  1. Here is your discussion thread for S02.E05: Captive. This thread will open at Sunday May 8th at 10:00 pm Prior to that, speculate and live-chat here --> S02.E05: Captive - Pre-Air Speculation and Live Chat. DO NOT post spoilers and DO NOT discuss the Walking Dead. To discuss the more popular Dead, go HERE. As always, be civil and be respectful, but always have fun!!
  2. Kinda wished I watched a marathon of season 2, because I'm a bit fuzzy too. Simcoe's men wear green coats, not blue. I kinda see Hewlett's as the regular Army/Military units for the English, while Simcoe's smaller band is like a Seal Team 6 or Special Forces. Same side, but Hewlett's group does the day to day, whilst Simcoe's band gets sent on special covert missions. I could be wrong though. It's just how I see it. They hate each other because of past power struggles, Hewlett kicking Simcoe out of his original position and Simcoe falsely accusing Hewlett and having him arrested for treason/murder. There is more, but I don't quite remember the details. Rodgers playing the "Woe is me, innocent" was hilarious, but how easy would it have been to setup Townsend Sr and catch him in the act of Spy. People were way too trusting and naive back then (I know, it's a TV show, but there was a modicum of honour that people abided by that they do not do today). And I wish Woodhull would give Rodgers a beatdown too. Oh Abe, always with the rash decisions that mess you up. What'd you think you were going to do with your kid? And Woodhull Sr. I just want to beat the crap out of him for betraying his son/family. What on earth did he think he was going to accomplish? Great actor, terrible character. So does Anna actually have feelings for Hewett, or is she trying to distract him? Simcoe, you evil man. TBH, I didn't mind him beating the crap out of that Red Coat. Because the Red Coats were the instigators and beat up and whipped that poor kid for no reason. Sorry, but on Simcoe's side with this one. Shallow Comment of the Episode - Major Andre is so gorgeous. Stop that, sir. That is all. They are very much departing from the actual historical fact, just for drama purposes. It's still entertaining though. And rereading this post, apparently I am wishing violence on a lot of people. I must be channeling some Simcoe somehow.... :')
  3. Just type the name, then bold the name. That's all I did in my post above where I said good idea. I usually bold members' names in my posts so it stands out better. _________________________________ Jimmy Kimmel Will Be Kelly Ripa's First Live Co-Host After Michael Strahan Jimmy Kimmel!! Should be interesting...
  4. I'm not sad Barnes is dead, TBH. Even in this episode, I was getting tired of his "by the book" mentality, continuously not believing Gordon, even though he (Jim) has shown he was telling the truth time and time again, etc. Like, when the lights went out, I was going "Unlock the Cell, you IDIOT!" Barnes' inability to think outside the box got a lot of people killed time and time again. If he just shutup with the whole "We do things by the book" BS, a lot more lives would have been saved. Glad he's gone. Getting a bit tired of Bruce being so impatient too... it makes him make rash decisions. Maybe it's deliberate, that he'll learn he NEEDS to be calculating and not impulsive as Batman. Did love him studying Azrael with a bit of awe, when he's climbing the walls, cape flowing behind him. That was awesome. James Frain hamming it up as Galavan. Have to say, I got a kick out of the cute kiddie excitement and pourty faces he was making...and shallow comment of the episode, he looked GOOD in that black wetsuit whatever that was thing. Jim is the best....he needs to be Commissioner, or at least Captain NOW. Anytime Harvey appears, the episde automatically improves. Crazy!Barbara is the best. Nygma being at home in Arkham made me laugh - he's right, he knows how to manipulate people. Very dangerous. But man, I was worried for him going down to Strange's "lab" area....you know he'll be caught. What a twisted messed up show...and I like it!
  5. I was wondering about that too. Like, for example, let's just say the weight a person normally settles at - if they are decently active and eat decently, but don't go overboard - is something like 155lbs, and they lose 25 pounds by going to the gym, does that mean that your body keeps trying to get back to that 155lbs? I'd like to know at what point is the cutoff? I mean, I was a lot thinner (and yet as lazy) at 19 years old, then now, but my weight is much more. What's the age cutoff, where the body settles into the weight it wants to be, so if you then lose weight, your metabolism screws up? Yeah, it does suck, but explains a lot. I always believed it's biology/hormones/chemistry. There has to be a reason why some people are just naturally strings beans, others more curvy and others that tend to carry a bit more weight, all other things equal. I was looking up on how to boost ones metabolism, and it's things like build more muscle, eat omega 3's, DON'T diet, etc, etc. Also think about people who have under/over active thyroids. The thyroid secretes hormones called T3 and T4. If you don't secrete enough of these two, you have an underactive thyroid and a very slow metabolism. These people gain weight no matter what they do, and it's virtually impossible for them to lose it (unless they start taking hormones). Overactive is too much T3/T4, and these people tend to be really undeweight, because of a hyperactive metabolism. They can't gain weight no matter what they do. You cannot win...
  6. The @ Symbol is called a Mention. If done right, it will look like this: @ChiCricket and you'll get a notification that someone mentioned you in a post. Basically, you type the @ symbol, get a swirling cursor, then what looks like a drop-list list of all members here, listed alphabetically. If you start typing a person's name, the name will come up in the list and you can either type out the whole name, or partially type the name, then use your mouse to select the person's name. Best way to "stop" this feature, is either just type the @ sign and keep typing (the drop down list will go away) or hit the escape key to get rid of the list of members that appears.
  7. TVLine - Kelly Ripa's Dilemma: Why the Live Host Needs a New Pal, Not a Bestie, Sitting Alongside Her
  8. Excellent idea, ChiCricket. This thread will be for any links to interviews, video clips, promos or articles that appear in the general Media, that discuss the Live with Kelly and Michael show. Discussion about what was posted is encouraged in this thread.
  9. Thanks for linking that interview, @vampdetective. Loving Tom Ellis more and more. Re: the smoking thing, yeah, just show him taking a drag. I'm sure Ellis would appreciate that (or not). I think the issue is that it would encourage youngins' to smoke, if they think Lucifer is a cool character they want to emulate. Of course, apparently drinking copious amounts of whisky and vodka is perfectly fine for TV.
  10. Fascinating article about a study done over 6 years, on some former Biggest Loser contestants. Excellent at showing why the "just eat less and don't be so lazy" mentality isn't going to work at all. It's all about the science. It's a long article so read it when you have time. The ‘frightening and amazing’ science of why so many ‘Biggest Loser’ contestants gain the weight back Highlights: I just wish the article would have mentioned how to BOOST one own's metabolism.

    The NBA

Okay, you have to explain what the 6 means!! I assumed it meant the 6th Man aka the fans, kinda like in football, Seattles' fans are the 12th man. Or is it the group of people hanging in Jurassic Park....
  12. Here is your Pre-Air Speculation and Live Chat thread for S02.E05: Captive, for your commenting enjoyment! The NBA

Totally thought the Raptors were going to blow it in the 4th quarter. Exciting game, but the Pacers became a literal wall and prevented the Raps from moving the ball at all...Pacers are good and Lowry was right - they were better than a 7th seed. Paul George is a shooting god, but so is DeRozan!! Him, Carroll and Patterson were amazing. Very happy they won! Downtown TO must be insane right now! Basketball is usually a bit dull to me, but I've watched most of the games this series and am loving it!
  14. OMG, I looked her up, and yup - would be perfect. Those eyes!!
  15. As long as you do it without being nasty or disrespectful to each other, I'm good. Venting is therapeutic; being mean to other posters is not. So thank you all for being civil and respectful to each other.
  16. I wonder if this will happen - that while everyone else sees the Demon with the red eyes and skin and horned/clawed red devil, if Chloe, when she sees him in his "true" form, will see Lucifer as he was - before he fell from Heaven (so like more angelic I guess). I would love that, for some reason. The white angel wings are not part of red devil Lucifer, so basically what he looked like when he had his angel wings. I love this theory too, and I think in earlier episodes it's been hinted or mentioned at what happens when you make a deal with the devil, You get what you want, but with consequences. In this case, you broke you word, therefore the deal is off. Awesome! And think of how many times Lucifer has said, "My word is my bond". It is! I'm thinking Asharat for sure, not Lillith. Not Lillith, but there is some link between Asharat (wife of god) and Ishtar, which some translations of her name mean So looking forward to season 2.
  17. It was a bug during the upgrade process - some spoilers were unhidden, but that's been resolved now. Nothing we could have done about it in the meantime. If you guys have any questions, you can ask(PM) me and I'll try to help (I'm learning this new format too) or go to the Questions thread and ask. Go to Questions especially if it's a weird bug or something seems off.
  18. Ah man, I really wanted Andre to win - thought he was the most talented of the bunch!! The other guy was good too, but I thought he made more flaws than Andre. The sob stories I usually FFWD through cause I just don't care, but felt bad that Andre hadn't seen his mom for 15 years!! Wow. I didn't think the dishes were the level of Chopped Champions though.
  19. slade3, there is a forum that people are asking questions in about the upgrade, HERE Scroll through, maybe someone asked already about MAC, if not, see if you can create a thread and just mention/explain what's going on. I'd even say include screen shots if you somehow can finagle it on the MAC. It's a learning curve for all! .
  20. Ah, we try. Hopefully this upgrade isn't too tramautic for everyone. I'm learning about a lot of it, just as you all are...
  21. TURN - Season 3, Episode 2 - Cold Murdering Bastards - Sneak Peek.
  22. I really liked it too. I admit though - I did forget some of the intrigues that occured before the S2 finale, but quickly picked it up. Arnold is already showing how "maligned" he feels of his treatment by Washington. I love that. Love Abe and Mary working together in their spy-games, and how Abe obviously was "getting off" on it. Hee. I admit - I got teary when Hewlett declared his love for Anna. He really is such a sweetheart. Truly. And she looked actually affected and moved... Ben Talmadge - nice to see you again, you sexy man. Also, Mr. Simcoe, nice to see you, you devious man. Same with you, Mr. Rogers... Woodhull Sr. needs to just go away. Overall, I really love this show and am so glad it's back.
  23. Hmm..interesting. I forgot about that. Thanks for the answer! Though by "prick" I didn't immediately think so devastating of a stab wound. More like a pin prick or slight cut. Which then begs the question...Why are Angels/The Devil, when on Earth, have the same flesh and blood and powerlessness that a human has? Obviously I don't read the comics (SPOILERTAG COMICS STUFF PLS!!), but I do find the possibilities fascinating.
