  1. Every single DCC has qualities that make them a great member of the team - some of them have amazing dance skills, personality, looks and are just crazy awesome all around. All are perfectly capable dancers, but perhaps are also excellent ambassadors on appearances or exceptionally photogenic or maybe skilled with kids for Camp DCC or do something that others can't like speak (or sign) a second language fluently. I guess in a perfect world there would be 36 perfect 10's on all accounts, but that's for sure not what's realistic for this particular job. It's really a unique dance job in that it has so much community involvement too. The Rockettes and Vegas showgirls aren't typically doing the ambassador piece of it. I certainly wish the DCC were paid accordingly, but for sure not the only under-valued profession.
  2. Definitely lends credibility to the theory that A-R got an exceptionally bad edit last year. I'm not terribly surprised she would get all "yes" votes considering her background. I am very, very surprised that Amanda would get so many maybe votes unless she was a poor teammate, but nothing we see on social indicates that. Perhaps a bad or controversial interview? I'm also surprised that Lexi would receive the same amount of "maybe" votes as Kat or Kristen, who have their plusses but aren't as strong as Lexi. I adore Lexi, though, so maybe I'm just missing something.
  3. Watched the segment and there's no indicator on how they're ordered, other than "top 36." I have a hard time believing Amanda and Lexi would be ranked so low, especially lower than Kat and Kristin. I don't know enough about Darian to make a call, but Lexi and Amanda were well liked by TPTB, unless there were some sort of issues already afoot about vaccination concerns, injuries, etc. like with Daphne. Taylor isn't the best on the team, sure, but she's dependable and has other great ambassador qualities.
  4. Ooh, I like that fan split. Pretty! I think it would be visually appealing too since right now the jump split is unnecessarily dangerous and can also look sloppy due to height differences. Maybe it just takes too long with the 36 cheerleader lineup? They could start from either side and end in the middle? (But also, 1990's ladies...LINES!!!)
  5. I thought Kat's costume was a hilarious spoof on the 80's aerobics costumes, which Judy and Kelly probably wore. Seemed to be in line with her cheeky (ha, see what I did there) nod to her original solo. She's definitely one to go for the personality side of things.
  6. I honestly don't understand why that's not just a standard part of the show, just like solos, first night of camp, etc. It should definitely be a short segment right before they start showing vets competing with the new candidates. Even if it's just a short blip of "we have X returning candidates and several retiring, including XYZ." They can show the exact same pics/info as they do on the instagram page. And they can easily ignore anyone they want to ignore, like the VK situation and Amanda since they didn't officially "retire" and left after that official cut off. It's not like this show doesn't have a history of just ignoring elephants in the room if they don't want to talk about something, like Erica. Or they can overdramatize a personal situation like Courtney, who should have just been able to quietly disappear since it served no purpose other than drama. They didn't give enough info for it to be a PSA. Casual viewers of the show might be curious where their favorites went but mostly won't care, and if they have questions it's easy enough to google and find this platform or others. Silly show. Sheesh.
  7. The Wiki is outdated, but Chickasha High School, where Kalyssa graduated from, has less than 700 students enrolled. Not quite as small as some high schools (one of my best friends was valedictorian of her class of 25) but not huge either. So perhaps not as competitive as one of the DFW major high schools with thousands of students. I really liked Kalyssa, and found her engaging. Brain fart moment for sure, and she recovered well.
  8. Damn, Jacie’s group 2 was stacked with amazing performers. That might be one of the best groups I’ve seen. No dead weight or stragglers.
  9. I thought it was really odd that Kashara being named group leader was used on today’s Instagram post, because that footage was from when she was announced second group leader to Erica’s leader. And then they dubbed over it, and it was awkward even in the aired episodes. Of all the joyful announcements, that’s the one they picked? Lol. She was actually chosen as a main group leader her last season, so why not show that? Editing hijinks…sheesh.
  10. The wording on that one was weird to me...I feel like it's usually referred to as the "classics" versus "classical?" Maybe Hunter was thinking about Mozart and not Dickens and had a brain freeze. That said, I always think of these random questions as a personality test - are you just a pretty face or do you have wit and charm? When you think about Kashara or Kat, they're going to be able to talk to anyone and turn an awkward silence around. Hunter doesn't need to be up on the high school reading list classics, but can she be engaging? Can she grin and chuckle something like "I was definitely a cliff notes girl in high school English, but love keeping up with In Style and sports romance novels on my Kindle!" Kind of like if they freeze on the dance floor...do SOMETHING. Anything! Hopefully nerves just got the best of her, but when you're up against 65 other women in an interview, seeing who freezes under pressure is just another way to weed out those who aren't appearance ready. Erica did a good job of turning her awkward question around that rookie season - she went into an emotional moment of talking about how much she'd love to have dinner with her now-deceased dad...but then when asked for a celebrity, did a little shimmy and was like ooh JT! Or something like that.
  11. Oh man, I followed a few of the links connected from this initial post and I loved the one with their music (Bieber’s “Holy” and Bruno Mars “Marry Me.”) Her fiancée is in there answering questions too. What a doll! https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMR9Cx1SX/
  12. The WFT uniforms are cute with the jacket for appearances, IMO, but I’m kind of meh about them for the field. And agree about the poms too! I follow the Seahawks and Chiefs cheer squads, but always happy to talk squad fashion for any team. Lol.
  13. My first guess would be Draper James but agreed, super cute!!
  14. The friends I have that did cheerleading for NFL and other professional sports teams allllll did it just to keep dancing and performing. One had been a very elite ballerina, but after an injury couldn’t perform at that level again. She said it also her trying new styles of dance (technique Tuesday’s for DCC, etc.) Most enjoyed the community service aspects too. Now, there’s a love of dancing but for many they’re also able to roll in affiliate marketing opportunities. People used to read the Sunday paper, now the target audience scrolls their Instagram feed and clicks on a cute outfit or to learn more about a service. Its amazing how much marketing has changed. As for the meme, I wish people weren’t so gullible and willing to do a google search any time they see an iffy headline. Sigh. But nah, spreading misinformation is way more fun and look at what it gets us! That said, kudos to the meme creator for a beautiful photoshop. Lol. I swear the most wretched lie can be put in a professional font and people will eat it up.
  15. Too bad camp was already over, that would have been a saucy media day question. #metoo times a billion.
  16. I remember checking into Sling before, so I’ll compare and see what works best for me. Thanks for the tips! I’ve been bumping along just fine with Netflix most of the time, but football starts and I start thinking about it again.
  17. Okay, so I’m getting ready to move and haven’t had cable for like four years. But what is this magic? $25 seems very reasonable for someone who only watches HGTV, this show and some cooking shows. I watch a lot of football, too, but I figure I’ll have more fun at a sports bar for the money of getting full out cable with ESPN. Or buying the NFL package. I’m moving to a small market so not sure yet if they tend to pick Chiefs or Cowboys - KC is closer by a couple hours but Dallas is the larger market.
  18. I just buy the season pass on iTunes since I don’t have cable. It’s usually updated by midnight the day it airs. So you’re a few hours delayed but the price is right!
  19. It’s crazy what will Shazam and what won’t - like I’ve seen some old as heck episodes that still have Calvin Harris playing, and then you’ll get some rando nonsense. It’s part of the charm of a rewatch, just to see how bad the songs get 😂😂
  20. As one of the marketing professionals on here, these stupid mistakes really do hurt my feelings. I would have been thrilled to work for the DCC as a fresh college grad for peanuts, just to have the experience on my resume and to make great contacts. (Which is totally what I did except for a different Dallas based company.) They can do so much better than misspelling and lazy posts. There are so many influencers and professionals creating great media content, so I’m surprised when we don’t get top notch from any branch of the highest valued sports franchise in the world. Takes me back to the boring, sloppy mess that is Haley’s LinkedIn. Sigh. Do better!
  21. Yes! Today’s was particularly bad because it featured malena, Vivian and Tampa Bay Megan. So not just cut DCC, but the ones most likely to stir the pot and/or have said the body judgment on the show had a negative longer term impact. Made me feel uncomfortable. I know the goal is social media engagement, but there are ways to do it that don’t feel exploitive IMO. On the other hand, Katherine Dunn cracked me up when she commented on the solo snips. She has a good sense of humor about things now in a way she didn’t after her second cut from camp.
  22. Alright, I’ll say it. I’m so tickled when they do Thunderstruck at weddings. I would say for the vast majority, no matter how their tenure ended, the memories are in the experience of dancing and the friends they made. It’s one of the few places they’ll have that many fellow DCC in one place, plus there’s a DJ and a dance floor. I’m glad experienced with leadership didn’t sour all of it. Plus it’s a quick way to get a multiple DCC “Where are They Now” update.
  23. I had a couple friends that know I watch the show send it to me...I laughed because it's an amazing meme, great work. But depressing AF.
  24. I think it's a natural feeling to hope the best of others - you assumed positive intent for Kelli and Judy and hoped it was weird editing or just awkward handling on camera. The show was still new at that point, so perhaps they weren't fully comfortable on camera yet. At least that's how I feel - I find myself playing devil's advocate when shit goes sideways and trying to find the WHY. But I also always find myself sort of defending Cassie in a lot of situations for that same reason. And for what? I don't know her personally. I just like to think that most people are good inside and we see some bad moments.
  25. Every time that episode is on, I'm like yup...everyone sucks here. Everyone. And some of y'all (the DCC vets) are grown ass women in your 20's and should know better. 18 year olds should too, but 18-21 are some weird ass years IMO. Speaking of 18 year olds...I might have to re-watch some Cassie years, because in my head she's just one in a long line of sporty cute girls. Every squad has at least five women that aren't beautiful in a glam way, but have girl next door appeal. As well as at least five where I'm like well that was an easy cut, let it simmer until next year. But oh, she's on the team now? Okay then. Cassie had great hair, great figure, and grew as a dancer that first year. Sure, she got on the team likely because of the potential they only knew about through her mom, but that happens almost every season with someone in the dance community that comes highly recommended. So really, my only beef is with some of the behind the scenes gossip and snitching. Which unfortunately, is a gift that keeps giving every season.
