  1. No, it actually was Karine. Check out the couple's thread. It got pretty bad for her. Very sad. IMO Pole has a personality disorder.
  2. The way to sell Kentucky is not to trash Brazil. Hell, that made ME defensive of Brazil and I'm literally a proud Kentuckian.
  3. I never EVER want to hear Pole explain a maxi pad again. If I hadn't had a hysterectomy 9 years ago then that would've sent me straight into menopause.
  4. Karine is more than just unhappy...she has some serious untreated mental health issues going on.
  5. If Cheesy Butt hooks up with Cheesestick for some cross-franchise queso will that mess with quantum physics?
  6. Eric-ee has a bunch of heads in his freezer, doesn't he?
  7. I think she has one. It's just that her hours are a bit...late.
  8. Damn you, Synjin, for making me side with Tania. I was rooting for you!
  9. FWIW I have just as many female Moldovan friends who are breadwinners as male. Either they're playing up this stereotype or Andrei's friends are all chauvenistic.
  10. Being a spider killer for my husband is literally in my Twitter bio.
  11. Somewhere Deavan and Areola are foaming with jealousy at Angela's new apartment..
  12. I'm not totally convinced that Stephanie is sexual at all.
  13. I'm not defending Andrei. I mean, none of these people are innocent, no matter how they're edited. Every one of them who sign on past one season know how they may be portrayed. They're all famewhores and it's clear that most of them will go along with whatever they need to do to keep the cameras rolling.
  14. Yeah, I'm taking this one with a grain of salt. It could be an old screen shot and she could've changed her handle since then, of course. Honestly, IMO if she went from twerking, wine guzzling, Hollywood Blvd dressing Christian to burka wearing "Mohammed is great" conservative Muslim wife in less than a year I'd be concerned. There is zero wrong with being Muslim. Islam is a beautiful religion in many ways and people change all the time. But when someone goes from one extreme to the other so quickly I always feel a little off about it. I'd say the same if it were Goth to Christian or Primitive Baptist to atheist. It's more than just changing churches, it's a completely new lifestyle. Of course, we said the same about Avery and she's still hanging in there, so...
  15. It's weird that he and Robert come across as so chauvenistic on the show, yet on PT they're reasonable and almost always standing up for and taking the side of the woman.
  16. I'm about 99% sure TLC is paying for travel. This season's theme is "take American family members abroad". It's happening in every story line. Sharp knew they'd have gold with Debbie in Brazil (no visa needed for tourism). I agree that Angela should've waited. I do, however, think that the reason Angela is taking her friend and not her daughter is because of her mother's health. They needed a family member there, just in case, so they made up the whole "daughter won't go" thing.
  17. What is Jihoon even qualified to do? I don't want to stereotype a whole country, and there are slackers everywhere, but the Koreans I know take education and careers very seriously. What's he been doing?
  18. WTF did I just watch? My kids used to do this when they were toddlers and had to poop.
  19. The computer thing is a real interesting (off)topic. I'm 40, small Appalachian town, and most everyone I knew had a computer by the mid-90s. We had a huge computer lab in middle school (92-94) and I had girlfriends in 94/95 who were "meeting" guys online in rudimentary chatrooms. My first article was written in Word Perfect and published in 94. My first laptop was in 95, 4 inches thick, and weighed a ton. We got our scanner in 96 and I spent a week making posters of Leonardo DiCaprio and Ed Norton. It's interesting how, once again, we've all had different experiences and there isn't really a general consensus. Like @Mrs. Hanson, though, there's still some things I do by hand. Especially lists that I'm still adding to. I do think that judge would've been more sympathetic to Betty if she hadn't been so batshit crazy. Every time something happened in her favor she'd find a way to fuck it up. At times it seemed like he WANTED to help her out. With Amanda Peet I'm getting Sick Betty, but I miss Meredith Baxter's Angry Betty. She's still Betty to me. Also, whoever said that Real Betty reminds them of Laura from 90 Day Fiance is spot on. I can't unsee it.
  20. I actually really like Andrei. I think he plays everything up for TV and that he's trying to portray a stereotype. Libby's a shit stirrer who's watched enough reality TV to know the drama and arguing will give them more airtime. He's clearly good with Eleanor and on PT he seems to actually get along with her sisters. I have a bunch of Eastern European male friends but while some of them can get a little sexist at times, in my experience laughing it off or just arguing back works. One of my best friends is a self-help author from Poland and once a year he flies over and stays with me. When I visited him he gave me the same "woman's place" speech that Andrei gave Libby. I just glared at him, told him to hush, and then asked for tea. Andrei seems to be mostly all talk. He's not SO sexist that he won't be a SAHD.
  21. I was the youth hostel reviewer, but we had one writer on staff whose job was to do nothing but travel around the different countries and review the McDonald's and KFCs.
  22. Angela is a hospice nurse and despite her antics with Michael she appears to be caring of her family. I don't think the clean bed was for the camera. Also, her mother's cancer isn't untreated. She's had several treatments and surgeries since Angela first appeared on the show. She's receiving medical care...
