Allegedly before the change Meri and Janelle could not sell or will their shares in CP without Kody’s approval— now they can. It can be part of their respective estates.

It seems as if Kody is trying to obfuscate the line between family money an his and Robyn’s money. He better be careful about what he claims as mortgage applicationincome vs. what he claims on his tax returns— the IRS may come calling.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Adiba replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I’m going to be devil’s advocate here and guess that maybe Kody was contributing financially for Truely and has since stopped? Christine said she wanted to be friendly when she first left Kody, so maybe that's why she didn't file right away. Things obviously went south in that area and possibly Kody has not visited Truely nor financially contributed in a long time— then Christine sees the McMansion listing and Aurora’s $5,500 Maisano bear statue (the “Aurora “) and finally decided to file formally. This is obviously just my speculation— I agree that Christine should have filed long ago. -
There is a well-known chess academy in Charlotte, maybe Tony is working there? Charlotte is a banking city— he could always get a bank job, too..

Maybe his room was the downstairs family room? -
Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!

I hate the architecture of this house— the exterior is depressing. The inside layout and that hideous built-in in the great room give me a headache. It is a large home in a very nice setting, though and the view rom the porch is lovely. -
Audrey’s maiden name is Botti— her middle name is Mirabella..

Yes, I should have said that she was speaking out for him (which is what she was, really) regarding some people blaming him for Garrison's death. It was definitely aimed at those who were targeting Kody rather than just a general statement about how no one is to blame for another person's act of suicide (btw, I agree). My daughter has had two suicide attempts (she did not succeed, thankfully) and I know now that it is a very complex issue. She has gotten professional help, but has had mental health struggles including a recent stay in the behavioral health unit over the Christmas holiday, in part because she decided to stop taking her meds. She is an adult and no one can force an adult into any king of mental health or addiction treatment--so no, I do not blame Kody.

I feel that Meri was, and in some ways still is, very "proprietary" over Kody. As if he was somehow more "hers" because she was there first. Meri felt that she and Kody started this family together--it was "theirs." And until Robyn came in and staged a bloodless coup, Meri still felt that way despite her failing relationship with Kody. Even after Garrison's death, Meri was defending Kody on one of her lives. I'm not saying she was wrong, but why doesn't the man defend himself if he is being unfairly blamed? I don't see Kody defending Meri against any abuse accusations.

Re: bolded--I agree. I think that the aim of this piece is not to show Donny as a perfect person or victim, but to show the complexity of human nature and how our choices may affect circumstances and the people around us. Donny can be a victim and unlikeable at the same time. Martha can be a stalker and an occasionally sympathetic character at the same time. Donny's first interaction with Martha was merely a kind gesture. However, I think the damage in Martha saw the damage in Donny and vice-versa-- at least subconsciously-- and the situation snowballed from there. If Richard Gadd wanted to portray himself as a perfect victim, he wouldn't have included his bad decisions and the effect they had on his loved ones in the series.

The seating arrangement bugged me, too laurakaye. Why wasn't Kody sitting next to his mother? Why did he have to grasp Robyn's knee/lower thigh during what looked like a moment of silence? She was actually turned away from him at that moment towards Genielle. The body language seemed off to me. It's a little nit-picky, but I definitely noticed it. I do understand that as Garrison's father he should be in the front row, and Robyn as his wife would sit next to him, but it bugged nonetheless. Also, apparently Mykelti was on her Patreon say that she and Tony were getting "ripped apart" in the comment section of the NV National Guard pics. I saw overwhelmingly positive comments, with a few regarding her sneakers and Tony's hat. If you want to be on the show and making $$ from Patreon, Mykelti, you're going to have to grow thicker skin.

S18.E23: Christine & David’s Wedding Special (Part One)
Adiba replied to Scarlett45's topic in Sister Wives
I have to say that the wedding venue is stunning! Christine and David couldn’t have picked a more beautiful setting for their ceremony. If I ever get out to Utah, I’d love to stay at that lodge. -
Robyn Brown: She wanted the family, but got stuck with the man.
Adiba replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Actually, if Robyn ever did leave Kody, I shudder to think how he’d react. He has put Robyn up on a pedestal and seems to base his whole life around the fact that he has a “perfect” soulmate. -
Speaking of the ring story, why wasn't Kody asked about it as well as Meri? It was his story to tell, too. The producers pitted two women against each other rather than holding the man who did the horrible thing accountable! Even if he refused to answer why he did it, it would have been more fair to at least have asked the question and watch him squirm.
-
Not that Meri cares about my opinion, but here's my 2 cents worth-- I think she needs a softer look around the face. Her eyes are striking, but the rest of her features are a little "coarse?" if I'm using the term correctly. The extreme side part does her no favors, either; she should choose an off-center or less severe side part, imo. The color is nice, but why is the hair so stiff looking? For all the messy look, it doesn't seem to have much movement.

Right, because he’s full of 💩! Robyn never remembers anything that doesn’t fit her narrative— she’s the Kato Kaelin of Sister Wives.
-
I went back and watched episodes when Kody was courting Robyn and in a few scenes he definitely was wearing a gold wedding band that appeared to have a few tiny diamonds. It was not a claddagh ring. Robyn lied.
-
There’s too many secrets in this family. Meri loves to have secrets between her and another person — she gives off “I know something you don’t know 🎶” energy.
-
I know it would never happen but I think the property should be split differently, with Meri and Janelle each getting 4 acres(shares) and Kody and Robyn getting 6 (as a unit). They are the ones legally married and only need one home/household between them. Arizona is a community property state so Robyn and Kody are entitled to a portion of each other's assets should they split up (unlikely, imo) or one of them dies. Family money was used for part of the McMansion, which currently only belongs to K&R--and unless they are going to pay Meri and Janelle back, K&R should get less of the CP property. Robyn has said that her assets will go to her kids only, and if Kody dies before her (which is statistically likely), all of Kody's assets will go to her unless he states otherwise specifically in a will.
-
When asked by Meri if he intended the family lot to go to the kids, Kody started to say "No" but Robyn shut him up real quick.
-
I agree, it’s almost “King Lear-like,” isn’t it? i imagine that when Kody is old and infirm, the kids who received the most favor will be the ones who give him the least attention.
-
Kody likely dragged his feet about paying off the lots so that Janelle and Meri would step in to avoid foreclosure. Instead, Kody spent money on new jewelry for both himself and Robyn, artwork, a new four-wheeler, minibikes, etc. Mykelti said that Kody thought of art as an investment rather than keeping $ under a mattress— perhaps it’s to hide money from the OG wives or the IRS?
-
I could do without rehashing the catfish situation except for Meri to say she felt lonely and emotionally abandoned by Kody and therefore got seduced by the attention given to her. I’d rather hear about how the legal divorce affected her and how it actually came about, why they really moved to Flagstaff, what $$ was used to buy the McMansion, who contributed $$ for Coyote Pass, etc.
-
It could be true--didn't she say she got pregnant sometime in March? Twins may come early, too so they may actually have been born and for whatever reason, Kail is keeping quiet for now.
