  1. I don't know about any behind the scenes stuff. What I do know is if I'm watching CNN & he pops up on the screen, I'm switching to MSNBC. Just writing that sentence was a challenge. I was in the comments section of the Washington Post earlier today where people (probably males) are having a field day via innuendos or whatever they're called (double entendres?) re: Toobin's return. And some are providing links to his court case when he tried to get out of paying child support to a woman he had an affair with (the creep offered to pay for an abortion & give her money for a sperm bank donor).
  2. Go to Amazon and enter Trader Joe. It's amazing how much TJ stuff you can get. I love the TJ Spicy Chai Tea Latte and the Mustard Aioli and ordered both from Amazon just after everything shut down last spring.
  3. Guess who's back? Jeffrey Toobin.
  4. Sunny obviously has problems. IMO, no one with such sensitivity issues needs to be on any TV cooking shows.
  5. The only episode I loved was when he went to southern California, rented a huge 1970's era Chevy sedan, and had a Mariachi band in the back seat playing music. Otherwise, I found him condescending to his viewers.
  6. I sure have missed hearing the Dixie Chicks music on the radio. All one hears these days are young men, with gravely voices, singin' 'bout a girllll + some lovin', and nothing much else. The Dixie Chicks were country and yet they were sophisticated enough to lure in a whole different type of music afficionados.
  7. We all know "the Markles" means Rachel & Prince Henry. It sorta sounds like a sitcom.
  8. A lot of moms schedule when they want to give birth via Caesarian.
  9. It's the same type of mindset that believes in all the crazy conspiracies being circulated these days, many of which lead believers to get involved with dangerous/illegal activities.
  10. His very young wife was an associate of mine and I was visiting them at his old home down in Fayetteville. I think he was as old as my parents. So as I said, I kept my mouth shut. His generation, in the south, learned this crap at a young age. Some (like him) never saw the light. I met people in Raleigh who still believed the Civil War had nothing to do with slavery (& got very indignant when I begged to differ).
  11. The tiny ants were already here when we bought our house. I battled them for a couple months and then called a pest control service. These ants return when it gets really hot so I have pest control return (pest control also helps get rid of our silver fish and spider crickets).
  12. Kennedy Center Honors will be on CBS tomorrow night, June 6th. Joan Baez, Garth Brooks, Midori, Debbie Allan, ,and Dick Van Dyke (about time!).
  13. I wonder if this will affect their ratings. I stopped watching as I can't endure them all together, with precocious Jeff having the stage all to himself between old videos. I'm glad, tho', that I got to see them individually, at home, where they seemed to show their better sides. And the food was a lot more interesting.

I'll never forget the Deadline White House program when Heidi Pryzbyla (sp?) was talking about some international situation and all of a sudden we heard a toddler's whiney yell. Heidi looked shocked/embarrassed, poor gal. It was kinda funny, in a way (well, if you weren't the parent being interviewed on a popular news show).
  15. I remember being told by a retired, elderly lawyer in NC (back in the 1980's) that the KKK was created to protect wives & children on plantations when their husbands were traveling...in case the slaves started an uprising. This very genteel, old man told me this quite matter of factly. I was a guest in his home so I kept my big mouth shut.
  16. ^^^^I forgot about the Jolie sibling "kiss" at some awards show. What's her brother doing these days, anyway?

Now that you mention it, I'm surprised that programs like Deadline White House are still interviewing folks via zoom. I did notice today that Jake Tapper had two reporters sitting in the studio with him. I'm sick of looking at the rooms many of the interviewees are sitting in.
  18. Mr. P914 hates it if vinegar is in anything I make (usually salad dressings). Yet, somehow, he can happily use white vinegar to clean his coffee maker.
  19. Happy Birthday, Gramto6 😀
  20. What a creep. He came across during his competitive years as such a nice guy in addition to being one of the great stylish skaters. I was always pulling for him. Damn. What's with these lowlifes? Six months? He should be o.u.t. of skating completely.
