Also I hated Brittany trying to wrest some power back by misleading LC into thinking Logan's relative was Luke Bryan. She was a little too smug for someone who was eliminated weeks ago. I was glad LC didn't fall for it.

Logan was a great strategic puppetmaster, but overall LC was the better player, IMO. She dominated the challenges. Hell, PEPPER was better at the later challenges than Logan was. LC was also a master at misdirection, because people believed her relative was male right up until the finale! That was such a good idea. This interview revealed her thought process behind that: Great final two, and I think the right person won. It appears LC also changed up her appearance a bit. On Instagram, it seems those coke bottle glasses and blond hair are gone. She looks much better with darker hair and glasses. I saw that Keke appeared to be on set for the finale. It's too bad they didn't show her on TV!

I liked Lark very much, but her complaining about feeling played is a bit much. There's money involved, lady!

Indian Matchmaking - General Discussion

The level of delusion in Vinesh is unreal! How could he possibly think the date with Meena went well? If that's his idea of a "connection," no wonder he's single. She could not have given less of a fuck about him. Whereas with Mosum there was an actual connection and vibe, but of course he dropped her. Douche. I got a little too much pleasure seeing how quickly Meena dropped him.- 338 replies

Indian Matchmaking - General Discussion

I can't with Nadia. I said this before, but she reminds me of my cousin. Gorgeous, bubbly, great job, total catnip to men - but for some reason, comes off as a bit clingy and desperate, which is sure to run off flighty guys like what's his name. I think the issue is that she wants the guys to like her, but doesn't stop to think about whether she likes them or if they're a good partner for the long haul. You don't have to say yes to every rando who asks you out! I see too much of myself in Aparna. I think she's a good egg at heart, but comes off as a jerk sometimes without meaning to, or says cutting remarks meant in jest but ends up insulting the other person. I've lost a friend or two because I can sometimes be like that. It's not a good look, but it's also hard to change, particularly if it's a defense mechanism, which it seems to be in her case.- 338 replies

Which eliminates my guess of Garth Brooks, then, since Garth is famously from Oklahoma. What about Jason Aldean?

I have a feeling Ethan is going to walk the plank tonight (that is not a spoiler since I have no idea), which is too bad. He seems cute and sweet. Has ANY Asian man gotten this far in the competition, yet we know absolutely nothing about him? You gotta feel for the vendors, restaurants, and whatever else who were excited for their chance to be on TV.

Some of the guys sent home last week have got to be cursing Logan's name for not opening his piehole sooner. Some of them genuinely seemed into her and he took their spot.

I'm calling producer shenanigans on Louise staying, because anyone who so desperately wanted to stay on the show would have called her out already. Brittany did not. I can't fathom why. The wanting to show the house she was tough reason was kind of weak. I like that they have not yet revealed who Kai is related to. I don't have a clue. I was laughing when someone speculated that Dom is one of MLK's kids. She doesn't look nearly old enough, for one. I also don't think we'd catch any of them on a reality show like this.
-
Best elimination ever. Figures a douchey cheater would be related to Chuck Norris. I imagine this show could go on forever if it does well enough. There is no shortage of nobodies trying to stage a come-up through their famous relative. Some of these are pretty legit celebrities, too, like Whoopi.

Don't make me defend Clayton, because the song was over the top. He wrote an essay a few months ago about the cyberbullying he was getting and I think he does some kind of talks on cyberbullying, so all of this isn't a good look for the franchise. And again, I don't even like Clayton.

Finding myself watching this with a smile on my face. Not even a smirk! Definitely two of the most likable people in this franchise, although I could make a drinking game of the phrase "going on this journey together."

Just a little comment on the nostalgia factor of this show. (By the way, it's streaming on the Roku Channel, with some commercials). The setting is just so cozy. I don't think I've ever watched another TV show set in San Francisco. I know it was probably filmed in LA, but I loved the little San Francisco references. I'd also have gladly lived in the manor, although it stretched belief a bit that they could afford all those repairs whenever a demon came crashing by. Whenever real life gets depressing, it's always fun to watch the first 1-4 seasons of Charmed and rejoin the sisters at Quake, P3, Buckland's, and the manor. And, of course, to forget the later seasons exist.

S04.E03: Chapter Three: The Monster and the Superhero
EarlGreyTea replied to paulvdb's topic in Stranger Things
Not sure why Eleven suddenly thinks Mike doesn't love her. Aside from just signings his letters "from," is there any indication that his feelings have waned? Or is this a natural consequence of her insecurities getting the best of her, plus distance? Did I miss some subtle scene that indicates why she might feel that way? -
Regardless of whether Will has feelings for Mike or not, the unraveling of their friendship is so painful to watch. I binged season 1 in anticipation, and Mike's entire raison d'etre is finding Will. They were so tight as kids, and it's painfully realistic that they would drift after after a move and one of them getting a girlfriend. I just kind of thought their shared trauma would make their friendship stronger. I dunno. Maybe we will see them move back toward each other. The core of the show for me, is the friendship between the core kid (now teen) actors. Having said that, El has been the wedge in their friendship since at least season 1, when Mike's search for Will was sidelined by his sudden crush on El. I see that Will has been replaced by Eleven as Mike's person and that's got to be painful. Mike is my favorite character, but he really only seems to care about Eleven.

Rachel's echoing sobs were moving for me. I'm not made of stone! Whomever scouted this location (and the acoustics) deserves a prize.

The women are all sitting there like they're waiting for their biopsy results. Maybe it's me or the state of the world, but lighten up! You're in Iceland!

S01.E03: Movie Night Meltdown
EarlGreyTea replied to secnarf's topic in Joe Millionaire: For Richer Or Poorer
I simply had to go and find the photo. Here: https://www.distractify.com/p/winston-joe-millionaire He is FAR AND AWAY more attractive than either of the main schlubs on the show. Reminds me of Stephen Coletti from Laguna Beach. Dunno why they'd let a guy with that much sauce on the crew of a show like this. -
Yeah, I wasn't a fan of hers, but she was really, really set up to fail by Monica and Navarro. First of all, she'd been teammates with some of the cheerleaders; she signed on to be an assistant coach, not the stand-in coach, which apparently was sprung on her; and Monica was off in California on teevee. It was a horrible look for Monica. Sure, not many people would turn DWTS down, but at the end of the day, I think she owed it to the employer and her "kids," as she calls them, to have stuck around more. Andy must have fucked up big time to have been tossed out like that, because he would have been the perfect stand-in. I would bet that she caught COVID while on DWTS, causing further separation from the team.

Well, I've seen the first episode and I love how much of the focus is now on Trinity Valley. Navarro is, in some ways, now not as rootable for me. They aren't the scrappy underdogs anymore - that's Trinity Valley, and their hunger to prove themselves, especially in the face of the Navarro burst of fame, is really intriguing. I liked Vontae, their coach, last season, and I'm really interested to hear what he has to say. Of course, I wish all the best for the Navarro students, but from an entertainment standpoint - Trinity Valley intrigues me more. I did like how it will probably be warts and all - they went right in with the Jerry sexual abuse mess. I'm glad it wasn't swept under the rug.

Golden Girls News (and Media): Better Late Than.... Pregnant!

It's like having new episodes of the Golden Girls. Not nearly as funny, of course, but more Girls is comforting! And a young Don Cheadle! -

Yeah. Her death is a loss for us, but not for her. I really can't think of a more ideal way to go: in your sleep at at advanced age, with all your mental faculties and physical health, knowing how beloved you were by the world. And with Allen and a bevy of dogs waiting for you. -
Gross. I have never seen Jesse's season, and now I know I can skip. What a boring block of wood he was as host. Perhaps that's how TPTB wanted him to be. I know Kaitlyn and Tayshia have received mixed reviews, but I liked what a breath of fresh air they seemed to be, and actually engaging. Even Nick Viall would have been better. A bit self-absorbed, sure, but that's kind of a prerequisite of being on TV. At least he might put his foot in his mouth enough times to entertain us. Also, I lost the other post I wanted to quote, but Ency is WAY too smart for dim Clayton. You could see his eyes glaze over at her language lesson. Too smart, too accomplished, too interesting for the human embodiment of "Live, Laugh, Love." What an utter waste.

So I'm circling back and finally watching the pilot of this new version of the show. The two episodes in the original show dealing with Wayne's friend Wort (Wart?) first enlisting, and then coming back from Vietnam, are two of my favorite episodes of all time. I liked how he and Wayne tried to enlist on a lark, and in particular how goofy the Wort character was. I thought the actor did such a great job in both episodes showing how much he had changed. ALL of that to say, I am most excited and intrigued that they went and made one of the main family members a service member. It opens up so many interesting storylines. I only wish we got to know the brother before he enlisted, to kind of get an idea of how he fit into the family dynamic and how his personality was before he went to Vietnam, so we could get an idea of how it affected him upon his return. Dule Hill is looking GREAT. I love the chemistry between him and Saycon Sengbloh, the wife. My father served in Vietnam, too.

Ha! I felt personally attacked by this post. Michelle reminded me so much of myself this episode that I was cringing throughout. I've learned in the past few years how patently unfair it is to people, especially ones who don't know you very well, to know what you're thinking and what you want. I think we've been conditioned by romcoms that our soulmates will automatically know what we want and need. In some cases, they do, but mostly - you need to open your trap and TELL them, especially if you've only known them a week. At least she didn't sulk through the entire thing, though - something I might have done. CRINGE. That said - this episode was amateur hour on the part of the guys. At least a handful of them should have been trying to cozy up to Michelle instead of making teddy bears. Rookies!
