Maybe they don't do jump splits or other things that wear the body down faster? I have a good friend that did pro cheer until about 40, just to keep herself fit and in shape. She loved dancing but got tired of the drama after so long.

I am here for this more mature cheerleader…definitely did a double take! They’re all beautiful. Could be mid to late 30’s tho, sometimes it’s hard to tell with makeup and such, plus I think some of the injections and things the ladies are doing in their 20’s these days prematurely too. I’m 44 for what it’s worth. That said, Angel (pic 1) and Gina could absolutely be related! Angel is an 8 year vet and a business owner and Sheridan is a rookie and a high school math teacher. She might be mid 20’s and just needs a styling tweak?

@sATL - the quote was being weird, so just tagging you. It was the Minnesota Golden Gophers that opened up the Macy’s day parade. My mom and I both watch MTT and cringed when we saw the jump split on concrete. Yikes! The only DCC I can think of outside of Jacie that’s performed in NYC recently is Olivia, and I believe she’s retired, moved back to Texas and is part of the same realtor group as Kelsey. She might not have gone back after the pandemic, and she also has a small child. Not sure if any of that is related tho.

Lacey has gone a little nuts at the med spa, but I liked her more casual look in the pic with Danielle. As a 40+ woman, it’s blowing my mind that ladies half my age are having more done at the dermatologist than I am. At that stage of the game, sunblock, a decent skincare regime and avoiding smoking seem like they’ll di 90% of the work. Nutrient rich diet and plenty of water help too. But everyone is free to do their own thing, of course. I would imagine Rockettes have to try out every year, and especially with a gap year. I imagine it’s similar to DCC where they just come in at the end, but they’ll have standards for weight, looks, stamina and flexibility that can vary.

I think Marissa had two strikes against her...she's more cute than classically beautiful, and her TikTok's were bad. SO BAD. But she truly does shine when she dances, and I think she's more photogenic in videos than pictures. The squad has always had the glamour girls and the sporty cute gals, girl-next-door or whatnot. Lea doesn't cleanly fit any of the typical DCC looks, but I think she has really interesting features. IMO she's more editorial in her beauty, like Amanda, but the big blonde hair popped Amanda into the glamour girl side. I would love to see Lea in a killer photo shoot with dramatic makeup, so curious how swimsuit calendar will shake out for her. I think Jaylyn will likely do five - it's good visibility for her wedding planner career, as well as her work as a pilates instructor. If she were to open her own studio, another year of contacts, especially adding show group back in, would be to her benefit. That said, I wouldn't blame her one bit if she made this her last year. I think for her there are more advantages than disadvantages, or she would have left after her second year.

She was 100% a standout for me too. I really hope she continues to improve in power pom, as she definitely seems to have the skills technically in other areas of dance. I get that Natalie W is popular and has a media following, tho more low key than MRS, but this all day. Let’s see some other hosts please.

I thought Madeleine S was exceptionally beautiful in the intro to the team video, which will certainly work in her favor if she continues to work hard on power. Beauty means a lot on the DCC, and she has a lot of technical skill that she should be able to convert like Erin did.

Savannah went first, giving a little extra…so when Sydney’s was so short and sweet I laughed out loud. Turns out most of them were, tho.

Mine is on Lexie, who IMO is seriously underrated. I do really like Gina, and she's a great dancer, but Lexie is too. I think she'll get Pro Bowl despite never being point, like Nicole B. Also, I liked this little video of Rachel W. Sometimes her eyes don't have life in photographs, despite her beauty, and this video gives her a little extra spark. (Still not point spark, but hey, no one asked me.)

I can't remember, but she's the one that was in sports broadcasting and had overslept and missed the team bus early in the season. Was on Jackie Bob's team. I think she's my favorite of the Jordans, tho Chanley isn't making that difficult these days. This particular Jordan is married to a NHL player, and they currently live in Canada. Their instagrams are pretty darn adorable. They dressed up like Coleman Campers for Halloween and it was very amusing. Good callout about the NFL mandate, tho that's selectively applied, enforced and penalized as we saw last week with Aaron Rodgers. If NW was on field, she's either been vaccinated or has paperwork that shows she has been. IMO a halftime show appearance wouldn't be worth lying, but I doubt the penalty is very high if enforced at all. Given she works for a media company, she was probably required to be vaccinated by her employer (The Blaze,) like I've seen for most media outlets no matter their target audience or pundit stances on vaccines. From what I've seen on her social media, NW seems to be more on the stance of "medical freedom" vs. specifically anti-vaxx, tho I could be interpreting that incorrectly. Either way, love seeing all the clips from yesterday's show! Looked like a lot of fun.

All of this. And if nothing else, AR knows as well as anyone that she was still auditioning for her spot as a DCC. Kelli didn’t have any issues letting experienced vets go late in training camp last year, and AR knows her spot wasn’t guaranteed. Especially after not making show group. Such a short window to dance professionally, and the Rockettes is a salaried job with health insurance and a standardized schedule. She must have thought she had an excellent shot at returning. I don’t personally have any issues with one and done, either. We’ve all probably had a job that we liked but didn’t want forever, as well as a jobs that weren’t all we though they would be.

Right! The DCC kick to their nose, and the Rockettes kick uniformly to the chin, which is why they're so pretty IMO. The Rockettes are more controlled and consistent. Not sure about the no touch kick line, though I remember from the training video that Amy's kicks were super pretty by herself. I think it would have been a social distancing issue more than the touching? I don't recall if they were six feet apart on the touchdown deck. Since they're sort of grazing it feels like a kick line version of "I'm not touching you!" Who knows what the NFL ruling must have been on the whole thing...tho they've shown this week that they are definitely picking and choosing what they're enforcing. Some teams lose draft pics, some have to play a WR from their practice squad that was a QB in. high school, some get a fine that no one blinks at.

The ladies don’t actually touch each other while kicking, they “feel the fabric” to help keep them in a straight line. IIRC, the DCC do actually touch the woman in either side. I think Christine Baranski is a bomb actress and has a great look…definitely see a lot of similarities between her and Lea. And not in a bad way. She’s got a more unique look for sure, but not in a negative way. I’m all in for a glamour girl, but Lea is a fantastic dancer and cute as a button too. Agree we’ll likely see her in SG next year if she’s interested.

Adding as well: Claire, Kristin, Kashara, even Rachel W tho I think she can fluctuate a bit...I am here for the lusher figures on the team. Variety is the spice of life, and those with lean builds are awesome (Amy, Jinelle, Jada) and the buff ladies are awesome (Lauren, Stephanie, Lisa) and everyone in between too. And other than recent points Amy and Gina, most points selected for the team in recent past are women who have the fuller, curvier, hourglass figures too. Kash, Jenn A, Maddie, Rachel W, etc. I think about Kelli raving over Dayton's figure in the uniform too, and Dayton is someone who is obviously in shape but isn't built very slim either. Kelly doesn't like them too thin or too thick...it's 100% The Three Bears looking for the porridge that's just right. lol.

Agreed! Erin's placement doesn't really bother me, but I do think they could have swapped Kelsey for Taylor. Why not use those long legs to their best advantage like they did with Jada? That was VK's spot last year too.

I’m going all in with unpopular opinions today, but Lacey would have been a better point option than Maddie, Amy or Rachel. And I don’t think Lacey would have been a good point. She’s beautiful and has gorgeous kicks, but was always a bit too fluid in her movement. Rachel has issues with this sometimes too, tho I think she’s a solid dancer all around.

I think any known dancer also could have gotten away with the pom slip, be it a recruited dancer, local dance team, local studio, etc. As long as she killed it in other areas like appearance and had good lines, they'd waive them through to round two and see if they pulled it together after the initial jitters. A random that flew in that no one had heard about? She would have had to be exceptionally beautiful and probably not even then. I think that's all part of that first night round when Kelli, Judy and Charlotte get together and make sure they don't "miss" anyone. 100% both VK and Cassie got away with a lot, but I do think we see it every season. I thought they were both fine DCC in the end, just not Show Group and showcase material. Cassie's figure was always great and I think she was strong in the old variety shows with tumbling and singing. (Entitled behavior/locker room shittiness excluded, of course.)
