  1. Jane Stanness (Deborah) was hilarious in the last episode. Her relentless pursuit of Sally was great. I laughed out loud when she asked Sally to go down on her, wondering if "it was too big due to the exercising" (I am paraphrasing). She really carried that episode. It is interesting that the only person Sally can say no to is Nigel even though he may be the only one she wants.
  2. I did seem a little out of character for her not realize that she couldn't tell off-color jokes at a church. That was a painful scene to watch. Agreed. It seems like every character is a caricature of something real. I realize this is the show's style but sometimes it is too much.
  3. The show is still entertaining even though the story lines are a bit far fetched. I did notice in the last episode that some of the editing was poor. Terry started the show with no marks on his face even though he has just fought 2 days ago. Later in the episode at the cemetery the marks reappeared! Someone should be responsible for that. Does Ray EVER eat?
  4. I didn't hate this series but I also didn't find it cohesive at all. There were some good parts but then they seemed to be ruined by bad parts. Juliet Lewis was the star of this show even if you didn't like her character. I thought Katherine unloading on Jandice was quite violent for what started out as a tussle. Hard to believe this group will be featured again on an HBO show.
  5. I have to admit that I am enjoying this show. While it is totally bizarre, I find the lies that Emma tells to be humorous as are the reactions to them. The office dynamics are funny including the wheelchair-bound character. I love how Sally plays the straight-man role to everyone. The last scene was totally disgusting but I did find the director's commentary funny as well as his plea to Sally to "get involved."
  6. Couldn't have said it better. The show centered on real, believable emotions as opposed to the Randall and Kate story lines which just seem forced. Nothing over the top here. Just a good hour of seeing what these characters have lived through.
  7. I found it relatively funny. Given the David was packing at the end of the episode it is possible that his character is gone. I like the 2 women. Let’s see where this goes. I can deal with silly as long as it doesn’t get stupid.
  8. I am nervous that Paul or his current boyfriend are going to be victims of AIDS once they jump forward to the mid-80s.
  9. I definitely think the ending was done the way it was in case it was also the series finale. I enjoyed Lori vacillating between sadness and happiness after hearing of CC's death. Looks like she got over it quickly. Excellent season. Looking forward to what they do in the next one.
  10. When 10 year-old Toby was clothes shopping with his mom it seemed as though the Dad had already left since Toby's mom references it when he was in bed depressed over his failed marriage. Later in the episode there was an older Toby (different actor) watching his Dad pack his bags. Did his Dad leave twice or was that an inconsistency?
  11. Silly you. There are no bills on TV!
  12. Because you can only kill William so many times.
  13. Can someone refresh my memory as to when and why Barbara went to jail? Was it after she and her girlfriend were caught stealing money from men they lured into their room?
  14. Does Candy know where Frankie got the $20k? He brought the bag on the set but I don’t remember him saying where it came from. Maybe he did.
  15. I found nothing remotely funny about this episode. I have no interest in characters who are so far from believable.
  16. I really enjoy the moviemaking scenes because it is all about Candy’s attempt to transform from prostitution to a socially acceptable occupation (filmmaking). I realize that she is making a porn flick but that’s where she has a chance to make a start. Why is Abby always so depressed? When her character was first introduced she seemed happier as she freed herself from her parents. Now she just seems to mope around. Maybe she is just a very serious person.
  17. That's what I was wondering. Seems like the title is somewhat limiting.
  18. The episode brought back memories of when I was a 10 year-old summer camper in upstate NY in 1971 when the 3rd lottery was held. One of my counselors had a number in the single digits. It was a very sad time for him and his brother. I was too young to understand the enormity of it but I did understand their sadness. I prefer this type of episode to the current period story lines including all the Pearson adults.
  19. Can someone explain how Beth was at this job for 12 years? Didn't she start when Randall quit his job?
  20. How was Beth with the company for 12 years? Didn’t she recently return to work when Randall quit his job? I thought she wasn’t working when he was and then they switched roles.
  21. Cade will never be anything other than scum. He preaches that to Ruth and his nephews. Langhornes never read book or go to college. They steal and try to avoid getting caught.
  22. In one scene on the porch she suggested that she get some lemonade which is their signal to kill a guest but her husband told her to hold off.
  23. If Adora is responsible for the murders then she definitely had help.
  24. While so much fuss is being made about Ruth Wilson, Maura Tierney is the female star of this show. When she has been given a chance by the writers she shines. I was very happy that Helen got the last viewpoint last night. She was magnificent. Helen has been given the responsibility of staying sane while everything and everyone around her goes to shit.
