  1. The teams are going to add fireworks to the list of prohibited activities in players' contracts after this year. JPP apparently did lose a finger. Which could be why he wouldn't let the Giants' reps who came down to see him, actually you know, see him.
  2. I'm going to hate myself for this, but Kim has a right to set the boundaries for when she exposes herself to the world. They might be really far out boundaries, but she has the right to set them. Just like any other human being. No one has the right to violate them just because they are really far out boundaries. So no, just like no one had the right to spread the pics of Jennifer Lawrence around from the hack, no one has the right to take pics of Kim in private and publish them. And now I hate myself for defending this fame strumpet.
  3. I am seriously bummed Burt died. I use their lip balm, lipstick, hand cream, facial cleanser and cough drops. Lovely little company that seems genuinely nice. From their twitter feed Burt seemed like a regular guy that the money didn't change all that much.
  4. Stupid, stupid, stupid. IF this turns out to be bad, he just cost himself millions because he had to show off. Leave the firworks to the professionals.
  5. It's Scott's turn to be thrown under the bus. He's the only guy left other than Kanye and they sure aren't throwing Kanye under the bus. They needed a relationship drama storyline this season because Kimye's second kid is not enough. So this is it. Feel sorry for the kids though. They lose their father just because the show needs a story. These are not sitcom kids who go back to their real parents when filming is over.
  6. I for one am glad that SciFi has embraced the cheese that is Sharknado. Every scifi show doesn't have to be "dark" and "edgy" with deep ramifications for mankind today. Sometimes you just need to disconnect and watch Ian Zering cut his way ouf of a shark with a chainsaw.
  7. Just saw a new Papa John's commercial. I know it is about the deal Papa John's has with Live Nation, but the implications have me laughing my ass off. Papa is wearing some weird jacket. He asks the guy in the commercial (no clue who it is) if he likes it. The guy says very emphatically "I do." O. M.G. Almost fell off the couch laughing.
  8. Tootie went to college. They showed her rushing a sorority. She was going to skip college because she thought she had a part with a touring company, but then she found out just before she had her graduation party she didn't have the part. So off to Langley she went.
  9. Wait people don't like Hastings from Poirot? How the hell not? He was a good decent guy trying to face a new world after WWI. Sure he wasn't as smart as Poirot, but Poirot was a smug little git that you wanted to slap. Hastings was the one you wanted to take home.
  10. The show really didn't celebrate the South. Sure they were proud to have ancestors who fought for the South. Sure the horn played Dixie. But they treated everyone with respect. And the COMPETENT sheriff was the one over in Chickasaw county who was Black. Hmmmmmmmmm. As for naming the car after General Robert E. Lee, General Lee WAS asked to lead the Union troops. He declined because he did not want to fight against fellow Virginians. One of the only 2 people to go through West Point with 0 demerits (General MacArthur was the other one). He was descended from a long line of military heroes including Revolutionary War, General Harry Lee. So, there is a lot more to General Lee's legacy than 4 years when he led the South.
  11. Jo was out of college and working for a while before she got married. So that puts her around 24 maybe 25 (since she is the same age as Blair who was finishing law school and thinking of opening her own firm). Which is just about right. Tootie was engaged when the show ended and she was probably close to finishing college. Again, not too terrible early. None of them got married right out of high school (well Jo did run off IN high school to get married) but it didn't happen. Speaking of Blair and law school -- we never saw her stressed out. We never saw her trying to be on Law Review or talking about it. And why did she have to open her own law firm, if every generation of the Warners had a lawyer why is there not a Warner, Warner & Warner where she could go work? Sorry, being a lawyer these things stick out more than they did then.
  12. Only about 2% of cases actually go to trial. Which is a good thing. We really don't have the court capacity to hear everything. But you can bet that this one won't settle until after the discovery phase. No one in their rights minds would miss the chance to depose these yahoos under oath. Especially if the person is a former fundie. Heck we don't even know if she was fundie to begin with. This family accepts free help from anyone regardless of belief.
  13. Also, they always rerun the episodes the next week right before the new ep. So on the 14th, we get a block in the afternoon of the last few episodes. Oh right, next week is Shark Week, no Deadliest Catch.
  14. This is great. For all Kim wants to be known as a businesswoman, fashion icon, mother, she will never be more than a porn star. Not even a reality star, a classless, trashy, for rent porn star.
  15. When you look for outside things to validate your existence: money, fame, marriage, kids, you wind up unhappy because those things cannot fill you up. You have to have something inside you to hold onto. That's why Kim has dead eyes, there is no there there. It's why she is miserable because the outside things didn't fix the lack of there and she has run out of outside things to try.
  16. Hell, tight clothes make one look thinner? Really? No they show all the bulges so you look FATTER. Loose clothing hides things. Properly fitted clothes for your body shape make you look better.
  17. The problem is there is no standard. If you want the standard to be probable cause, then fine that's the standard. If you want it to be beyond reasonable doubt then fine that is what it is. But make a standard, make it clear what the standard is and follow it. Right now the standard seems to be "I looked into his eyes and he told me he was sorry." That's what Michael Vick did. That's what Ray Rice did. That's why they originally got off light (Vick wasn't even punished until the truth came out). Brady and Peterson wouldn't do that and got hammered. Of course, when the truth came out about Vick and Rice, Goodell overreacted because they lied to him. It was never about what they actually did but Goodell's butthurt at being lied to. I was okay when he was chosen as Commish. Heck, he'd been in the League all his adult life, he had to know how it worked. You don't get to be Commish off the street, so he had to have managed people and overseen complex issues. Yet, in action, it comes down to how he feels about something personally. That is not a good way to run an organization that basically mints money but is reaching saturation point. P.S. Not a fan of DeMaurice Smith of the NFLPA either.
  18. Shark week is boring. Oooh look another documentary about sharks. When they try to spice it up with a faux documentary everyone gets their panties in a knot. Try living in the county where Disco is headquartered. Not only do they put a damn shark on their building, but everyone covers it likes its an amazing thing. The only plus side to having Disco here (besides jobs, jobs are good) is when the Deadliest Catch Captains sued. I thought I might see them around the courthouse, but alas, it settled before they had to show up for anything.
  19. You had to post Somewhere Out There. I'm sobbing now.
  20. RIP DIck Van Patten. He really was a great dad not only on tv, but to those kids in real life. He tried to help them out when they got in trouble.
  21. He was responsible for the music for quite a few movies: Glory, Titanic, Star Trek II, Willow, Apollo 13, etc. So many movies that I loved. Condolences to his family and friends.
  22. Yep, yep and yep. Double publicity this way. First the "leak." The the publicity of the denial. The the publicity of their own announcement. It's all done so there is a K in the headlines every week.
  23. Tootie's parents were lawyers, Natalie's dad was a doctor. Maybe they didn't have Blair kind of money, but definitely "parents pay for an apartment while they are in college" kind of money. The only one on scholarship was Jo. It would have made sense she lived over the store with Mrs. G., and the rest of the girls got their own apartment. Heck they could have gotten an apartment ala Three's Company with Tootie and Natalie sharing a room and Blair having her own space. There were lots of ways to have them interact with a need for a lot of sets.
  24. I watched it. A little distracted so not sure what was going on, but I'll stick around for it. I am a sucker for WW1 stories and am reading a mystery series about a WWI British Nurse.
