I hate what they're doing to Kate. Making her squeal and carry on over that hillbilly is so disgusting. Everything about him is the opposite of sexy, especially that accent. Why Victor didn't threaten that piece of plastic Clyde calls a son is beyond me. Hopefully the new writers will quickly get rid of Clyde, Ben, and Abigail. I think Dena Higley was at the helm during one of the really horrible periods at OLTL, so I'm not optimistic about her coming here. If she can get rid of those three, though, I'd be more than willing to forget past storyline sins. I love KdP, but this is true. Eve desperately needs a reboot. The same could be said for several other characters as well. ETA: I don't know if MA would ever come back, but I'd love to see Jack back in town interacting with JJ, Eve, and everyone else.

I hate Kiki, but damn if I didn't feel sorry for her when those two ghouls showed up on her doorstep. Carly in smug, jacked-up teeth grinning mode is the worst Carly of all. Franco and Nina need to DIAF. As for the rest, well, I don't really watch anymore. It's on in the background when I remember to turn the channel. Ron C. has made each and every one of these characters so dumbed down and shallow, and oftentimes disgusting beyond words. And that petty little man thinks it's funny. You're not over thinking it at all. I've thought for a few years now that TG resents or perhaps even hates the viewers. Loved your whole post, but especially this part. I don't understand why they keep casting new people instead of writing good stories for the ones they already have. The way this show is ran is mind boggling. And infuriating. Oh how I hated Laura English! Not as much as SWSNBN, but it was very close.

Funniest thing I've seen in awhile. Even as tiny as she is, JMW is quite masculine looking. I wish someone would kindly tell her to lay off the plastic surgery though, and just roll with it. Seeing anyone - but especially someone so young - have themselves implanted and injected and whatnot is pretty sad. Sometimes I wonder how the doctors who do this to people live with themselves. Yeah, yeah, free will and all that, but at some point they are just flat out taking advantage of someone's out of whack insecurities. And that's disturbing.

How many years ago was this? When the curly-haired guy played him? Or more recently, when that little orange guy was SLW? Whichever, I can't believe either one of them got the role over NN. I also hope #2 is about ME and not FH, LH, et al. Whomever it is, why does FV play these games with people. It's such a dickish, unnecessary thing to do. It's unpopular, but I don't mind Ryan Paevy. He's trying and seems like a nice guy in real life, and IMO there are worse actors on GH.

GW is so bad. So, so bad. When he first came on I thought he resembled a cartoon space alien, but whomever said he was elfin-looking was so right. All I saw today was an elf pretending to emote. What were they thinking with this recast? Also, having Adrienne on Ben propping-duty was gross. That guy is such a useless character. Haaaaate.

Wow! Ridge and Caroline were smoking hot today. I can't believe how much I like the two of them together, because just a few months ago I hated Ridge. Really hope they don't screw up this pairing. Steffy is a fucking idiot and in need of some serious psychological help. Wonderful article - thanks for posting it. My daughter is in her later twenties now (I was a teen mom), but the differences between the dolls she had and the dolls today are disheartening. Of course stupid Barbie was around, but the image she inculcated wasn't as pervasive as it is today. I really feel for young girls, especially if they don't have a positive role model to help them navigate through it all. Anyway, Brooke and Steffy can both shut it. The hypocrisy that comes out of both their mouths is astounding.

I agree with some of this but !!vehemently!!! disagree with a lot of it, such as expanding Abby's role and ditching KdP and DG. I like Aiden (with and without Hope) and think Eve has potential. They need to get her away from JJ, ship Paige off to Stanford, and give her a job. KdP and Ted King have great chemistry, so if they actually would cast him as Peter Blake then he and Eve could mix it up as the town gray and black hats. Also, this: is a bit of bullshit. General Hospital looks incredibly cheap right now and the stories are a mess. Frank V. is as much to blame for it as Ron C. (the head writer). No one should follow FV's lead. ETA: Although maybe the author is saying the same thing but in a nice way, with the "kin of" and "in the sense" qualifiers? True O'Brien got one, too.

There really aren't. The only good things that happened today were DZ and Maxie's coat. RHo, MSt, and TG were so horrible, and now Sonny's going to be a hero? I was trying to explain the shittiness of it all to my husband - the dumbed down, awful writing, the cheapened sets, the half-assed directing, the choppy editing, and the de-characterization of so many of the characters so they can fit the plot, throwing characters (and actors!) under the bus for no other reason than the laziness and pettiness of the current regime ... and he just looked at me and said, if it makes you this unhappy then why don't you stop watching?

This show. Why are the so-called bad girls the only ones ever held accountable for their actions? No one made Ben throw the first punch. He chose to do it. Since Clyde is going to go after Sonny, can't Victor do everyone a favor and get rid of Ben? Holy shit I hate this character so much. Poor JJ. CM desperately needs a new story. He is being wasted. There's no individual thread for last night's 48 Hours, so I'm going to post it here. That whiny-ass, supplement pushing, wannabe rock star was so arrogant and ridiculous. Does he really believe that he can convince normal people (i.e., not his idiot brothers) that he wasn't plotting to have his wife murdered? Psychopath. He should have gotten a lot more than nine years.

Too funny! I had a difficult time picking out which Bratz she looked like, too, and agree about "Leora." Seconding the Statz nickname (though Breffy makes me giggle).

My memory totally sucks and I don't always pay attention, but I think Thomas got his percentage in the boinkberry story. Stephanie the Larger gave him some (or all?) of her stock in return for Thomas lying about sexing up Brooke on the deserted island. Taylor was somehow involved in this scheme as well. Steffy's share came from Ridge, but I don't remember why he gave it to her. Maybe to make up for Thomas having a nice stake in the company when she had none?? ETA: Thomas is Steffy's brother/Ridge and Taylor's son.
