  1. Was it See No Evil “Vanished at Noon” about the 2014 disappearance of 33-year-old Jessica Padgett in Pennsylvania? Gregory Graf murdered his stepdaughter, then recorded himself sexually assaulting her corpse. The jury (nine men and three women) took six minutes to convict. Jes’s mom, Danelle Bittner, was married to Graf for 17 years. She was in Florida at the time of the attack. As for the truck, “Graf had his pickup truck dropped off in the borough for maintenance at Harhart's Garage.”
  2. Well, the clues are pre-1997, “the affair started in the second season and went on for several years,” and “it’s a classic show with a humorous bent. You have certainly seen [it] on cable even if you were too young to watch it when it originally aired.” John Stamos and Lori Laughlin from Full House?
  3. You could try asking over at Shopping Channel Shows > Product Reviews.

  5. I think someone in the Shopping Channels forum misheard "sun-kissed" makeup as "sun jizz" on someone's face.
  6. TJ's frozen French onion soup is vegetarian! I put one in an oven-safe mug, then bake it in the oven 'til bubbly. Fall + winter comfort food.
  7. Google says episodes 1–2 air August 15, but I couldn't find any confirmation. Sneak peek: http://www.bravotv.com/vanderpump-rules/season/videos/an-exclusive-look-at-jax-brittany-take-kentucky

  10. Roxane (one "n") Gay was on This American Life last year. She's like the anti-Whitney: intelligent, self-aware, and honest. From the People article:
  11. All three are in every episode. I have no problem telling the guys apart, but I'm hopeless with A Scottish Podcast. The guys sound the same to my American ears. "A Scottish Podcast is a serialised modern audio drama. When washed-up radio DJ Lee finds himself “between jobs,” he decides to launch a paranormal investigative podcast series inspired by the likes of ‘The Black Tapes’, ‘The Message’, and ‘Limetown’. Enter ‘The Terror Files’. Aided by his long-suffering sidekick, struggling musician Dougie, the pair embark on their first investigation—by heading down into a newly uncovered vault underneath Edinburgh’s old town. Lee is prepared to sprinkle a bit of fiction into his reporting to keep things lively. But it soon becomes clear that these long forgotten tunnels harbour a secret far darker than he ever could’ve hoped to conjure up with his own imagination…"
  12. I probably shouldn't tell you this, because then the placebo effect won't work. Cool Off "icy cold herbal infused towelettes" are no longer for sale, and their website is gone. Here are the ingredients: https://web.archive.org/web/20100621091420/http://www.thequickchill.com:80/ingredients.asp (I love the Wayback Machine.) I suspect the company (It’s 2 Cool, Ltd.) was shut down for false advertising, and the product was just witch hazel wipes that smelled good from the added ingredients. (I love Dickinson's wipes, but hate the smell. YMMV.)
  13. The main ingredients were witch hazel, alcohol, glycerin, and aloe. You could try Dickinson's witch hazel wipes: http://www.dickinsonsusa.com/skin-care-products/original-witch-hazel/refreshingly-clean-towelettes/ I get them at Walgreens/Duane Reade to clean my face after yoga on the beach.
  14. That link didn't work for me, but this does: http://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/my-600-lb-life-before-after-127297/photos/christina-phillips-600-lb-life-238610 It features Christina Phillips, Laura Perez, Amber Rachdi, Charity Pierce, Paula Jones, June McCamey, Melissa D. Morris, Penny Saeger, Donald Shelton, Zsalynn Whitworth, Brittani Fulfer, and Chuck Turner. Most of the "after" photos are from Facebook.
  15. You can still watch the January 11, 2015, episode at http://www.nbcnews.com/watch/dateline/12-minutes-on-elm-street-part-1-258017859997 Byron Smith shot teenage cousins Nicholas Brady and Haile Kifer on Thanksgiving Day 2012 in Little Falls, Minnesota. Investigation Discovery's Hear No Evil covered the same case on May 17 as "Whispers from the Dead." It focused more on the audio technician.
  16. Annamarie Cochrane was angry that Cara Rintala had been drinking beer with a male friend in their home while Ann was at work as an EMT. The couple had a long history of domestic violence (including 911 calls, restraining orders, and divorce proceedings), and each was afraid of losing their 2-year-old adopted daughter, Brianna. This is a good article about the case: http://www.bostonmagazine.com/news/article/2013/05/28/cara-rintala-murder-trial/ Cara and Brianna moved to Rhode Island near Cara's mother and stepfather after the March 2010 murder. Cara wasn't charged until October 2011. Awarding custody to Cara's mother was probably argued to be the least disruptive to Brianna. What I don't understand is why a couple with $100,000 in credit card debt would take a cruise.
  17. I agree. Reach out to your brother now. Anything could have happened since last you spoke. He may even want the opportunity to say goodbye. One never knows.
  18. Annamarie Cochrane Rintala was in rigor mortis, meaning Cara Rintala killed her before she took Brianna shopping. The debit card purchases and phone calls/texts were an attempt to construct an alibi. Spilling the paint (and crawling under the body) further muddled the timeline, but Cara was probably trying to contaminate the crime scene. According to the local media, Cara hacked at the front door with a shovel, to stage a break-in.
  19. I just saw a commercial for wineclubid.com:
  20. I want to live in Shetland (aka the Shetland Islands). A temperate maritime climate. Northern lights. In midsummer, you can read outside at 11 p.m.
  21. Dr. Will Campbell's lung cancer is in remission, but now he's showing signs of dementia. Perhaps he's killed in the Spitfire crash? http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2017-05-08/the-creators-of-home-fires-on-what-would-have-happened-after-that-plane-crash

  23. I liked the casting, because both reenactors had less annoying voices than the real Donna Enman and Josh Osbourne, but still similar: @Brattinella One of them shot Josh's mom, Janette Osbourne, in the chest in Farmington, Maine, in 2003. (Josh was 21; Donna 26.) Janette jumped in the car and skedaddled, while Josh "tried to shoot out her tires." He and then-girlfriend Donna were angry that recently widowed Janette wouldn't fork over the family farm. (Or, as Josh pronounces it, "fahm.") Josh had dropped out of school in the sixth grade to work on the farm, but Janette was selling it. This was the only Love Kills which never reveals whodunnit. They each plead out and served two years. They eventually broke up.
