  1. “Under the Dome" Ratings Sink to Another Series Low [9/2/14]
  2. Alaska took the ice bucket challenge:
  3. Starting Monday, September 8, "The Wire" is airing weekdays at 8 p.m. on HBO Signature. According to my channel guide, they're starting with season 1 episode 3.
  4. According to the ID page, there were three episodes: "Losing My Religion" starring Jack Wagner, Rob Estes, and Jamie Luner; "Shot Through the Heart" starring Christopher Knight, Antonio Sabato Jr., and Tracey Gold; and "Tainted Love" starring Judd Nelson, Kevin Sorbo, and Nicole Eggert:
  5. I hadn't even noticed I feel the same way until I read this. My "Dammit, Carl!" moments (or "CAAAAHHHHWWWRRUULLLLL!!," to quote the Southern Accents, Mostly Horrible thread) are few & far between.
  6. Perhaps PBS cut that part? From the "Masterpiece" FAQs:
  7. Kevin's sweatpants? (The "Walking Dead" board has a "Carl's Hat" thread.) What I find really interesting is that I don't like any of these people—and yet I like the show. If I had to choose I'd say Matt—but only because I like Christopher Eccleston. (I even watched "Heroes.") Also, I think of Kevin, Matt, Lucy & Dean by their jobs rather than by name: the chief, the rev, the mayor & the creep.
  8. According to the Sundance cast & characters page, Daniel was convicted when he was 18, and "since she was 12, Daniel's death sentence has dominated Amantha's life." The main Sundance page says the show opens 19 years after the conviction, so Daniel is 37 & Amantha 31. In "6 Questions with 'Rectify' Star Clayne Crawford (Ted Talbot Jr.)," he says: I can't find an official age for either Teddy or Jared. But Jake Austin Walker's IMDB bio says that Jared's 15. So Teddy's what, 26 or 27?
  9. The lines that jumped out at me while watching were these: I totally missed the part about her disappearance. In my defense, I was distracted by the "Jon Hamm syndrome" on display as Justin Theroux ran in those sweatpants.
  10. The Deadline quote above is truncated. From http://screencrush.com/the-leftovers-season-2-renewal-renewed-2015/ (emphasis added): "The Leftovers" is about those who remain—not why the others left. There's an "All Episodes Talk" topic for those who aren't posting media links.
  11. It was Thanksgiving dinner—why assume the Merlotte family now lives in Bon Temps? The people around that table are the closest thing Sam has to a family of origin. Perhaps the Merlottes come to Bon Temps every other Thanksgiving to visit? The kids may have developed a cousin-like relationship with Jason & Brigette's litter. And maybe even with Luna's daughter, Emma.
  12. Lots of finale coverage at Entertainment Weekly, including interviews with producer Brian Buckner (“I think fans are going to appreciate knowing that we parked these people in a good place.”) and with Kristin Bauer van Straten (‘Pam I think is the Judge Judy of vampires.”).
  13. According to producer Brian Buckner:
  14. Eric came off well in the series finale. He protected Sookie, without her knowing she was ever in danger. Then this happened:
