Dunkin Donuts does this 2 or 3 times a year, no dressing up required. These are business promos, the Duggars and their greediness will not effect future advertising.

It's time to go back to buy used and save the difference.

Thinking of Wander & Maisie... and GEML too.

It is so sad. I can't tell you how many people I work with that have anxiety disorders and/or depression, in part, because they had to ignore their feelings for one reason or another. You can't spend a childhood stuffing your feelings and come out unscathed. Having feelings is as natural as pooping, and if you don't poop you implode or explode eventually. The same is true of suppressing feelings.

I don't give Jill a pass on ignoring signs of distress during her labor. It wasn't just her, it was her and a her baby. She recognized the signs and tried to pray them away. Praying through a difficult labor is one thing, but did she pray that the baby wouldn't inhale meconium into it's lungs?

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
GeeGolly replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
I don't think it's true. There is a pic in People and Mac & Mike are in Arkansas. I wouldn't think after all that has been happening she would leave 2 of her children behind for any length of time. -
In another thread it said Anna is with her mom. If she is Mac & Mike aren't with her.

With no disrespect, I can't do the work I do with defending people that live with a Mental Health diagnosis. While it is true that certain diagnoses have symptoms with religious components, the vast majority do not. I also have yet to come across a person that is not effected by mental illness is some fashion.

Nope. -
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that is what you meant, I was just adding that this happens with no intention sometimes. I doubt Jill knows of, or understands, transference, but it is a real occurrence in the helping field.

I'm a J name, and no one has named it yet. -
In the therapy world we encounter transference; when a client transfer their feelings of someone else (or a definition of someone, i.e. parent) to their therapist. Many times it can be negative feelings, but often times it is positive. If not addressed appropriately it can breed extreme dependence and/or putting their therapist on a pedestal, so-to-speak. I would guess this could happen often with Midwives due the the time, attention and intimacy of the relationship between patient and Midwife. IMO, this certainly could lead to many a conversion.

Home schooling is much like public schooling, some are better than others. There is also a movement of unschooling. Each state has their own regulations on education, I believe Arkansas' are lax in comparison to other states, and I think I read that Massachusetts is somewhat stricter. There is no way the Duggar children are at risk of being removed. And most of what bothers a lot of us posters is done within the Duggar's religion, and that gives them added protection.

When they lost their kids they went to a hotel?!? But when they have their kids they live without creature comforts??

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

True about public schooling, but in this day & age most would need a college degree or a specific trade to comfortably support a family of 6, neither of which Josh has. -
Buffy fans here too, but from years ago. It was one of a few shows that the entire family enjoyed when our kids were pre-teens and teenagers.
