  1. I think if they *had* to establish it, they would go with a fictional president, maybe someone old who died in office and had an unpopular VP
  2. Maybe for disability representation we just need to have every disabled person who wants to act be from NJ :P
  3. I'm wondering if the group will get enough points to get into the Good Place, but then Gen will sentence Michael to mortality for his meddlin
  4. I believe they are now recommending colonoscopies at 45, not 50. I think Miggy is 20? I seem to recall that from the pilot
  5. They could've done something funny - or maybe a line from Jimmy about how now he owes the person loading stuff into the plane some kind of bizarre favor for taking extra special care of the wheelchair. Oh yeah, it definitely would have been alllll over the news because of JJ - I would not have been surprised if the people at Lafayette had told the news orgs despite the DiMeo's not wanting it, but maybe the writers couldn't think of a good plot that felt natural with the story they want to tell - since if they got given a good house/apartment that was accessible, some money, a bunch of things just handed to them, it would be nice if they were actual people, but as characters, it would remove a lot of sources of tension and it would just feel weird. It's the kind of thing a show might do in the 5th or 6th or 7th season, when they are barely running on fumes, to try to shake things up.
  6. Ah yes, Sonny and Cher, they sang I Got You Babe. That's pretty much alll I know. And I think Sonny is dead, too. Maybe they were walking and talking and Miggy just happened to follow them in. And yeah, he is definitely a copy of Jason so far.
  7. Randall could just get some official mail sent to his apartment building to establish residency. However, in Philly, you must be a resident for a year to qualify - https://www.philadelphiavotes.com/en/candidates-a-campaigns/requirements-for-office
  8. The hours have changed - it is capped at 24 hours - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_resident_work_hours#American_regulation Starting July 1, 2017, the ACGME raised the maximum number of consecutive hours a first year resident can work from 16 hours to 24 hours - however, they wanted to raise it to 28 hours
  9. I'm 28 and I have no idea who Barbara Mandel is.
  10. I've been up for 36 hours straight, things get odd around 42, because around hour 30, you get a second wind, then it goes away around 38. But I was in a hospital room the entire time, so I wasn't doing anything rigorous
  11. In my part of NJ we have PreK-K (1 school), 1-4 (uhhhh like 5 or 7?), 5-6 (2), 7-8 (1), 9-12 (1). NJ has approx. 581 public school districts, they all have very different structures - every county has their own school district, too - they are usually county level magnet schools and vocational schools. Let me check this list to see how many HSes there are in NJ - there are 511 secondary schools in NJ, so let's go with the 590 figure on that page - there are 21 counties in NJ, something like 565 towns, so 586 school districts between the counties and towns - the rest are outliers. In NJ, we have a lot of <2 sq mi towns - these towns tend to have K-8 schools (Usually split K-5, 6-8 or K-6, 7-8), then they, along with all of the other tiny towns around them band together and have a regional high school - they sometimes have their own district, sometimes they are part of another district (Like Tenafly Public Schools in the case of Alpine) and then the LEA (Local educational agency, the district they live in, also called a sending district) pays tuition to the HS district (aka a receiving district).
  12. She did - I think they showed her near the end?
  13. ...I have never seen that. Where are you located? I am certified to teach in NJ, no gum allowed here. I was thinking they had gum in their mouths because this is some kid of weird charter school that is in some kind of weird trailer thing? and the teacher hadn't settled things down yet because parents are in the class for some reason, so the teacher may be hoping they are keeping control of their kids
  14. I can buy Brad Garrett's character showing kids Shawshank
  15. I've never seen the actor who plays Trevor before Good Place (well, nothing that I particularly remember him from, at least) - I enjoyed it. He was a bit grating by the end of this episode, but he was in just enough to not be super annoying
  16. At least acting up at the house showing makes sense - they were kids who recently lost their father, they aren't going to be perfect
  17. Yuuup. ADHD is a weird one, it occurs with a whole slew of disabilities
  18. I thought it was the end of the first week of school? They lived in Pittsburgh - I don't think they would've traveled 6 1/2 hours to look at a house they weren't seriously considering buying Can be as early as 2:15 for some high schools, especially in the suburbs - and as late as 3:45 for elementary. However, I believe they send the kids to a private school, so who knows what the hours are there, probably something like 8-3 plus or minus 30 minutes.
  19. Yes, but with Shaun, they are probably amplified.
  20. That might be it - definitely fits with Chidi. He probably wants something "perfect" for him to consider to be his big paper. Or maybe he is working on another degree.
  21. I believe they did not say who he ended up using - but I assumed it was the one he disliked/disliked him. I think with Lea, we are supposed to not hate either - Shaun has a history of abandonment and abuse in his childhood - he isn't used to someone just coming back after leaving (as far as I recall, he has not seen his parents since the night him and his brother ran away, and then his brother died and obviously did not return from that). It's something he needs therapy for, and something Lea needs to understand (Though she probably does not know about his abusive upbringing in detail)
  22. Alpine to Pittsburgh is 6 hr 25 min - https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Alpine,+New+Jersey/Pittsburgh,+Pennsylvania/
