  1. The way I figured it was that Brent was bad on Earth, but he was restricted by what he could actually do. In The Good Place, he was no longer restricted. He could write and publish a ridiculous book, he could ask for and receive a crazy decked out SUV, he could do whatever he wanted and get whatever he wanted - that made him a worse person than he had been on Earth. Until the end.
  2. OMG, the bone off the roof. I laughed harder than I have laughed in a long time. Such a stupid obvious joke, but I loved it! This was the best I've liked Colin so far. He was so giddy messing with Nandor.
  3. I liked it a lot! Of course they were going to do a "I choose me" ending, but I'm really happy with the way it happened. Rebecca really realized she needed to do something for herself that didn't involve the guys. It was cute the way they tied it all in to the songs in her head. And how sweet was the I love everyone speech and a relationship isn't an ending? It wasn't a perfect show, but it had some important things to say and it really did make a lot of people not feel so alone.
  4. White Josh! Loved Loved that number, it was so great. Reading over this thread, it's funny. Every guy has support - just like the show. Everyone had a different opinion. I think Josh is a no go. That's her past, that's who she used to be. I think it's Greg, it's always been Greg. However, Nathaniel would give her a good future, she'd be happy with him. So I'm in for anyone but Josh.
  5. I liked it. I think the "greg is different" gag went on a bit long, but I laughed at all the "rest of the series" jokes. I'm so sad that OG Greg was busy, but I'm glad they brought Greg back. I too think they will end the series with a "I choose me" situation. But how interesting that the guys around Rebecca are growing. Nathaniel has his own life now, Josh is seeing that the world doesn't revolve around him, and Greg - well, we'll see how he turns out.
  6. I loved The Cringe! I was sitting there having anxiety because of something dumb I said in a meeting that day and then that song comes on. I so needed that! And loved the costumes.
  7. I'm really liking this season so far. I think starting completely from scratch - new Doctor, writer, companions - was a good thing to do. No carry over expectations other than the Doctor be the Doctor, and she totally is! I like that so far the stories are straight forward and interesting, and the Doctor is the hero with two hearts. She's so caring but enthusiastic and silly and clever.
  8. I was totally relieved as well, but because we will be spared the drama of Demelza being tempted to be with Hugh while Ross is in London. I was not looking forward to that.
  9. That was horribly disappointing, for all the reasons mentioned here. Ugh! But here is a post about the gorgeousness of the clothes and sets. Be sure to click through to the link about the real dollhouse that inspired this: https://tomandlorenzo.com/2018/09/the-gorgeous-period-costumes-of-the-miniaturist/ Did anyone read the book to tell us if the Miniaturist actually got more time in the book?
  10. I feel so bad for the contestants! All the work they did and no one will see it because ABC hired some slimeball to be a judge. It's not their fault. I really hope they go up online or something so we can see all the baking.
  11. I love the whole "This isn't about Josh" thing. The writing on this show is amazing. The character arc for Rebecca is soooooo good. And all the side characters have some lessons to learn also. Josh has always been the center of some woman's universe, Paula needs to examine her own issues, Nathaniel is realizing a lot about himself.. UGH This Show is Amazing!!
  12. Really not happy with the addition of the kid. Damn show, don't you know that is always the death knell? This show was skating toward more annoying than enjoyable anyway, and then they added an obnoxious kid and more Oliver man pain? UGH!
  13. Am I the only one massively disturbed by the Rooms to go ad with kids singing "My Stuff" to the tune of "My Humps?" All I can hear is "my lovely lady lumps". Ugh Fergie, did you really need that commercial money? And I disagree that the Amazon/Dog/Lion ad song is the worst song ever. I vote for this one, that song is horrible! https://www.ispot.tv/ad/w2FC/snhu-break-the-cycle-song-by-twin-bandit
  14. When Sam was talking to Bran about the secret wedding, he asked Bran - Can you see it? Bran didn't look for the wedding until then and saw it. So I don't think Bran was looking for Littlefinger betrayal until Sansa or Arya asked him to.
  15. My read on Mileva was completely different than many of the ones above. Yes, she was miserable and hated everything, but I saw that as mental illness. I thought the writers were making it clear that she was obviously depressed, and perhaps had other mental illness, not that she was just a harpy. Being that depressed, and having her husband succeed and leave her behind, I could see that making it worse. Plus the son said mental illness ran in the family. I felt sorry for Mileva because she was so depressed and had no treatment and a husband who wasn't paying attention, and children to take care of.
  16. The book was hard to follow in the beginning also. But it all comes together and makes sense. Stick with it. I thought it was great. Visuals were stunning, casting is really good. Loved Audrey. I'm a huge Gaiman fan and I was not disappointed. squee!
  17. This must have been why Moff was pissed at BBC for revealing the Master in promos. Now we all know who is in the vault and there is no suspense any more. Eh, I'll still enjoy the ride. I'm loving Bill. The delight she took at walking on the Thames, at all of the Frost Fair was delightful. I'm a bit annoyed at the fact that we know the Doctor had been to that Frost Fair multiple times and this ep makes it looks like he never realized anything was wrong before. And the sonic worked on a rope? Really? But I'll forgive it because it was a fun episode. Maybe he always intended on coming back and figuring it out.
  18. Niska also had a romance, let's not forget. So they have shown both Niska and Mia to have sexual feelings for a human. Maybe for them it's more of the "I need you to love me, I need you to want me" thing than a biological sexual response. I'm going to be open about it. But that's just because I think Gunnar is super hot. ::shallow:: However, I don't see why Gunnar would want Mia back. I could see maybe if he had some time to get used to a feeling synth, but that was way too quick. He got over that whole "I have feelings for a Synth" thing pretty fast. There may be something there to be concerned about. Somehow I don't see the show giving Mia a happy relationship for long. And Leo, I think he is VASTLY underused. This should be his story more than the family's story I think. I need more of the focus to be on him. But I guess there are just too many characters.
  19. Yeah, the love triangle - ugh. But here is one where he is being honest with Glinda. He's not hiding his love for Dorothy, he's like straight up - Sorry, Wife. She's in my blood. I like Lucas/Dorothy together so I guess I'm a bit forgiving. It was a bit unbelievable that the Ev went from one pistol to those big shotguns, but I'll go with it as they turned on the wizard. That was unexpected and cool.
  20. I've thought about this way too much. The only thing I can come up with that makes any sort of sense, is maybe this is the recycling program. Maybe they take the ones that had an issue or a malfunction of some kind, refurb them, and throw them in a mind shaft? I had a hard time buying why a human would want to go to a synth marriage counselor. That seemed weird. Counseling is so personal. Regarding the question of why is cheating with a synth "cheating" - I think the issue for this family is that everyone in the family had developed a relationship with Anita. They all had feelings about her. They may not have known she had feelings back, but they all know they had feelings about her. You don't have feelings for a fleshlight or a vibrator presumably. But he took something his kids loved and had feelings for and turned her into a sex object. That feels super creepy.
  21. This show is basically Better Off Ted but I liked Better Off Ted way better. The characters are way more likeable (go watch it on netflix if you haven't seen it). I think that's what bugs me the most, everyone who works at the office is unlikeable. There are potential good ones (the secretary and Ron and Abed) but the rest are awful. I think the best thing about the show is crazy Jack O Lantern, and that makes me sad because Alan Tudyk is the best.
  22. I saw one review that said someone in the writers must have been like Oprah - everyone gets a secret. You get a secret! You get a secret! Everyone has a secret! By the time I got the end, I agreed. It was too much secrets and drama and not enough about the clothes and the design of the clothes. It was a big meh for me. Did we really need to murder a gay sailor, then hide the body, then try to keep it covered up, then try to pin it on someone else? It could have been an interesting show with just the drama of the Sabine family. I thought the whole murder thing was just ridiculous and unneeded. And girl moves from the sewing room to model - apparently that wasn't interesting enough. She also had to be in love with a gay man, have a secret baby, be Jewish, and then sort of maybe fall for the new American. They threw everything at the board and then kept all of it.
  23. Can we get some love for the costumers and their work in this episode? Good Lord those were some gorgeous dresses. Of course the wedding dress was gorg, but I totally fell in love with that purple dress with the white around the edge of the neck. But so much attention should be paid to that dress and the beautiful hair piece and veil. I know they had real life to go from, but wow those were pretty
  24. Well call me sappy, but I totally squeed at the end. I was sucked in. Even though they are painting Victoria as a young girl with a crush who changes for a boy, I still thought it was very sweet they way he fell for her.
  25. Every time they said "pourable fondant" I thought they were saying "horrible fondant". Because most fondant is horrible. But I was seriously impressed with the petit fours, I would never even consider making those by hand.
