  1. This. I don't understand why people felt there had to be OTT dramatics for this to be real. If she had screamed, cursed thrown things they would have said she was just auditioning for the cameras. Your analogy was spot on. I think it's human nature to feel compelled to watch even when we know we should look away. I'll admit I like the show for the drama but I wouldn't go as far as saying I'm a wrong reasons watcher. The drama that naturally comes from putting a group of women in one house competing for one guy is one thing but this blindsiding someone for ratings is pretty low. I thought I would like Becca for the Bachelorette but after the show blindsiding her like that and then seeing her being criticised for her very personal response to it I think she would be best to cut her losses and run. I hope she doesn't let this show sucker her into doing this again. Learn from this experience and walk away with your head held high Becca.
  2. I don't believe it was totally unedited but in the instance your talking about I didn't see that as totally out of character. She was in shock and still trying to process all of it. When Arie walked in and asked to talk to her some more I believe she still cared enough in that moment to (she had just said that she still loved him) agree to it. I saw nothing contrived in that. Everyone reacts different to pain and grief. We've all had bad break ups I'm sure but the big difference is we didn't have cameras stuck in our face when it happened so we could scream, curse..etc in relative privacy. I can't imagine the shock of trying to process that news with cameras recording it. Personally I would probably shut down. I wouldn't want everyone seeing my pain so I don't think I would be overly dramatic either. Becca strikes me as a tough no nonsense type who wouldn't break easy or go in for OTT dramatics. If she had been auditioning for the Bachelorette that is exactly the route she would have took though. Call me naive but I think she was being real and genuine in that moment.
  3. Yes we heard them discuss that he had been struggling with his feelings. I think she just thought he was still feeling bad about hurting Lauren. But as she said she obviously didn't think it was that serious. I think the reason she didn't go ape shit on him was because of the cameras and the fact that she was in shock. I don't think in that moment she was thinking any thing whatsoever about Bachelorette but she handled herself admirably and with dignity and if she wants it (God knows anyone couldn't blame her if she didn't) it's hers.
  4. That's why I said Jef was probably right. He obviously knows Arie's track record.
  5. Same. I was thinking the same thoughts as I was posting. That because it would be hard for me to be a part of that that it would then be hard and impossible to say yes to him. I've never wanted to be part of some messy love triangle. No thanks.
  6. I can see your point and I agree Arie is the one responsible for this whole mess but I think being dumped is hard enough to then find out you were dumped for someone else. That adds to the pain. Lauren had to know he was still with Becca when he asked her to take him back. So therefore she had to know by saying yes that he would have to break up with Becca. I can't speak for Lauren but it would be hard for me to be totally happy with a man knowing someone had to be hurt for me to be with him.
  7. If this source is reliable and he really said that then he's one cold hearted prick. I'm beginning to think Jef had something when he said before the season started that it wouldn't matter who Arie chose he wouldn't marry any of them. He was even willing to bet Chris H on it with proceeds going to charity. I don't believe he cares about either one of these women. Becca dodged a bullet and Lauren's heartbreak is just beginning. If anything she will come out of this looking much worse if this blows up (and I believe it will) because not only will she look dumb for accepting someone who had initially rejected her but that she was a willing participant in causing someone else pain.
  8. I remember on Ben's season they showed JoJo and Lauren trying on different dresses the show provided for the FRC and what they ultimately picked. The selection might have been limited but they did have a choice. Not sure about other seasons but that's what we were shown for Ben's.
  9. I agree. If she wants the Bachelorette gig I hope she gets it if not than I hope she's happy and wish her the best. She's been classy through the whole season and can walk away with her head held up. At least she had enough sense not to take someone back who wasn't good for her. Unlike Lauren.
  10. I think Lauren's dress would be pretty if it were black. The snug fit so close to the body with that color is too transparent for my taste. I think the fringe isn't too excessive that it wouldn't work in black.
  11. I agree. It was started I think because they said in the mornings she looked like she had went to bed with her makeup on. They were probably just jealous that even in the mornings she was still prettier than most of them.
  12. Could be Bytor. If producer driven they succeeded because I was definitely left with the impression she had bad breath. Whether it was all justified or not she truly got a BAD edit that season.
  13. My memory's kind of vague on this but I thought there were others that thought that also. I do remember, either coming from one of the other girls or a poster on here, that on a cooking group date in Mexico they observed Ben trying to get her to eat some mint leaves. Taking it that her breath was bad and he was trying in a nice way to remedy it without coming right out and telling her.
  14. Yes that's right! I pictured a big cartoon green fume coming from her mouth when I read that. LOL
  15. Not to mention Lauren. This does nothing for her except make her more unlikable. Why would she agree to it? Of course I'm referring to the scenario that this could have all been worked up before the season began. As far as the breakup scene only I can see him agreeing to a staged scene if he wants Lauren that badly. But I have my doubts about that because the show doesn't care about Becca being blindsided. In fact they probably wanted it that way to get a more "raw" reaction.
  16. If you are referring only to the time Chris was the bachelor than I agree otherwise no. I don't think drunkenly killing someone even deserves a comparison. I agree that the scenario above would be plausible and better understood. I can see Arie agreeing to that if he must have Lauren. I don't see him agreeing to the big conspiracy suggested upthread before hand simply because going in he wouldn't have had any connection to Lauren yet. And if his Twitter is any indication he wouldn't want to come out looking like a total jerk. Unless maybe he was offered big money. As they say, "money talks". Still can't see the show wanting to take that risk though.
  17. As much as Arie has been defending himself on Twitter over much less I find it hard to believe he would agree to such a ruse that would make him look like a complete asshole. He may be dim but he's not that dim. Plus the more people you have in on a secret the harder it is to keep it. Even if the show pulled it off it looks like they would have to worry that when these peoples contract expires they might leak it out. Heck they can't keep RS from leaking spoilers as is. All it would take is one person even inadvertently letting something slip. The show would take a big hit if that were to happen. So as much as I don't trust them I don't think they would risk trying to pull that off.
  18. Funny. I always wondered about that when the season was airing. I don't know if she has a natural bone structure that allows her mouth to open wider or she was overreacting for theatrics. Either way not a good look.
  19. I think she has very beautiful and striking eyes. I noticed on the last date that her hair had grown some since the start of the season and that looked better on her. With a good hair, clothes and make up stylist I think she would be stunning. Lauren is very pretty but would be so much prettier if she would smile and laugh more. I mean have we ever seen her have a genuine laugh and smile? The kind that you can see through and lights up her eyes? I understand shyness but you can be shy and still take a interest in the things around you. If she's that shy why did she even consider doing this show? If she felt swallowed up by or insecure around the other ladies why not open up around Arie? It's like she's on sedatives. I don't know it's puzzling to me.
  20. This is exactly what it was. In a preview to the season they had her age delibrately listed as ?? to draw attention to it. In an Ashley I interview during Nick's season they asked her why Corrine was constantly mentioning her "nanny" and what a bad look it gave her. Ashley said that the producers in her case told her to play up the virgin angle so to be fair to Corrine she was sure that's what was going on with her. Granted it's a role these contestants agree to portray but I'm not sure if they would if not encouraged by producers. ETA: After posting I see that @call me ishmael had the same thoughts.
  21. I wouldn't read too much into this as I think the show likes to cover all the bases and make sure they have backup options in case something goes wrong. If they offered it to Becca she could very well turn in down. Same goes for Kendall or Seinne. Tia in my opinion couldn't say yes fast enough.
  22. Don't feel bad. If you need a life so do millions of others, myself included.
  23. I can see for people who didn't like Raven where they would think being friends from Arkansas that her and Tia are very alike. But I see major differences and I am not alone as I see many people on social media who dislike Tia but liked Raven. As far as Raven not having anything in common with Nick I don't see that Vanessa had anymore in common with him other than maybe a stronger connection. And unlike Tia I don't think Raven went into it to win at all costs. I think Tia saw how well Raven did in the process and thought she could too. And she still might that remains to be seen. I don't have Instagram/Twitter so I don't know how much or if at all Raven shills products but from what I have most recently seen in the media she and Adam are doing really well and seem to lay pretty low and concentrate on building their relationship. As others have said I'm not so sure being the lead is such a coveted prize as it seems they always end up disliked more than not. BIP has a just as good as if not better chance of a lasting relationship coming out of it IMO. So maybe it would be better if Becca didn't get the spot. Although I still (probably in vain) hope to see a good season with a likeable lead have a good result. So I hope like others that Arie's treatment of Becca will earn her the spot. Tia with her decisions and actions doesn't deserve it IMO but we'll see what happens.
  24. Thanks. I'm sure the producers keep a check on Twitter but I've wondered before if they bother with forums like these to see what the viewers are thinking.
