The Sydney-Francie is still the one I compare all TV girl fights to (woman fights? Somehow that sounds worse), and this one did acquit itself quite well by that standard. Even though Daniel's death was foreshadowed throughout the episode, I was still hoping he'd survive and was surprisingly affected when he died. I'd like to see Margaux team up with Emily to seek revenge.

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion
scrambled eggs replied to Rhondinella's topic in Say Yes To The Dress
I'm not even sure a supermodel could look good in that dress. That dress accentuates every possible bad feature. Once again, too many people confuse expensive with good taste. And that other dress with the sheer cutouts? Frederick's of Hollywood would call it too trashy. -
Ben Wyatt: Mr. Leslie Knope

I was thrown off a bit when Ben said he went to Carleton College, because my head canon had always been that he went to college outside Minnesota due to the notoriety of Ice Town. -

I'm happy Parks will be back soon, but I'm sad it's going to be gone so quickly. -
Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion

Seeing the girl who couldn't pick a dress after trying 50 of them cry about the price does suggest that the cost of the dress has been holding her back. I hope she found a budget she was comfortable with and then a dress in that price range. The style of the last dress was really pretty on her. I wish more of the brides were like Cy. So little drama. Seems rare these days to have a bride who knows what she wants, a consultant who finds it for her, and non-annoying friends and family. -
S05.E08: Ka Hana Malū (Inside Job)

Same here! I had a feeling it was one of the DH kids and was able to figure it out about halfway through the episode. Thank you, IMDB, for validating my hunch. I also wonder why Grace Park wasn't in the wedding scene. Also, can you really get married at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel that last minute? Though Leonard did have all that money. -
Rosa taking her assignment as task force leader so seriously, Jake figuring out what the zip codes meant, and the entire final sequence were nice reminders that the characters in B99 are really good at their jobs. Even Scully and Hitchcocks have CIs--and more brains than we realize, judging from the cold open. The B99 might act like idiots but they aren't idiots, if that makes sense.

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion

I'm watching the most recent episodes and it has become ridiculous how 95% of the dresses they show are Pnina Tornai. Does she own Kleinfeld's or something? Or are the SYTTD customers only shown Pnina dresses? -
Parks and Recreation in the Media

There has been casting news lately but when are we going to get some plot descriptions? Is the entire final season going to be "Hey, I haven't seen [character] in a while. What have you been up to the past 3 years?" -
S01.E09: Kill Me, Kill Me, Kill Me

Same here. I want Asher to be happy and free from those idiots. He might be a douche but at least he doesn't burn corpses to hide his DNA. -
I had a really hard time believing Schmidt, who prides himself on his appearance, does not know how to do laundry. But otherwise I enjoyed the Schmidt/Nick/Winston scenes. Nick really IS the cutest.

Agreed that it wasn't the best episode, but even an average episode of B99 is better than most sitcoms. Holt on the chair ball was hilarious--I am already mad at whoever from Modern Family beats Andre Braugher for the Emmy next year, because how can anyone possibly have a better highlight reel? (I will allow an exception for the Parks and Rec cast). And I also cherish the visual of Terry Crew being tiny compared to anyone. Rosa's surprising love for "Something's Gotta Give" and Scully and Hitchcock's reunion were also great (Scully and Hitchcock may be idiots, but they're each other's idiots). Overall though the episode felt a bit disjointed and not as good as last year's Thanksgiving episode. I'm sorry, I meant last year's Turkey Day episode.

Loved Sizzler as a kid. Especially the salad bar (where you could make tacos!) and the cheese bread. The steaks were pretty subpar, though. We also sometimes went to a restaurant where the kids' meals cost what you weighed. So this episode gave me some flashbacks, though we never ate ketchup and baking soda sandwiches.

I was hoping that the Teddy Ruxpin doll would have a tape that Max's mom had made, but it will probably be a while till we hear/see her. -
I was so distracted by that and the lack of Ryan/Esposito/Lanie, I could barely pay attention to the ceremony.

I was just going to post the NY Times link about that! I wonder if Blue Bloods inspired them : ).

I also adored the Jones' brothers. What a contrast between that family and Persia's--Thomas and Julius wanted to buy Katrice her dress because they love her, not because she's a spoiled brat who will make their life miserable. (Also, how does the veil cost half as much as the dress and more than Katrice's dress? Did unicorns make it?) -
I agree that this episode needs to be Andre Braugher's award submission. He was incredible in it. The monologue in the bar was the standout for me--this is a sitcom, but watching it I was reminded of Frank Pembleton. Plus, the entire sleepover sequence and the reveal of his middle name! This episode reminds you that Andre Braugher is one of the best actors in TV history. And yep, he has done Shakespeare. Says IMDB: Strong Shakespearean background includes roles in "Coriolanus", "King John", "Measure for Measure", "Richard II" and as Iago in "Othello". He won an Obie Award for his "Henry V" in 1996.

Followed by Dre and Rainbow discussing whether Jack is too young to own a dog. I loved how they apparently discussed their visions of Jack's future, and it wasn't just Dre imagining these things himself.

I liked the scene where Nasim sang about the apartment, but the show really lost me when it had Mulaney finding the grave of a recently deceased Jewish man. Jewish graves never have markers that soon after burial, it takes close to a year for the unveiling. I guess there are no Jews on the writing staff, or at least no semi-knowledgeable ones.

Just watched the episode. Can't decide if David is mentally unhinged, super conniving, or somewhere in between. Emily Van Camp's acting during the lineup scene was some of her best in a long time. I keep expecting Jack's partner to turn out to be evil but so far he seems decent.

Leslie & Ben: We Love Them and We Like Them
scrambled eggs replied to SallyAlbright's topic in Parks & Recreation [V]
Other shows need to look to Leslie and Ben to see how to do TV relationships realistically. -
It was odd seeing those guys outside of Bill Lawrence shows, though that was the highlight of the episode.

I didn't catch the name of the NFL player who's engaged to Whitney, but he needs to RUN. She is going to spend every last bit of his money. At the very least, dude, make sure you have one checking account that is in your name only. -
This episode was my favorite thus far, other than the irritating children. But when is the Sec of State going to leave the country? Or are they saving a "Secretary of State kidnapped/shot at in foreign land" for November sweeps?
