  1. Seattle couple...ugh! Where did these 2 come from? They were just awful. They are twentysomethings looking at homes with $700k budget and complaining about EVERYTHING! Mary doesn't like the first place because it shares walls and "that is her worst nightmare!" Victor doesn't like the second house because it's a dump, which I have to agree. But he says the non creepy basement "is his personal hell!" Say what?! The last place has a TINY yard and Mary thinks it's too small. While touring the house she complains that it doesn't "feel homey and charming." So they pick the last house because according to Mary, "it really feels like home." Huh? Then they are outside complaining about all the work and upkeep in their TINY yard, yet she still is complaining about wanting a bigger yard. Victor says mowing the lawn took a lot more work than he thought. Seriously?! You could cut the grass in less than 10 seconds!! I can't take the millennials on this show!
  2. I've only watched a small portion of the ep so far. I had to turn it off when it was announced that EVERYONE had to basically stop tending to their patients and look for Dr. Manning's ring. I know she was freaking out, and I would too, but wouldn't you call EVS to come down and go through the trash instead of the doctors and nurses?
  3. Ugh, this show!! First, if Otis is on medical leave from the firehouse, does that mean he's on leave from working at Molly's too? Second, DCFS doesn't mind Gabby hanging around all day to get a meeting? Shouldn't she be at work? And if Louie is going to be "difficult", with everyone except Gabby apparently, how is she going to find someone to take care of him while she's at the firehouse and at Molly's? Third, when they went into the building, how come none of the minor injured people got up until the firefighters came in and told them it was ok to go? They were conscious and walked out just fine so I thought that was odd. Finally, you're trying to tell me that Jimmy decides to run in to save his brother and NOBODY chases him and grabs him before he gets to the door? Everyone was just standing around, they could have easily caught him before he went inside. I wish more of the firefighters would be verbally disgusted/pissed at the scumbag parents with kids scenes besides Hermann. I know he's the only one that's married with kids besides the chief, but still...
  4. Probably because they really weren't his friends. They were probably the crew or random people of the street.
  5. As I was watching this ep, I was wondering what happened to Greer? The break was so long that I couldn't remember what became of him. Then I see the preview for next week and there he is! Looking forward to seeing him again...he plays evil so well.
  6. I didn't like the UES apt because the outdoor common area was right outside his front door. He mentioned though that he liked the "grittiness" of the alley to get to the front door. I can't get over the monthly fees! I know it's Manhattan and everything is super expensive, but still...For over $1200 a month, I at least expect a doorman. His desire for a dishwasher was laughable. He's a single guy, living alone in the city. Most of his eating is probably going to be outside of his apt. When he does eat at home, I doubt he's going to be preparing a Thanksgiving feast each time. It was refreshing to hear him mention that his grandmother left him some money in addition to the money he saved living at his mom's. I always wonder how these kids have $500k + for housing.
  7. Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong since I'm not a technology guru. I believe an open system has external interactions It allows you to share information. Where as a closed system are isolated from their environment.
  8. I loved the facial glitches in the beginning. I would love to see a blooper reel/outtakes for those scenes. Didn't Harold tell John in the first ep "You need a purpose. You need a job" just like the employment agent told the house painter? By Harold's reaction when first reading Root's shopping list, I thought she was asking him to pick up some ladies days supplies. I've watched this show since day one and I'm going to miss it when it ends. Besides the awesome writing and cast, I love that nothing is "dumb downed" for the viewer. (I'm looking at you CSI franchise, Law & Order, etc) The show basically explains everything through the storytelling, flashbacks, future episodes, etc; you just have to pay attention.
  9. Scootypuffjr, I understand what you're saying. I WAS one of those kids. My first house was new construction in a very nice neighborhood. I bought all the upgrades, bells and whistles. At the time, I was single with no children and made a lot of money. Fast forward a few years later...Moved out of the house to a different part of the country. Married with two kids and I'm a stay at home mom by choice. For me to stay home, we bought a much older, smaller house with ONE bathroom, ONE car garage, small closets, etc. So I feel like I've experienced both sides of the coin now. And honestly, I like my small house that doesn't have ss appliances, granite, walk in closets, etc more than my big fancy one. We've put a lot of sweat equity and pride into it. It feels like a HOME, not a house.
  10. That makes sense. I probably should watch the episodes in their entirety so I don't have to ask questions that could be answered if I just watched. I just can't bring myself to watch the "drama". Last week had the same tile issue not laying properly. Why is there never black mold issues or termites, or our credit card got declined so we can't finish the house because we are so broke, etc?
  11. I was hoping!! This finale was pretty lame. I never cared if Peter went to jail or not. I never cared about Alicia and Smirkey's relationship. I'd like to thank Diane though for slapping Alicia. Well deserved...both on screen and off. I wish Diane did it again and said "This is for treating your co workers like crap for the last few years!" Again, both on screen and off. I'm so glad this horrid show is over!!!
  12. I like subway tile, but for some reason, the kitchen tile looked like it belonged in the bathroom. I don't know if it was the size or it not being staggered. I agree about the outside changing rooms. They looked pretty grody before and after. I always fast forward through the construction/pretend drama. Was there a reason they couldn't scrape the ceilings themselves? Granted, it's time consuming and messy, but it's cheap and easy to do yourself. To save money, I would have scraped all the ceilings first before any of the reno started. I understand why they called the stepfather in if he was a plumber. They probably trust him and he probably worked for free. Hiring someone would have cost a pretty penny. I liked the master bathroom. It went with the style of the house and didn't look too overdone. I hate when people turn a small master bathroom into their "oasis" and it then becomes the biggest room in the house just so they can brush their teeth next to each other. The rest of the house wasn't memorable, especially for going $20k over.
  13. I never learned either, but only because I didn't want to (I still don't). One time I caught the oven on fire making a frozen pizza. I was probably Barry's age. What bugged me about that scene though is Bev probably had to clean that entire kitchen mess. I like how Murray opened up just enough to Adam for Adam to see why Murray is the way he is. It was definitely a more serious scene than this show usually does and both actors performed it wonderfully.
  14. Detroit couple...I always skip the beginning because I don't care about teir backstory, what they are looking for, etc. When they kept mentioning needing room the DR table, I expected some ginarmous, massive table. It looked like an average size table to me. Wife needed to kind of get over herself. Considering, she was insistent on not being near water because of the children's safety, they seemed to be taking their sweet time installing the fence. And when she told her husband he could hang his clothes in the other closet...downstairs. Seriously? I liked the first two houses.
  15. This show drives me crazy!! 1. I agree about the fancy ice cubes belong at a more upscale bar. 2. Who is Gabby going to hire to watch Louie since she works two jobs? And one of those jobs being a 24 hour shift, the other, I asuume the shift ends around 2am. 3. Louie is so sweet. He broke my heart...I wanted to take him home. 4. I HATE Stella! She does nothing for this show. They are trying to make her the next Gabby and it's not working. 5. Grab a ladder Stella...you can't hang drywall by jumping up to hang it. 6. I agree about the masks...buy one or two. See if they work, etc and then buy more. 7. I know Casey has a lot on his plate now, but considering his girlfriend's bar got damaged and he's in construction, couldn't he help out with the repairs? Obviously nothing is going to get done by Stella and Severide. 8. Otis, his storyline is lame. The writers really drop the ball on the secondary characters. Otis, Cruz, Mouch, Hermann. They deserve better than a few lines here and there and stupid storylines...can't work because of this disease that I suddenly show symptoms of even though I've had it my whole life or gang member crap or future crazy brother in law.
  16. Is William Fitcher returning to Prison Break for S5? They are filming in Canada so maybe that's why he's going to be gone for a few months.
  17. I don't like them in restaurants either. I would rather wait for another table than to be seated in a banquette. I feel like I'm dining WITH strangers instead of next to them. I like them in a house though IF it is an L shaped eating area. In this formal dining room, it just didn't work for me. I was super excited to watch this episode because I grew up in Elmhurst and go back often for family visits/events. However, I was disappointed that they only showed the one house in Elmhurst. They really couldn't find any other homes to show in Elmhurst or the surrounding towns? When the couple said they were attorneys and were mentioning everything on their wishlist, including living in Elmhurst, I assumed they were going to have a much higher budget. I chuckled when they said their max was $380k including renovations. And the house they chose was $345k?? Seriously? I know it's an affluent area, but still, I have seen some houses online (and in person) that were much more updated and under $300k in the area. I wish they would say what the properties taxes are on this show. They always mentioned HOA fees if applicable, but never taxes. I liked the painted ceiling in the kitchen and I liked the countertops. The kitchen was small and I know the designer had limited space, but it would drive me mad if all my prep work had to be done on the island because the counter space next to the stove and sink was so minimal. The bathrooms came out great - those dads did great work and saved them sooooo much money! I'm glad one of the dads acknowledged that. As much as I love Home Goods (and I know it was a plug), I find it difficult to believe that they found EVERYTHING she needed/wanted for the dining room in that store. The wife drove me crazy! She constantly repeated everything someone else said immediately after they said it. I wouldn't want to pay her attorney fee...it would cost me twice as much because of the time she would spend repeating! She didn't care if her husband got what he wanted, etc. Plus, she seemed very immature. The husband didn't bother me; I felt more sorry for him than anything. I don't understand how they still went $10k over budget considering 90% of the labor was free from their dads?!
  18. Unfortunately, I couldn't be on the show for a few reasons. 1.I don't live near Los Angles or Austin (the current filming locations). 2.I don't like/want an open concept design. 3.The producers and I would not be in agreement about the "script". I don't entertain. Ever. So, I wouldn't say that. I don't care about the style of the house. So, I wouldn't complain about that. I don't do drama, let alone fake drama. 4.I don't want a designer, I would want to design it myself. 5.I'm not willing to spend a ridiculous amount of money for a cabinet, island, sink, a bowl to display my lemons and limes, etc when it's totally not necessary. 6.My friends wouldn't be able to come over and see the "after" because I don't entertain. Ever. :)
  19. I noticed that his makeup seemed very thick and caked on tonight too. Hope he is ok.
  20. I noticed something was off about her. At first I thought she had plastic surgery. Then she was smiling so much, I thought she was high. After a few seconds of that, I realized she got new teeth. Like so many others that get work done, she looked better before. Who throws/hosts a party only to sit in their bedroom and watch TV? Or let's discuss Zach's personal family matter at the party we are hosting?! Or let me leave the party I'm hosting so I can go outside to discuss my relationship with my boyfriend?! Or let me answer my phone so I can talk to the only other lawyer in Chicago about my husband's arrest and how it involves Cary?! None of those situations could have waited until the next morning?? Good grief, I hate this show!! I'm so glad there are only 2 episodes left.
  21. NY to Austin episode: I wasn't a fan of the green cabinets and white island. I would have switched it - white cabinets/green island...a little of that green color goes a long way. I would have left the kitchen sink under the window instead of moving it to the island. I like islands with no sink, cooktops, etc. so I can spread out and have tons of space for prepping, etc. On the plus sides, I liked the screened porch. And Winslow was so cute! Erin, the wife looked so familiar to me.
  22. This would be awesome. And add Morgankobi's idea of Alicia going to Colin Sweeney's one last time.
  23. This episode was funny, but I was confused at the end when the girls "looked" like The Cure. I actually thought they were dressed like Culture Club (Boy George). Everything else seemed pretty accurate.
  24. Tonight's couple in Chicago drove me mad! Of course they went like $17k over budget. He was a complete tool! And she seemed way too excited to be with him. While they were touring the home, he said he would have to rip out the existing wood floors because they were installed on a diagonal?! In the end, he said they ripped them out because they didn't like the oak color because it dated the house. So wouldn't it have been so much cheaper to have them sanded and stained a darker color? Doing that would have saved them thousands! Then I saw that they spent $750 on bathroom ACCESSORIES!! I don't know what kind of towels and toothbrush holder they bought, but good grief!! They could have easily saved $500 there. I want to be on this show just to prove I could stick to my budget. If something unexpected came up, I would have to compromise, delay, or just not do something else so I could stick to my budget.
  25. I didn't understand the Sugarland couple either, except she wanted charm. They complained about needing 2 bathrooms, but got the house with 1 bathroom and it was the smallest! And it drives me mad when people complain about a bathroom and say "it's not a place where I'd want to spend a lot of my time." Ummm...it's a bathroom! Take a showet, brush your teeth, do your business. It's not like you're going in there to relax and watch TV or "entertain"!
