  1. About 2 mins into this episode I had to stop asking questions that involved logic or continuity in order to slog my way through the rest of it. Look, show, we've had some good times. Were there bad episodes? Yes. Were there complete wastes of characters, story arcs, and entire seasons? Yes. Were there literally 1,000 things I should have done with the hours I spent watching you? Yes. Am I going to waste a few more hours to see you through until the end? ... ... yes. Dammit.
  2. January 28th. A girl. Finally she got her girl. Ensley Jolie Eason is her name. ENSLEY?!? I can't do this anymore.
  3. Holy guacamole, this post made me really, really miss the Dawson's Wrap/TWOP recaps. Now that it's streaming on hulu, I'm rewatching the series (for what might be the 8th time)(only God can judge me) and I would love to be able to read them as I went along. Are the archives accessible anywhere? One of the best running gags (no pun intended) from the recaps were things to which Dawson's hair was compared. My personal favorite involved "a rabid croissant" mating with something I cannot remember, but was probably hilarious. Good times, good times.
  4. Also, never realized how much of a Marty Stu Sam was until I rewatched them. He's brilliant! And a polyglot! And knows martial arts! And can sing! And dance! And play guitar and piano! And has a photographic memory!
  5. QL was 100% my favorite show when it was airing. I remember begging my parents to be allowed to stay up to watch it when it came on at 10 PM. I actually rewatched the entire series a few years back. No, it doesn't hold up. Much of it was actually kind of cringe-worthy. I'm never going to pretend that I didn't love it, though.
  6. I have to say that I am really enjoying this show. I just finished rereading the books and I liked them even more the second time again. I'm not even bothered by departures from the book, mostly because I didn't want the books to end, so the show is like continuing to explore the Magicians universe. Loving the actors, the sets, and most of the writing on the show.
  7. Is it very wrong that I was kind of hoping that Bertie would leave Edith at the altar so that he could run away with Barrow to Tangiers?
  8. I'm not gonna lie ... I got a little misty when Alaric told Caroline he named one of the babies Elizabeth. Maybe Klaus will make some horsey drawings for the twins.
  9. RE: the "blindness" of the runway judging: I have it on excellent authority that the judges watch the runway show without the contestants present first and then bring them back for a second walk to be filmed for the show.
  10. I'd forgotten how desperate Constantine was to give America an STD with his eyes. Thanks for reminding me, show!
  11. I remember seeing Kris Allen sing "Man in the Mirror" on the top 36 during his season. He hadn't been featured at all prior to that, so I was all "Who the heck is that guy?" followed by "Please let that man stay on my television for a few more weeks at the very least."
  12. That was soooooooo dull. I barely even remembered any of the performances after watching them.
  13. I think you're dead on with that. I also think this general idea explains why TV Quentin is more likable than book Quentin. I just finished rereading the first book and, although I did not think it was possible, I disliked Q even more the second time around. He's just so whiny and immature and entitled. As I was reading, I couldn't even remember why I came to like him over the course of the next two books. I just kept thinking: "What an interesting story. Why can't it be from Alice's POV so I could enjoy reading it?" If the TV show featured such an unlikable protagonist (and not an anti-hero, just a petulant ass), no one would watch it.
  14. Gianna can go now. Loved seeing Fantasia again. Forgot how much I enjoyed watching her perform. Nick was a snoozefest. Didn't watch last season and am not sad that I didn't.
  15. I haven't actually watched a season in its entirety since the Kris Allen season because Adam Lambert ruined the show for me. Every other contestant just seemed so ... uncompelling (can't think of a better word right now) in comparison. I watched a little bit of the Scotty McCreery season and a few clips of some of the performers from last season, but that was it. I'm watching this season because it's the last one. I don't see any breakout stars in the making, but I do think it'll be an entertaining season. Can't believe Jessica Cabral got kicked off but Gianna is still in the mix. Have no idea who Jenna Renae is. I liked Avalon a lot and hope they don't do a whole "look at what happens when we put lipstick and a skirt on her!!!" makeover garbage. Looking forward to shooting eye-daggers at Shelbie and Jordan until they get the boot.
  16. Great. I just decided that I kind of want to make out with Dalton and then discovered that he's only 20. Gross, me. Gross.
  17. I don't follow Sam on his public social media accounts b/c I'm not much of a social media person, so I have no idea how he comes across on those fora. I'm obviously quite biased in his favor but fear not ... I won't waste too much valuable internet space defending him or attempting to reassure people that he is indeed a lovely person IRL. :)
  18. Having read that they renamed Janet's character as "Margo" because they were afraid viewers would confuse Julia with Janet made me wonder why they couldn't just find a person who was not an attractive brown-haired white lady to play both Margo and Julia (and Kady and Mariana).
  19. Thanks for the reply and the link to that article! I didn't like Quentin until halfway through the second book, and then only really really got to like him in the final book. I read the first one pretty shortly after it was published, but wasn't in love with it. I found Q so whiny and selfish and generally disliked most of the other major characters as well. I put off reading the other two until about a year ago, fully expecting to be bored with them. Totally wrong. Loved both of them and came to really admire the way Grossman turned what I thought was an unlikable jerk into a hero (even a monomythical hero). I found Julia off-putting at times, but ultimately appreciated her as well. So far I really like the casting. I didn't like Eliot in the books much, but I think the actor they've got playing him is doing a great job. Also, Hot Penny > moon-faced Penny for sure.
  20. Adam Lambert is probably my favorite Idol performer, but I will ogle Kris Allen like a mofo any time he is on my screen wearing a tight white T-shirt.
  21. Unfortunate indeed. Take it from random internet stranger me: he's a sweetheart.
  22. Aw, I love Sam from UTG (mostly because I know him IRL and he's a lovely person). If he weren't on I'd be skipping this season for sure. This franchise has gotten super stale.
  23. Haven't seen the ep in a long time, but doesn't he escape at the end by, like, pretending to need to tie his shoelaces?
  24. BONNIE: This is necromancy. RIC: I put the "romance" in "necromancy"! BONNIE: That is a persuasive argument. also, this show is so much better without Elena.
