  1. What a talented musician! Whenever Beat It is played, I look forward to hearing his (uncredited...can you believe that?) section.
  2. The man who created autocorrect has died. Restaurant in peace.
  3. I missed this. So how did Don Lemon escape being accused of being OTT silly? I've never understood Lemon's popularity or how he's been able to hang onto his primetime show.
  4. A lot of teens like to hide behind their hair (do's). Way back in the day, yours truly wore her hair parted on the side... even ironed my hair so it would be even straighter (it was the thing to do). When I came home on break, adults called me Veronica Lake as my hair hung halfway over my face. I thought I looked cool.
  5. I opened the freezer, saw a Trader Joe's spanikopita...uhh...spinach in phyllo pie, and baked it for a quick & easy supper, with a Greek salad. It was tasty.
  6. I was like this just last night and ordered delivery. Wish we had a good pizza delivery near us. Tonight I made chicken piccata, baked tomatoes, peas, & Bob Evans mashed potatoes (Bob saves the day frequently here!)
  7. I hadn't been to a TJ's since the days of standing in line and I was out of my favorite items. Everything was great until I got 3/4's of the way through the store. I noticed *lots* of people around me. So I immediately went to check out. Next trip: go when they first open up!!
  8. I liked Katie's recipe even though the 2 cups of cream are kinda scary. Her baby is beautiful!! As I was watching Jeff prepare the pork chops, I figured I'll just grill them as I don't have a smoker. Loved the diced apples cooking with the onions. Heck, I can even use my grillade indoors. It's the cooked onion/apple combo + the fresh apples on top that will be so wonderful. Green apples & Macoun apples are so good.
  9. I just had a Trader Joe's breakfast: a slice of the Cinnamon Coffeecake & a slice of the Almond Danish Coffeecake. They're both small but oh so tasty. I couldn't decide which one to buy so I bought both.
  10. Hmmm...now I'm in the mood for Popeyes fried chicken sandwich on that good roll. I haven't even had breakfast yet 🌞
  11. It happened to my sister & me (& we were brought up to always say thank you for rides to school from neighbors, someone holding a door open, etc). We were trying to get her little, wandering grandson out the door of a restaurant & passed two men. One of them snottily said, "You're welcome". We were still dealing with a squirming tot but I turned and gave him The Look. I'm sorry but holding open a door does not require someone to thank you. I don't expect it when I hold a door open for others--it's just a helpful thing to do. So, maybe the folks who didn't say thank you were distracted like we were, or in a deep funk. As the song suggests, Let It Go.
  12. They're not talking all over each other while at home. Plus, their voices were way too loud in the studio. At home, their voices are at a normal level.
  13. Last night dinner was shrimp curry & basmati rice. And a glass of Prosecco.
  14. Love that Ina. And that smashed burger sounds good too. I'm ordering her new cookbook, using an Amazon gift card I got back in May. I've got most of her cookbooks but make only a few recipes out of each. But I love to open them and enjoy the beautiful photos & read her comments. I even fold dinner napkins & do same color flower arrangements like Ina. She's the best!!
  15. We attended a lovely, big wedding reception, the cake was put on display in the center of the dining room, and never was cut or served. Instead, we were serv ed pastries (which were good). My theory was the "cake" was fake so that an open bar could be afforded. Maybe the top layer was real and the couple got to enjoy that by themselves. I still prefer the delicious cupcakes we had not too long ago...so much better than a cake & probably a fraction of the cost.
  16. Fettuccini al fredo, baguette baked with anchovies on top, and steamed asparagus. Dessert: we're sharing a big wedge/slice of sprinkle cake.
  17. Me too!! I just can't help it. This reminds me of an episode of the Rhoda show. I can't remember the storyline but Rhoda hits the intercom. Carlton The Doorman comes on, Rhoda tells him something & he responds in his depressed voice, "Avoid disappointment. Aim low". Of course, that cracked me up. But as a professional worrywart, that was good advice!
  18. That was funny cause she said it when an overhead camera showed 3 pots bubbling away on the stove. I bet that sauce was delicious!
  19. Has anyone made Ina's cupcakes with the cream cheese/coconut frosting? When we were discussing wedding cakes, I remembered the last reception we attended where instead of cake, they had tiers of white buttercream frosted cupcakes (vanilla or chocolate). No one missed a cake as we all selected our favorite flavored cupcakes.
  20. Bangers & Mash (Ina's wonderful recipe) and Maine Blueberry Crostata with vanilla ice cream.
  21. I have pest control service come out 3 x a year. No ants, no spider crickets (scary jumping things) and much less silver fish (for some reason we can't quite get totally rid of silver fish).
  22. I'm still disappointed we didn't get to have a family meet-up in Bar Harbor back in June. Fingers crossed that next summer we can do this. And maybe a side trip to the store & music/food area (every time they mention those oysters I go crazy--love oysters!) I don't see this show getting cancelled.
  23. Something called Showbiz Cheatsheet has an article on Jeff Mauro & his adorable son, Lorenzo, doing a cooking show from home. It also mentioned GZ being humanized thanks to viewers seeing him with his family in the kitchen. And the writer noted that Sunny is all alone (hmmm). Makes me wonder if the writer visits this site.
  24. Curried shrimp & rice for supper.
