  1. OMG, I have toe jam older than Andrew Dismukes. 😵
  2. Awww shucks, this was one of my favorite new shows. IMHO the scene with Rob and Debbie Harry is a TV classic. It was nice to see Da'Vine Joy Randolph again. She had been in People of Earth, another fave.
  3. I think in one of those articles Wes Chatham "they" (cast? whole production company? something in between?) hope to do all nine books. Why not? Only five to go. Mom has been on that long, ffs.
  4. It's been a month since this story broke-- any Cas Anvar news? Still investigating? AFAIK they have the set well in place, and this cast seems pretty dedicated, so I could see them re-casting Alex and going back to re-shoot and re-edit. On the other hand, if we excise every piece of art the production of which involved a bad person, there might not be all that much left. I could understand them airing with a disclaimer but I'd hate to see it.
  5. Jost is on Marc Maron's WTF podcast 7/13.
  6. Wow, I didn't realize Pete had six years in, probably because he's done so little. He should move on, as should Aidy and Kyle.
  7. "Princess Leia, Ellen Ripley, Seven of Nine; they all paved the way for strong female characters in sci fi. But I'm not sure I've ever seen a character quite as deep, complex, and totally badass as The Expanse's Camina Drummer. She is awesome. In today's video we break down her character and explain her role in the Belt and the OPA." High praise especially when even within this one show there are so many strong female characters. [May contain a few mild spoilers; nothing pops to mind]
  8. I've watched the series twice now and in between re-watched the movie, which I had not seen for quite a few years. I was actually surprised at the similarities. I have never read the book. Perhaps soon.
  9. Was unfamiliar with Once I Had a Love until the Debbie Harry scene-- sooo great!! And thanks much for the compiling!
  10. Dan Aykroyd is on today's ep of WTF with Marc Maron. http://wtfpod.libsyn.com/
  11. The passing of James Lipton has rekindled interest of Will Farrell's impression of him . . . I've never been a Farrell fan, but this is super funny, especially the silences.
  12. As Ashford dies in space, his wrist-device shows the oscilloscope of signal, which stops, then upside down the unit reads, "Message sent." I'd also say he's transmitting a warning to Drummer. He starts Marcos talking about hurling the boulders, but Marcos has something even bigger up his sleeve.
  13. Finally watched s4 finale. I'd had a lower opinion of the season compared to the others, but having re-watched the rest of s4 in advance of watching the finale, I'm stoked again. Poor Ashford. He kinda took a knife to a gunfight and paid the price. Hopefully his death was not in vain. Murtry talked about the first wave of explorers being roust-abouts. I kinda like the idea of Avasarala and Frankie teaming up and going asskicking around the galaxy.
  14. When I saw Bieber, I couldn't help but think of this . . .
  15. Agreed on both counts. The show wasn't very good, but at least it wasn't as bad as the ass-whuppin' the Chiefs laid on the Texans. 🏈(Muhahaha!) 😵😜😎
  16. Heidi seems to be the heiress apparent. I'd wager she's getting more screen time than Kate lately. I like Melissa but agreed she's likely to be of limited utility. Chloe and Ego are still mostly window-dressing so far, but show promise. Lorne should give them more to do.
  17. This looks encouraging. JJ has a little game, a sense of timing. The promos are funny.
  18. I can't get Melissa's Oscar's ditty out of my head. "White male rage, white male rage, white male rage." Goddamnit! (Oops, that was a little white male rage-- damn you Villasenor!!) (Oh shit, there it is again.)
  19. You mean they aren't asking Ricky back? I'm shocked I tell ya-- SHOCKED!! TBH, I do not like him at all but I loved his Golden Globes bit. I think by now the YT clip has had more viewers than the GG telecast itself.
  20. Was that in this episode? I dunno, this is my favorite show ever and I'm not feeling it this year. I've only read the first book so I don't know where this is headed. People tell me it's a good season, so there's hope. Alex, Frankie, Avasarala, and Drummer have all been relegated to the back seat with Naomi not far behind. Maybe for the first time since her introduction in s2e1 there was no Frankie. I don't think we've seen Fred Johnson at all. The ending of this ep sure piqued my interest. Was there anyone else yelling, "That's a big-ass bomb under that tarp in the middle of the room! GTFO!!"
  21. Not exactly, no, but the scene with Holden and his mom is a few months after the Barbapiccola runs the gamut through the ring, and Clarissa and Alex talk in terms of her delivery back to Earth taking months. It's probably the better part of a year, which makes sense.
  22. Most of the sketches were very funny but the movie-- not so much. If anyone can pull off a comedic "upset," it's Will Forte. Off-topic re the Battlestar Galactica reboot reboot reboot: The late 70's show had early promise but quickly turned into, well, a late 70's TV show (cheesy suckathon). The aughts reboot was one of the best sci-fi TV shows ever. It had a compete story arc with an ending. They tried to breathe further life into it with Caprica (the reboot's reboot), but alas, it didn't work. More power to 'em if this new one works, but WTF? [/end rant]
  23. MacGruber is back on NBC's new Peacock streaming service. Yawn. Wait, wut-- there's a BSG reboot? Why???
  24. I understand all that, but we're talking months here, not a couple years.
  25. The look on Fallon's face was priceless as he listened to Kidman tell that story and he gradually realized she was not kidding and he'd blown his chance. Fred Armisen isn't funny so the Natasha Lyonne dealio is more confusing to me than his brief marriage to Elisabeth Moss. Maybe that's over at this time. ETA: Oh bloody 'ell, they've been together for years. Go figure, good for them.
