  1. So, Max is quite the idiot, isn't he. He will still be a patient if he is undergoing radiation. Radiation is not some magic bullet that you have no side effects from - as he was being told when getting the tattoo, he will need a tube to eat due to the effects of the radiation.
  2. If there were Popeyes too - there are not many of those in NJ, either (They just started coming here in force in the last ~5 years)! There are ads on TV all the time, though. The closest one to Alpine is in Yonkers - which would make it an even longer trip! I checked google maps - and there is apparently a Cracker Barrel right near the NJ-PA border - which is still 55 minutes from Alpine! Popeyes certainly has more locations in NJ than Cracker Barrel. Silly This Is Us.
  3. True. But that is my point - it shows that the treatment *is* affecting Glassman. Yeah, a neuropsych evaluation is very long - and I Imagine one done pre-cancer treatment would be rather extensive, especially since it is a brain cancer, they'd want to check every faculty they can test with a neuropsych evaluation.
  4. Maybe she was there because she had a patient involved? Pure Genius! That was one of the three "libertarian takes over a vital service" shows that season
  5. True. Bureaucracy is fun! I spent the first half of 2017 dealing with social security because their software had an error and counted things wrong and demanded 26k from me (They ended up overpaying me like 3200 in SSI due to incorrect statements by multiple representatives). That took like 2 visits + 3 phone appointments. Ooh, or earlier this year when it took my dad and I six phone calls to insurance over 10 weeks or so to get them to pay thousands of dollars in claims. They claimed I wasn't covered, they sent paperwork saying I was, their system said I was covered on the customer rep side, but not in billing. It was super fun. JJ helping them navigate the bureaucracy due to his observing Maya handle it for him would be very fun - if they handled it for JJ, I hope the show would do it decently, but they don't exactly have the... nuance they did in season 1 - so having JJ being involved in big brother mode would be great.
  6. Well didn't Michael say some philosopher was punished by having to do a test or presentation every single day in the nude then he got some "traditional" punishment afterwards. The issue is that the demons have no creativity, outside of Michael, they use a blunt instrument when they should try to tailor the punishment a bit - they do one-size-fits-many punishments.
  7. To be fair, he should remember the name of Shaun's brother - he is an important person to Shaun. Him forgetting the name could be a sign of cognitive dysfunction, but more testing than a handful of papers would need to be done - Dr. Glassman needs a full blown neuropsych eval, a fun 6 hours of answering questions :D
  8. Optics, too - having the president go there when he had no personal stake in it could be a reward for Laos failing the report
  9. One thing wrong - there's only like one Cracker Barrel in NJ - and it is on the opposite end of the state from Alpine - it's probably a 90 minute ride. Would've been easier for Toby to head into the city than go down the turnpike on Thanksgiving! So, Miguel's kids were in Scarsdale - this is the first time the geography has made sense. Alpine is only like 30 minutes from there. My mom had a cell phone in like 97 or 98 - not a flip phone, though. Her's was around that thick, though.
  10. I think it'll get a 4th season just because of the third season rule - unless this season doesn't get a back 9, or gets cut short again, then it is up in the air. But if it gets a back 9 or if the order doesn't get cut much, we'll get a fourth season - because after the purchase of FOX goes through, they have 100% ownership of Speechless. Him losing his practice or his job seems like the natural progression of things for next season - probably have a throwaway joke about how even a dental school won't hire him as an adjunct or something. That episode sounds entertaining, but I am wondering why Ray and Dylan are taking on government bureaucracy? Maybe they are looking into things for JJs future, like planning for the future. I think Kenneth, Jimmy, and JJ going to a social security office, or some kind of other government bureaucracy (voc rehab, maybe?) could be entertaining - since they are used to having Maya cut down all of the red tape with a swipe of her hand. And, well, you can just picture Kenneth being shocked at how packed & busy it is - especially voc rehab, since at least for the two places my voc rehab counselor has been at, it's in the back of the department of labor offices - so you have to walk by people filling out unemployment paperwork, all kinds of fun stuff - and I imagine Kenneth has filed for unemployment in the past, probably after his basketball career tanked.
  11. Probably hired him as an associate or one of those generic catch-all job titles stores have.
  12. So with Shawn and Glassman - why are they saying he is losing his memory? He's having memory issues and cognitive dysfunction, he isn't suddenly going to develop amnesia. And, you think a renowned neurosurgeon like Dr. Glassman would have gotten a neuropsychological evaluation before the surgery to have a baseline for after surgery/radiation/chemo!
  13. It would have made much more sense if Conrad talked to Henry after the meeting to get his ethical opinion on it, since, uhhhh, that level meeting is not something an adviser to the president needs to be in. He could get some cliffnotes afterwards from the president, but he doesn't need the full briefing
  14. An antispasmodic makes sense - same with a blood thinner - especially if the uncle's heart medication is a blood thinner - you don't want to double up on blood thinners. They seemed concerned - their first instinct was jump into the car and head to the ER. I have epilepsy, been on a total of 9 meds (currently on two meds) and yeah, some have interesting side effects (One of them increased the frequency of my seizures and another gave me full body muscle and joint pain!). After the ER doctor said everything was fine, I stopped worrying for him because this isn't that kind of show where they would have anything super serious happen to the main character. They would've led with that. I agree that Ray was pretty creepy - they should have ended it with Ray being kicked out of the room, because at least "this kid is so boring he helps me give birth" is funny - the skin-to-skin that Ray did, that was not good. They should've just had it be him being caught unbuttoning his shirt to rest the baby on him, not practically being undressed. They definitely should have used Billy better - maybe this will come back to bite Billy - I mean every time we see him, he is worse off - maybe next time his medical license will be suspended or he'll be under some kind of probation due to anyone seeing that lidocaine fight reporting it. I'm wondering how he was standing if he injected his legs with the lidocaine. Billy probably wrote the script, brought it to the hospital pharmacy, and got it filled. It would make a lot of sense for a hospital to have some novocaine, or maybe it was subbed with lidocaine, which hospitals would have boatloads of. I mean at this point it seems like Kenneth has adopted the DiMeos as his family, so he was there for Thanksgiving on his own free time, and probably thought "oh since i'm here i'll help JJ with his meds" Then he was at the hospital because he felt bad.
  15. With the prescriptions, I mean they bottles and labels looked similar - so he probably just grabbed the bottle, maybe the pills look somewhat similar, and gave it to JJ. It seemed like a regular routine, maybe nobody else in the DiMeo immediate family takes meds, so JJ would have the only prescriptions. Kenneth definitely needs a little break from JJ, maybe over JJ's winter break from school. Now I am wondering what JJ takes meds for.
  16. Maybe Janet has some Dereks in her void that she was working on to try to correct her mistakes making the first one :D
  17. That was great. I hope we get Derek next episode. I think they will all just end up on Wikipedia's List of people who disappeared mysteriously: post-1970
  18. That was on your end. There was sound here You think Glassman would've gotten a neuropsychological evaluation before the surgery so he had a good baseline for post-surgery. I imagine a shelter might be overwhelming for Shaun - an adoption event held by a rescue might be more his speed, though. I don't think Glassman would have arranged anything with Lea, but I would not be surprised if he and Lea talked in-depth about Shaun after she came back, to make sure she was on Team Shaun and could help him cope after he dies.
  19. That is what I am hoping too - or he will be a creepy cult leader without a cult. Maybe a moose will be a member.
  20. I have struggled to find work too - 5 years out from finishing my degree, nothing. Haven't been able to look for 3 1/2 years, but still. Yup! They could've made it a multi-episode arc, but instead they went entirely for laughs with a total miss. If they had stayed with JJ quitting, they could've made this into a season-long arc where JJ tries to get a job and sees what kind of things he could do - they could make a career interest inventory entertaining - those things ask all kinds of weird questions
  21. Aren't places closed on Sunday in a lot of places? But I imagine at an airport these establishments would not be subject to those regs.
  22. I don't know if JJ could've been helping with paperwork - well maybe in the back, but definitely not a customer facing paperwork position. But are the positions in the back entry level? They could've even had JJ be a greeter and it would've felt better, because at least that is an actual job many stores have - not taking the "job" of a cardboard cut-out. If they wanted something comedic, they could've had JJ be loss prevention - those guys aren't allowed to touch customers anyway - JJ could just roll around the store and watch people!
  23. I liked this episode and I did not like JJ's storyline at *all* - Kenneth should have had a job already picked out for JJ with appropriate accommodations - he could've worked a customer service job with some accommodations - maybe have a camera on his board that projects to a TV (Since you know, they have a few screens at the customer service counters to display store messages, lottery numbers, whatever the manager wants) - if they had the equipment to do that, that could've worked. Instead, they had JJ go "well I had to prove myself and show you how I could do this job that you gave me without having a thing in mind!" That isn't how things work. The Maya plot was good, the Ray C-plot was enjoyable, the JJ plot was one of the worst storylines this show has done, imo.
  24. Both seasons of Good Place are on Netflix (at least in the US) My DVR didn't record it either! My parents had to watch it On Demand.
