  1. I half watched this show today. The only food that looked really good to me was Sunny's fried chicken tenders & waffles (altho' why they're on a stick mystified me). And Sunny looked so pretty in whatever episode this was.
  2. Hmmm...I'm watching the show and right now it's just Jeff making a boule topped with, good God, baked (frozen) hash browns & corned beef. At the commercial break, he said Katie will be next making something wonderful. So, is this another rerun hosted by Jeff?
  3. I made a free-for-all frItatta for dinner, with some sauted chicken sausage, mushrooms, onions, & spinach.
  4. Tonight's a great Seinfeld night: we meet Izzy Mandelbaum, & in the second episode we meet Elaine's father, two of my favorite episodes.
  5. Yes to this!! ^^^^ Ryan has become the Chip Gaines of Maine and Ashley has always been hard to understand as she swallows half her words.
  6. I remember the episode where the husband wanted a basketball half court in the back yard. At the end of the show, I thought, those potential neighbors near the houses David showed & the people didn't want, have no idea how lucky they are.
  7. I loved the episode when Dixie made chowder (chowdah!) in a cabin they were working on. And when the group sat on a lake shore eating hot dogs they'd grilled. These scenes don't take long, may 2 minutes. But they add that something extra, something homey that other building shows don't have (at least from what I've seen).
  8. Katia deserves The Best!! I need to go lie down now to recuperate from two shockeroos in skating "news": Katia & Pelletiere and Alissa & Kurt. Geez laweeze.
  9. Thanks for the description of the latest episode. I wish, in the future, they'd inject a bit of the "old friends togetherness" again. It's been missing since the end of season 3. IMO, without that special touch, MCM seems too similar to other building shows. I liked the Daggett camp episode as the house looks so much like a family friend's old place on Long Lake.
  10. What is Alissa doing in Canada--grad school? coaching? I loved her skating... so elegant. But she didn't have nerves of steel, unfortunately.
  11. Thanks!! I feel like I need a lab coat as I keep trying to create a pink drink that's better, creamier, than Starbucks (& of course, heh heh, not OTT fattening).
  12. When you think of the nice personalities of Michael Symon, Carla, Clinton Kelly... can't you just picture them doing The Kitchen & having fun? Bring in Ina as a guest cook once in a while and it would be enjoyment overload!!
  13. Let me know what it's like, please. I just want a delicious, creamy, pink, cold drink :>)
  14. I used to make the meatloaf w/ ketchup-bbq on top. A year ago I found Brown Gravy Style Meatloaf at the mantitlement.com blog. I don't use their gravy recipe, though. I use McCormick's brown gravy mix with a blend of water & chardonnay, plus some garlic powder & Mural of Flavor. So, I'm no longer tired of meatloaf cause this version's so delicious.
  15. I make Katie Lee's Breakfast Bread from her Endless Summer cookbook. We really like it and now make it on flour tortillas instead of naan.
  16. Oh...if only they'd cook from home again!!
  17. Yup... I've just about given up trying to create a creamy Pink Drink wannabee. I'll have to try the pink drink at "Duncan" (would this be Dunkin' Donuts?)
  18. If I were a homeowner on this show and was told to add to the drama by acting like a jerk, I'd refuse. IMO, some of these people aren't acting...they really are obnoxious. Quite a few of the homeowners are truly grateful for the help, thank goodness. But, yeah...why throw a hissy fit when Hilary's crew find potentially dangerous things happening in your house.
  19. She sure loves that guy--& understandably so. He fully supported her when she left a White House position to take a chance on owning/managing the Barefoot Contessa gourmet shop out in the Hamptons. And I bet he was a wonderful supporter whenever she had any doubts along the way. Guys like Jefffrey are hard to find.
  20. I wonder if she likes being the only one now not in the studio, out there in the elements, braving the snow, wind, etc....just being different. I wish FN would get replacements for these folks.
  21. When I lived in Raleigh, I loved it when little southern kids called me Miss Ann. A few native NC associates called me that once in a while. Coming from NYS, I found it kinda sweet and old fashioned (but my boss never called me anything but my first name, thank goodness!)
  22. In 1984 I certainly realized that T/D were the real deal in gold medalists, thanks to that program. But there was something about him that creeped me out and I think it was him frequently grabbing Jane by the back of her neck & maneuvering her on the ice. Every time he did that (and he did it in just about every program I remember seeing), I cringed.
  23. Ina never wears her wedding rings. Actually, she never wears any jewelry on her show. So maybe Alex feels the same way about cooking with rings on her fingers.
  24. They were so creative while cooking in their own homes (except for Sunny and her grill).
  25. Oh...the A-frame where they had a competition renovating her mom's place and one next door.
