp to full-time employees small, and the small print language makes it difficult for the staffing agency to place their employees after their contracts end. If @silverspoons is right, and I see no reason to doubt, then it sounds like Aseulu's employment shenanigans are just for the show. He does seem to be working. And that's what I don't get. WHY would you go on a show that makes you look like a lazy simpleton? It can't be for the money-it's not anywhere near a lot. (Something like $10,000 for the season and that's before taxes.) Aseulu and Kalani don't seem to get into the side benefits like the parties, appearances, etc. Maybe for the free trip to Samoa that they thought they were getting? Just doesn't seem worth it.
  3. Well, her son IS the best at pretending to have expensive shit that's not his... But wait a sec. Let's say that it's true... When my readers found out about me having COVID, they started sending me Tylenol PM, heating pads, NyQuil, and Gatorade. You mean I coulda been registering for Hermes and shit? Damn it! Oh well, there's always the flu. Fingers crossed! 😉
  4. Colt actually does have a lot of friends outside of Debbie. The problem is that they're crazier, and even more of a famewhore, than Larissa. His BFF was on "Marrying Millions". It explained a lot.
  5. I'm looking way more forward to this than I should be.
  6. The Amazon thing works in theory, but it's incredibly hard to get hired on. We have one of the biggest Amazon fulfillment centers in the country nearby. The only way to work there is to apply through a temp agency. They pull all their full-time associates from the temps and, at any given time, they'll have anywhere from 50-100 working. The contracts run for 90 days. At that point Amazon will decide whether to keep you on fulltime or not. The percentage of people who are actually hired on fulltime is very, very low. Lots of people around here are hired on to work the holiday season, but their contracts generally end around the end of January and aren't renewed. When the temp agency places the worker at Amazon they're always hired on with the promise that "after 3 months you'll be brought on fulltime with benefits and higher pay", but that rarely happens. While there's always a "now hiring" ad in the paper and on their website, actually getting a full-time position with benefits is difficult. It's cheaper for them to just keep hiring temps. The same goes for the nearby Toyota plant. Most of the big factories hire through employment agencies and a lot of them, like Addeco, require skills tests. I'm not sure how well Aseulu would do on one of those.
  7. It does sound funny, but it's not as weird as it sounds. Big level event planning is really complicated. I'm on the board of a paranormal convention (Scarefest) and though our event is only 4 days long, we have a staff of 12 who work year round. During the event we take on 75+ volunteers. In addition to scheduling non-stop lectures, demonstrations, and workshops we also have to find those people transportation and lodging. We have transportation director and her entire job is to make sure all our celebrities and lecturers get here okay. Then there's our concierge whose job is to make sure those people have what they need while we're here. We bring in over 400 vendors and food/drink have to be provided for all of them. Each night we have concerts and live entertainment. Our music guy handles the bookings, rents the sound systems, books security, etc. Last year we had over 10,000 people show up. A lot of the big hotels and resorts have their own full-time event coordinators because they have weddings, conventions, etc booked every day during the busy season. It really does take a certain skillset. When I worked at Belmont Mansion in Nashville we had an event manager because our ballroom was sometimes rented out for two events a day. Just hearing her patiently talking to the cranky people on the phone was enough for me. You couldn't have paid me enough to coordinate with the Christian music acts during the Dove Awards. Those people were MEAN. I prefer to deal with the horror industry. A really good one who makes everything run smoothly will, as @MrBuhBye said, make it look like they're just telling people where to put the chairs. Does seem like there's a degree for everything, though. I'm still scratching my head over an associate's degree in "babysitting" that I saw once. Not daycare management, childcare management, or teaching. Literally just babysitting...
  8. Yeah, he was freaking out not because Pierre was out of the carseat but because it was caught on camera.
  9. Seriously. Nair is some crazy stuff. I tried using it on my bikini area once and it burned like hell. Got up the next morning, started to use the bathroom, and had trouble pulling down my underwear. It's like they were stuck to me. When I finally got them off I saw that my entire pelvic region was covered in hundreds of tiny, oozing blisters. The blood was what caused the fabric to stick. I realize that not everyone has this reaction, but for a man who chooses mayo over conditioner because of the "chemicals" I find it odd that he has no trouble slathering on something that's literally meant to pull off your hair.
  10. Jesse and Tom will hitch their wagons to just about anything.
  11. This is where discussing Show Aseulu gets complicated for me. Show Aseulu appears to simply be handing out yogurt samples which, of course, can't provide a life for his family. But Reality Aseulu is doing much more than that and probably IS making decent money at his real jobs. They do this with several of the cast members: Beekeeper Anna, Angry Andrei, Blake.. No way would I continue doing this show knowing that they were going to conveniently ignore my actual employment and keep portraying me as a lazy loser.
  12. My VEDS causes hypermobility and chronic dislocations. It's the sister disease to brittle bone syndrome. Turning over too hard in my sleep causes my hip to dislocate, opening a door too quickly pops out my shoulder, coughing too hard and my rib pops. I have to be careful with chewing because my jaw has dislocated so many times that our local ER staff no longer even asks what's wrong-I just walk in and point to my face. It also causes early onset of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. I have arthritis and/or bursitis in both hips, both knees, my back, and my neck. RA in my hands. The other lovely co-morbidities it's caused are Cranial Cervio Instability and Chiari Malformation. I've had 3 brain surgeries since 2012. I turned 40 in March. Whoever said that Tania thought people would think that Synjin carrying her would be "cute" is right. It was not endearing, though. She already came across as lazy and that was before. Arthritis sucks. It's painful. It's really difficult to have sympathy for someone who "might" get it in a few years, though. I work. She can find something that will work for her. Or maybe Synjin's opera career will kick in by then...
  13. I know what the guidelines say, but they're just guidelines, not usually steadfast rules. I remember being upset at my pediatrician's office with my first son because everyone kept telling me that my 3 yo should still be rear facing. His legs were almost as long as mine. Our pediatrician said, "Because of your child's height, it is far more dangerous for them to sit backwards. Just because that's proven to be safest for MOST children doesn't mean it's the safest, or right thing, for yours. These guidelines rarely take in the bigger picture." I faced him forward after that and left every online mommy group I was in. I picked him up from school and they started doing this thing where the teachers would walk out the kids and observe whether they were being put in a carseat the "right way." I (sort of) respectfully opted out of that and told the principal that the only person's advice I was interested in hearing was my qualified pediatrician's. But yeah, that carseat looked sideways. It's no wonder, though. Those were two big honking carseats and Kalani's not a small woman. That whole setup looked really uncomfortable. My husband is 6'4" and sometimes he'd have to ride in the back with both carseats and by the time we got to where we were going, he would be in a lot of pain.
  14. Heather was first introduced as Whitney's friend from high school and appeared as such for the first two seasons. She didn't become Buddy's girlfriend until later.
  15. She was. For the first two seasons she appeared as Whitney's friend. She and Buddy didn't start dating until much later. I'm #TeamHeather too. I loved the dress when I wasn't able to see the top.
  16. I was on steroids but have to limit my time on them because they aggravate one of my chronic conditions. The bad thing about the COVID 19 pneumonia is that it's viral and not bacterial. I'm hoping to just wait it out and deal with the pain. The worst part is that my hair's falling out. I know that should be the least of my worries, but I like my hair. Brittany IS skilled at making her booty clap.
  17. Either it's all fake or he's picking a fight so that they'll make him leave and he can return to Samoa acting like a victim. FTFY
  18. And Mother Jihoon even explained that the reason she preferred a Korean DIL is because they were friendly and tended to bond with the MIL. If Deaven would just try...
  19. I've had it a little more than 3 weeks now and it's been hell. Although I no longer have a fever and the vomiting has stopped, a CT scan today showed inflammation around my heart and I still have some fluid in my lungs. I still can't really get out of bed. Just walking to the bathroom makes me sweat through my pajamas and my oxygen rate to plummet.
  20. She also thinks that she's smart and Assan really loves her. 😉 Nicole's mother and sister are attractive. I think she could be as well if she'd take care of herself. But then you'd still have the whole personality thing... I knew I was missing some people! Yes, she IS pretty. Even looks good in her candid shots.
  21. When he was threatening to jump into the poop water I kept wanting Karine to hand him a condom and say, "Good luck!"
  22. I'm not. The women already existed; seeing as to how the majority of the female population isn't super thin, someone finally just capitalized on it. Beauty standards change over time. Size 0 hasn't always been the preferable beauty standard. Whatever faults Danielle, Angela, Molly, Nicole, Kalani, or BGL may have, it's not their weight impeding them. It's their decision making process and, in a couple of cases, their personality in general.
