"...Callie asks Amelia if the other/better Dr. Shepherd is going to be helping her in the surgery..." It's worse than that. Callie doesn't use the word "better" or even "other". She says "will Doctor Shepherd be helping you", not even thinking that she's talking to Doctor Shepherd at that moment. Even in her own "masterclass" Amelia is not the default meaning of that name.

All the attention on current russian spies makes me wonder. The soviet system was so fractal. Every level of government was a copy of the top, each with its own soviet, its own ministries, bureaucrats, party functionaries, military, and yes its own KGB. I like to think that somewhere in Moscow there was an agency tasked with ensuring that everyone got their fair share of dissidents as well. Anyway, post breakup, most of these structures survived. We keep hearing, well the KGB changed its name to the FSB. Well the part that went with Russia did. But Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan, etc all had KGBs too, I'd like to hear what they're doing.

Trip scheduling and guidance for US citizens at Intourist. I still want to see Stan go to Moscow around 1992. He walks up to traveller's aid desk and-- "Hey, neighbor!". Later they all get smashed together at the bar of the Bolshoi Theater.

This is a good idea, but if it is to be about all the music, it needs a different title. I reccommend something like "Harps and Honey".

Well lets see. Why are they destroying Meredith's character? Isn't the central character of a show supposed to be someone we love? Or at least love to hate? They have a transsexual patient, yay! I wish they could have done a fresh angle, though. Like, speculating that that's what's going on with the anomalous estrogen reading while he's unconscious; then when he wakes up he indignatly denies it, and it turns out to be some exotic tumor or metabolic glitch. But, nope, they have a transsexual patient ore or less by accident. Time to really put that 3d organ printer to the test. Nude follies at Chez Ellis. I'm beginning to think there's some sort of quota. But they could follow it up next week with Alex trying to show Jo that it's uncool by letting it all hang out himself. Then when Meredith shows up, Jo surprises herself by decking her in a flash of jealous rage. This will lead to the two of them becoming better friends, of course.

S01.E13: Mama's Here Now
dr pepper replied to Tara Ariano's topic in How To Get Away With Murder [V]
Mama came across a stereotype from the 70s. I kept expecting her to accuse Anna of "acting white". That being said, Cicily Tyson really made the part work. Also, in spite of her rant about how the world is full of men in authority who are always "taking", she's savvy enough to understand that there are more opportunities for women to be takers too nowadays. And i think that seeing Wes seated on the bed at Anna's call look familiar to Mama (albeit with the sexes reversed) which was why she instantly told him to leave. And that short verbal glimpse of a society and a generation in which girls were so routinely "got at" was handled with great skill-- there and gone before the horror caught up with the viewer. That being said again, i think Tyson is too big for that role, she deserves a show of her own. -
I wouldn't have minded if Olivia had gotten killed. Her crew could back to coverups for hire without her and they wouldn't even have to change the name. No presidents, no auxiliary governments, just celebrities trying to maintain their reputations. I'd watch that. Unfortunately, i expect the writers to contrive some crisis that requires he and Fitz to get back together.

But that's just it-- most of the people who get things done in this show are former victims of B613. Or of Olivia Pope Associates. Who bought Olivia? How about the the thuggish corporate backer in the original election fixing conspiracy? I forget his name. But he had a lot of connections. Hmm, i also forget if he's dead or not, but if he is, then it turns out he was dead like Mama Pope was dead.

Lots of shows have main characters who can't have relationships, or sometimes any sex at all, without their partner dying; personally i think it's overused. Agreed on Andrew's father. I did get a villain vibe from him. Not surprised at the fast death (or at least collapse). "Hemlock" doesn't have to mean that the actual plant was used; it could be a concentrated extract, or even a synthetic analog with greater potency.

In the original Holmes story, she blinds him with sulfuric acid.

Could that have been any more cliche? A "fellow prisoner" to sympathize with. "Street noise", including a call to prayer, from the outside. An obvious dream sequence, from which she woke up into another. Albeit i was a bit disappointed that Jake didn't join them in the shower for a threesome. The only surprise for me was that Tom was just in the dream. I thought it would turn out that he was the boss and that he had been visiting her while she was unconscious, trying to prompt her into revealing more information. Disappointed.

Will Resurrectioin be renewed for Season 3?
dr pepper replied to Living Dead's topic in Resurrection [V]
Agreed, but if i had to choose, i'd rather see the french show renewed. -
Spoiler tags aren't opening for me.

My prediction: the search for Kitty's assailant will require consultations with Irene/Moriarity.

I'd like to see everyone's speculations on the First Mole storyline. I think the senator thinks she's exploiting a typical case of "ivory tower academic idealist appalled by the actions of real world pragmatist". never guessing that he has a deeper agenda and is collecting as much information from her as he;s providing. And what's the game? Not sure, but i'm hoping he turns out to be an old fashioned leftwing revolutionary who wants to take down all sides.

I'd like to see Kalinda kill Bishop in his own home, then clean out his safe. She leaves behind evidence that suggests it was some former associate of his, maybe takes one of his suits and leaves it crucified to the wall of one of his work sites. Then she uses the money to disappear and reinvent herself. The last thing she does before erasing her current identity is to send Alicia an "i'm fine, just had to go, don't look for me" message.

Our intrepid explorer returns to Africa and comes back with Tarzan. A violent feud between two inventors leads to London's first automobile chase. Someone's life is saved by a dose of Tono-Bungay.

Oh and i'd also like to say, one of the things i liked best about the show was that the judge was still driving her old college sex van. And then they killed it (:

I think the wardrobe people meant for Cruella Dogskinner to look like Paris Hilton in the role for Halloween. But they got Courtney Love instead. Also: when did she get magic?

One good thing has come out of this show, finally. I now know what to call my riot grrl band: Heroin and Nunchuks!

Personally, i think the use of Blackbeard is cheating. He's not a fairytale character, a folklore character, or even a victorian storybook character. He's a real historical thief and murderer, and his incorporation damages the suspension of disbelief.

I liked her too. She's the new Endora.

Oops, i missed that one. And i was so proud of myself that i figured out who Rowena was as soon as the henchdemon went to tell Crowley she was captured. I miss Damian (and Raoul). Anyoneone know where he went?

Chicago Fire Chicago PD And both are constantly going out to Chicago Med Is there a new show in the works? Is Dick Wolf building a new empire, um, franchise?

I hope the show comes back, if only to take another stab at coherence. Meanwhile, i am reminded of two scifi stories from the 70's. The first was called "The Horus Mission". It was in Analog and was about the technological management of reincarnation and what to do when a target soul doesn't end up in the body that was selected for it. I forget the name of the second story. It was about a society of schizoids. Every body had two completely seperate persons in it, each with its own life, work, friends, and rights. The persons were colloquially known as heads. Shifts were supposed to be scheduled, but usually one head, called the hyper alter, had the ability to force a shift. In one scene this happens, but oops, the other head was flying a plane and the alter has no flying ability at all. There's another scene where a personality is executed with a percision brain eraser.
