On Reddit today, they are discussing JBoob's reaction to Jill's book. Apparently he is still supporting Gothard and IBLP and thinks the kids owe their lives to Gothard. Of course he's so filled with the love of the Lord, that he also threatens to cut any child who speaks out in support of Jill's book that they will lose their inheritance. As if that's not all going towards lawyers for Josh for his actual criming! I'm beginning to think that JimBob's true god is money and it's galling him that there's no way to get his grubby mitts on Jill's money from the book! I hope she makes a bundle!

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

I don't think Jim Bob can believe that God's will could differ from Jim Bob's will. -
Carlin and Evan: But Mostly Carlin!

I wonder if this kind of vlog is what the Stew Crew considers their "ministry". -
What a wonderful story, @ChiCricket! You handled it just right!

You are not rude, @Scarlett45! I'm sure in her heart bff knows that. You're handling this unexpected turn of events very well, imo. I know you will have a lovely celebration with friends on your special day. You asked about whether kids attended adult outings back in the day. I do remember longing to go along when my older sisters were getting dressed up for a big girl outing, but I don't have any memories of wishing I could join in with my parents and their friends. Maybe it was different because I wasn't an only child...far from it! There was a houseful of kids and we had fun when our parents were out! It was the same with my kids - we always planned fun activities and a fun sitter for when we parents went out. As for making gifts, I loved making cards and pictures for my parents and my Grandma. I commissioned a painting of poppies from my granddaughter when she was about 8. She did a beautiful job and it still hangs in my bathroom!

@Scarlett45 - I'm so sorry this situation might put a damper on your birthday celebration. I hope all goes well and that your bff can find a sitter, make a beautiful cake and that you all have a lovely celebration. I also hope you get a lovely painting from your godchild. You deserve a beautiful, happy birthday!

Today we're going on a local farm stroll with our youngest daughter (full grown adult!). We'll bop around to some favorite farms and get some gourds and pumpkins and who knows what else? There are usually some goats, llamas, ducks, pigs and kittens to see too! Should be a nice fall-ish day!

We got the dvr connected. We went to the library and chose a couple of binge box dvds: Pirates of the Caribbean, original movie and 4 sequels and a Tom Hanks Binge box with 4 movies. We had trouble narrowing down tv series choices. I think I'll just look online and reserve dvds in the future. I also got the lowdown on hoopla and libby for listening to books. I'm not a big fan of audible books, but I'll give it another try.

I guess if everyone has a story to tell, then we should all write books. Guess what Amy? Your story (and probably mine) are not going to be NYT best sellers!

That is too funny!

A while back we rewatched all seasons of Rockford Files. It was fun to see so many actors when they were younger.

Hmm. It won't be Counting On! I really don't know. I've been thinking it would be fun to rewatch Northern Exposure.

Then the Romeikes could rest assured that their precious blessings would be assured of not getting an education under "care" of the Stewarts!- 575 replies

Trace and Lydia: Can She Become a Citizen Now?
BetyBee replied to Heathen's topic in Bringing Up Bates
The Romeikes came to America where they would have the freedom to make their children uneducated, which is apparently their American dream! (Note: I'm not talking about ALL homeschooling, just the IBLP fundie flavor of homeschooling) -
I think we'll be dusting off the dvr and checking out old shows from the library.
