  1. I thought I was the only person saying "big ass salad"...who started this expression? It always makes me laugh. I don't use it in front of anyone except MrP914 & my sis 😁
  2. I'm dumbfounded by this. We have a lot of cruel excuses for humans (these jerks posting this crap on social media) on this planet.
  3. https://www.iheart.com/content/2021-02-22-valerie-bertinelli-has-been-grief-shamed-since-eddie-van-halens-death/#.YOOIpD8li1Q.mailto I hope this link works. So...Valerie has been made aware of how her actions have been perceived by lots of people. I still feel sorry for her because she's way too emotional to be successfully (in a mentally healthy way) handling Ed's death (& Wolf's need to be treated like an adult child). She's a good person (not one of the show biz jerks) so I hope she's getting some helpful therapy.

I'm watching Deadline Whitehouse with Alicia Menendez subbing for Nicholle. She's very good. Wish she'd fill in more often when Nicholle is off.
  5. At least your neighbor should be on the cops' radar now. So, good for you for reporting him for his annoying (loud fireworks), threatening (pounding on your door following your calling the police), and dangerous (setting off fireworks in an extremely dry area) behavior.
  6. I plan to go to TJ's on Wednesday to get that cinnamon coffee cake, and the gluten-free chocolate cupcakes for my Thursday AM coffee group's first in-person gathering since the shutdown in March 2020. I don't need g-f, but those cupcakes w/ buttercream frosting are so delicious.
  7. I really dislike & no longer look forward to the 4th of July. I wonder if there are any states that don't allow people to set off firecrackers in their neighborhoods.
  8. Heh... it's on at 11:00 here and I have to make a major effort 🤓
  9. Geez... she's still acting like a widow. Someone needs to have a chat with her...soon!
  10. The fix is in...maybe? Cause it sure is very strange to have H/D & C/B at Skate America while G/P have Skate Canada to themselves. And what's with Calalang & Johnson not having *any* assignments while a brand new pairs team (sure, they're not novices, but still...) gets Skate America?
  11. As soon as I read "Kramer's Pimpwalk", I could see him strutting down the sidewalk in his gaudy coat...but barely recall the music (altho' it was perfect for that scene).
  12. We also didn't have the internet with kiddie porn on it back in the day. And men breaking into houses and abducting kids. Sure, this abducting kids wasn't happening in every town, every day of the week. But it was happening enough to make a lot of parents uneasy about their kids playing outside (or riding a bike to the park, etc). Didn't it all really start in the 80's? Valerie has certainly offered some good recipes during her time on Food Network. So I hope she gets some help. There aren't that many interesting cooking shows on FN now and I, for one, am sick of FN being overrun with Guy's boring shows plus shows featuring the worst cooks, etc.
  13. Shrimp, onion, & green tomato tempura. The shrimp and the onion tempura were delicious. Think I'll forget about green tomatoes in the future.
  14. I threw the garbage bag out, but I think it was chicken carbonara. We don't eat these often but I like to keep one in the freezer for the days when I just don't feel like cooking. With a tossed salad... it's a nice, tasty, quick meal. You could add some leftover peas and/or bits of ham as long as you add something like wine and/or broth to the sauce.
  15. Well, here's a confession: I used a Bertolli bag dinner for supper tonight. I added some white wine, a bit of cream cheese, a bit of chicken broth + some seasonings. It was pretty good (& easy!) along with a salad. Some nights I just need a break!
  16. So, last year it was quieter due to the pandemic? Crap. I thought it was due to whichever jerk in my 'hood, who enjoyed wrecking the peace & tranquility, moved away. It's annoying to me, but I'm really angry on behalf of the vets with PTSD, + the poor dogs who don't know it's fireworks.
  17. Ina really is a great TV "host" because you feel as though you're sitting on a stool in her taping kitchen learning how to cook her meals.
  18. Well, I learned something new (to me) today: BIPOC. Haven't heard it on TV nor read about it in newspapers, magazines, etc. Maybe it's currently making the rounds of staff conferences, workshops, or, maybe it will never be widely used. I know that I'd be hesitant to use it.
  19. I wonder what "Pauler" is doing these days? That woman got more & more repulsive each season.
  20. Korean Ground Beef & Noodles. Added some homemade teriyaki & it was even better.
  21. Go buy a statue of an owl or hawk and place it on the AC ledge. Our neighbors have one on their deck & the birds never go near their deck
  22. Yes, the conservatorship needs to be removed from her family's control. We don't know Britney, don't have any idea how she behaves, thinks, makes decisions, etc. So, just in case she's not as stable as she should be, she needs some kind of protection from all the unsavory characters (gold diggers) who are drawn to wealthy celebs. I hope the judge can help her in this regard.
  23. I started taking D-Mannose about 4 years ago (a friend recommended them). Have not had a UTI since. It's a cranberry supplement. My PCP & urologist know I take D-Mannose. It's pretty good stuff.
  24. Baked feta with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, baby spinach & fresh basil. MrP914 liked it. My opinion is that the feta, despite my doctoring it w/ seasonings, seems to bland out this dish. It was ok, not a lot of work.
