Spoiler Discussion Thread: The Sequel

I love the scene but why would Felicity need to lie and say they were sorority sisters? E1 Laurel (who I assume the security detail think BS is) and Felicity were publically friends and even if not, Felicity's married to the Green Arrow and Laurel was the Black Canary so I'd think the SCPD would assume there was some association. -
That was so weird that, until other people mentioned it, I actually thought I'd imagined it. I assume she was going for "badass cop" and hit closer to "lunatic who has confused an empty CDC hallway with a runway."

JJ should be about 4 since Sara was born in 301 but yeah, that kid looked at least 6. I seriously was trying to figure out who the kid was at first because he was way too old to be JJ.

Mirakuru: The Sequel, now with more lameness? Dear show, If you want me to find your villain credible, don't have him whining about the pain he's been in since "every bone in his body" was shattered when that clearly never happened. It makes him seem more like a whiny wuss than he already did.

I'm also not 100% sold on the flashforward for the a lot of same reasons but I don't think we necessarily know Oliver is missing or dead, we can assume it but I also think the hozen suddenly activating and the message Roy burned probably indicates that someone is using it to ask for help so if he is missing then Roy and William will rescue him. I don't love that they've already seemingly erased Thea and Roy's happy ending and implied it ended very badly especially since, with Willa gone, I'm not sure they can ever really show us what happened. I'm in a weird place where I find the flashforward interesting but worry it wil really limit storytelling for the present. We already know that no matter what danger he's placed in, Wiliam will survive 20 years/to adulthood and that will be true for anyone they show in the flashforward. This seems like a terrible plan for a show that loves its "are they dead?" cliffhangers. -

I'm not looking forward to Olicity angst but I always assumed it was coming. She broke up with him before for keeping important things from her, it would be unrealistic for her to just shrug off him keeping important things from her and completely upending their lives in the process. And I don't want the angst but I'm pretty sure I'd be pissed if she did just let it go. He decided to go to prison and send her and William away and she found out in crowd of people while he was being arrested (and as a friend died but that's not really on Oliver,) I want her to be able to react to that beyond the immediate devastation. She's already said she'll always wait for him so I'm guessing it's not divorce level angst, just things that need to happen/be said and then they move past it and I can live with that. -
I think the fifth grave was where the Arrow gear was buried so I'm not sure if there was an actual body or Roy had just assumed there was.
-
Yeah, this confuses me. I refuse to believe Olicity never collect William from boarding school but if it's recent then why is the 30+ millionaire so upset about his father and stepmother leaving him? Maybe William's occasional age-inappropriate reactions continue into adulthood?

I do think being a scrappy fighter is inevitable for any child of Olicity no matter what both because Oliver would have always made sure his children could defend themselves (I think, the fact he never taught Felicity confuses me) and because any children they have will grow up in a world where Oliver's identity and past are known which brings inherent dangers. -
I noticed that, too. And when the guy in prison delivers the message to Oliver he says "Diaz found Felicity. Your wife is dead" not "Diaz found Felicity and William. Your family is dead." I feel like it almost has to be deliberate since it happens more than once but I'm not sure to what end because Diaz was clearly willing to murder William in Ties That Bind.
-
It was "Don't tempt that" which doesn't completely make sense to me either (and English is my first language.) I'm assuming he meant don't tempt fate/make him worry more by being unprotected but I'm not sure.
-
No, they just opted not to show it. Possibly to avoid having to show/explain how Diaz escaped again.
-
I could have done with less Dinah but I liked it. Loved Olicity's reunion and paralell fight scenes. I'm not wild about sending William away as that's never worked but it almost seemed like Diaz was after Felicity more than William (both he and the prison guy referred only to killing Oliver's wife) so maybe it will be safer. I'm kind of ambivalent on the flashforward, I'm glad they didn't immediately nullify Roy and Thea's happy ending and it could be interesting but I'm just not sure.

I'm torn on if I want her to be a future Olicitot. On one hand, Olicity has a daughter, yay but on the other her being anti-vigilante plus FutureWilliam seeking out Roy on Lian Yu (which, why the hell would Roy be there? Why would anybody ever go there?) makes me worry that Olicity, or at least Oliver, may be dead in 20 years. I want a longer happy ending for them. -
It's nice that everyone but Oliver's actual loved ones benefitted from his sacrifrice. Doesn't piss me off at all.

I'm confused, what just happened? Who was that?

I made it a little past the half-hour mark then realized I was rooting for the apocalypse the whitelighter was talking about and changed the channel. It just didn't work for me at all.

For the love of God, why?! He's by far the worst villain they've ever had. -

I choose to believe Dig's attitude is coming from a "if I let her get arrested or killed, Oliver's going to kill me" place rather than an actual belief that ARGUS is better. Still condescending but makes me want to punch him somewhat less. -

I'm back to worrying that something happens to William. Something about the way Felicity says "Diaz took everything away from me my husband, my family," with the cut to William scares me. I know it's supposed to worry me but her family doesn't make sense to me as a separate loss from her husband unless something actually happens to another member. -

I'm beyond glad the beard is gone but I don't understand how an actual escape can work. Oliver said if he escaped then Watson would just arrest everyone; Felicity would presumably run with him, A.R.G.U.S. and/or Lyla might be able to protect Dig but what about the Sucktastic Three? I don't care if they go to prison but Oliver, for some reason, seems to. -

Any song written about Jenelle? Which is something I hope doesn't actually exist. -
I don't get the PBS pledge drives, if I donate for the "wonderful programs," I will eventually catch on that you only show them when you want my money and stop handing it over. If I like the regular programming then taking them off is going to tick me off and make me less likely to donate. I've just never understood how they successfully bring in money, they seem designed to piss off just about everybody

Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra and David Starzyk have signed on. Veronica Mars: Jason Dohring Among 4 Vets Returning for Hulu Revival I hope Enrico Colantoni is among the later announcements and I assume Ryan Hansen has or will sign or the presence of the elder Casablancas will seem strange.
