  1. Kind of like a very expensive ice pack? No, not really. 1 HOUR AGO, SEMICHARMEDLIFE SAID: "But an expensive ice pack over most of the body. As someone who has had 10 major orthopedic surgeries in 12 years and rheumatoid arthritis since I was 13 (I am 56), I like the concept of freezing my whole body for 1 minute." I think we agree? You sound like I am wrong so please accept my apologies.
  2. I don't care one way or another about Gretchen but I would like to see Jeana back. She strikes me as having an interesting life and was likable.
  3. I promise this is my last post on the word "articulate." Last night my husband (who has some hearing issues--Mil Pilot) mentioned one of our local news commentators was quite articulate. I ran away before I could be banned but he meant the commentator was very deliberately pronouncing words so my husband could hear and understand them. Interesting to me such a word has so many connotations. Cheers to all.
  4. I generally use the term to say Mr./Ms. X or Y articulated the Department's position to a Member of Congress (or whatever constituency) regarding XYZ quite well. I think my go-to term is well-spoken if I'm mentioning it. Some people are just very well-spoken; I always hope to learn a thing or two by listening to them. We need a new episode.
  5. If Dawn wins, she wins. She has been given many breaks in this Top Chef competition. No question. I think cheddar cheese would be a difficult cheese to work with. I'm not a chef or even a very god cook but it seems pretty oily or something. I think I'd rather have and eat fresh mozzarella or Camembert or something. With cheddar, my mind goes to an omelet and nachos. That is all I got.
  6. Please excuse my white ignorance. I think Eboni looked to be offended, so she was. I believe I explained I was the only female in a 1980 Air Force pilot training class at Reese AFB. 70 other men. Me. Only woman. Articulate is a perfectly acceptable word in the English language. My theory. Not racist. As a highly educated woman, she should know this. I only have a Masters Degree so I'm probably really stupid. Articulate isn't a bad word. Period.
  7. Completely off topic but check out a Pure Barre in your area; the first visit is free. Your arms will get toned in no time (and I am a customer with no financial affiliation to the franchise) so will the rest of your body.
  8. I'm not sure. It is a word in the English language with very positive connotations. As a white person I would not be offended if I were characterized as articulate and I don't consider the word patronizing (BTW, I'm not very articulate). Eboni does consider it patronizing. Since we are being honest, I hate the idea that certain words, like articulate, are now considered racist. Can't keep up to be honest.
  9. I feel like I am watching Cancel Carl on TicToc. I think most people go along to get along; I was not aware calling a black person "articulate" was a microagression when the correct term is "eloquent." In asking Siri about the words, Keng Lee (Asian?) considers them synonymous but with subtleties. He believes articulate implies forcefulness and eloquent implies stylishness. I don't know. But I do think that we are reaching far to create conflict. Nice job, Bravo.
  10. Not a good look when your lawyers fire you..... Over/under, more time than Teresa or Martha?
  11. I am not a lawyer but I think they could go after her for income tax filings. I don't have any expertise in this area but I think she is going to do time. I HOPE she will do time.
  12. Meh, she has breasts, we can't see her ribs and she is hippy. Might be her bone structure in the hip area. Hmmm...chub, chub. :)
  13. Erica is going to prison. The only questions are where and for how long. Can't wait.... ETA: As a mother of a police officer, she may be safer in the super-max we have in Colorado. Ha ha.
  14. Like you, I am a triathlete. I think it makes me more disciplined because I take one day off a week from working out and often have two workouts a day. It is my thing; I also work as a professional. Does it make me better? Well, yes and no. Self-discipline is a good thing, no? I also have the special talent for spotting somebody who needs to shove away from the table a little earlier than they do. Watch "Touch the Wall" about Missy Franklin and tell me she isn't a special person.......
  15. I disagree. I think French food, prepared well, is delicious. Italian food, other the other hand, is boring.
  16. I agree with you RD. I do not believe she meant this as a "trigger;" Ramona is completely tone-deaf. Perhaps she should have said she gets her caterer's names wrong? Would that be better? IDK. I've had caterers in the past and have a maid service; I don't think I would refer to any of them as the "help." I think Ramona is whacko but I credit her faux pas as ignorance, not malice.
  17. Meh, I don't care anything about Lisa or her spawn. Amelia gets pregnant? Who cares?
  18. ITA. I love Top Chef but now look at it wondering who will be the next fresh face on the Food Network. So many of them have become quite successful on that network. I feel like I turn around and say to my husband "That guy (gal) was on Top Chef." I like the rise of Chef personalities; don't get me wrong, it is fun to see them, just like it is fun for me to see prior contestants so heavily featured on this version of Top Chef.
  19. I'm not even sure what this means. If Hannah were a full C-cup, would you like her more? Are you rooting for Kyle and Carl because you are offended at her physical traits she shows on TV? Carl might be the worst person in that house and I laugh when he gets the pass on evilness. But he is tall and good looking. No thumb looking pancake dick there! I think you are aware Ciara is an ICU nurse taking a summer break. Sloppy? After a year of 12 hour ICU shifts with many carted out with a sheet over their head, I don't care that her room is messy.
  20. I think I missed this discussion. I hope we can kindly disagree. I think we can agree Leah will never be Orthodox. Wearing a sweatshirt on RHONYC with racial overtones is talking about race. It just is. Eboni made the point she wanted to make. Good for her.
  21. "Jeremy was a master sergeant; he gets about 60% of his USAF salary, which is not a lot. I think we heard he also gets disability pay, although they have really downplayed that. " My suggestion is that people don't read too much into "disability pay." I can't speak to his rank or retirement but when you retire you list your medical conditions. I think I get 10% disability because I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is an autoimmune condition not caused by the military. IIRC, you don't get more money with a disability, you get a tax break. Not an expert and could be completely off-base. There are lots of spouses who make much more/much less than their partner. Why would Jeremy have to keep up with D'Andra's lifestyle? They are married. I honestly do not understand the point you are making but I would like to. My brother is a house husband so I'm curious.
  22. From what we've seen, even Kam's own family mocks Kam. Her dog probably mocks Kam. I don't have a problem with Tiffany's contempt. I think it is de rigueur on Housewives shows.
  23. I think I would agree with you except Kam went on WWHL and demonstrated she is not intelligent. If you know this about yourself, you either laugh about it or don't go on WWHL. I missed the part where she equated Tiffany to a Thai sex worker (I read that upthread). Team Tiffany; I've never cared for knock-kneed Kam.
  24. Pot smoking?!? Still laughing. Why is he a better role model? He only got arrested a couple of times? We clearly disagree so I humbly give all of you the last word.
