  1. I have no problems with Nico being IN the show, I just don't want it to revolve around them. Will & Angie's background is definitely a big part of their relationship, that's fine, but I'm interested in them, their co-workers and the cases they solve. I'm really hoping the "group home" thing doesn't get traction. I really like Faith, and her ex seems like a good guy. But I don't want him, or Faith's son front & center either. We've already gotten a good profile of Jeremy, let's move back to Faith. I'm not watching this show as a docudrama about how the foster/care system fails the not traditionally gendered residents, or how returning vets are not being supported by the government and have scant resources to deal with PTSD and other traumas. I want a cop show, not a 40 minute public service message, no matter how much it's needed & well intentioned. I get the need to flesh out their backgrounds & bring in some other small stories & asides, just don't hammer us with every other human misery that's out there. There's already enough built in.
  2. I don't know how old you are, but the running gag in the 80's comedy "Murphy Brown" was for 10 seasons, she had a house painter named Eldon who never seemed to finish the interior of her house over the entire course of the series. He was 85% background. That's what the dog walker should be to me.
  3. I'm not a Nico fan. Of course they have a traumatic backstory and need attention & understanding. But it's too much too fast. The taking of the food & the stealing the money don't sit well with me. No consequences and rewarded with a custom apartment built for them? Weird. Otherwise, I really like the relationships. Did Angie tell Ormewood his wife knows about them? I would have to tell him she knows. That's a time bomb waiting to explode.
  4. Nope, tapped out after the 2nd episode. Whiney & rebellious teen girl, unbelievably soft-hearted tween brother, stupid guards not seeing a beautiful female Russian spy get off a tiny boat, and wife confiding in her CIA friend about her MI6 husband's work? Too many ridiculous plot points. TROPES GALORE. Forget it.
  5. Literally binged all 6 shows today, loved it. VERY happy it's coming back in a few weeks. Funny thing I noticed, twisty connection for sure: The drones they sent out with Bob were named "Miles" and "Maisy". The same names as the youngest kids in the John Candy movie "Uncle Buck". Which just happed to star Laurie Metcalf. And we all know who her ex husband is. *LOL*
  6. Just catching up on some last-season ABC watching & it occurred to me: Right now, mother, father and child are ALL lead characters on a Network TV show simultaneously. - Laurie Metcalf is playing Jackie on "The Conners". - Her daughter, Zoe Perry, is playing Mary on "Young Sheldon". - Zoe's father & Laurie's ex husband, Jeff Perry, is playing Stanley on "Alaska Daily". I wonder if it's happened before? BTW, anybody looking for a really good drama should check out "Alaska Daily" on ABC. Kinda cool.
  7. I need to dig out my fabulous brisket recipe. It IS from Texas. How on earth did they get an ultrasound photo so tiny? Very sweet concept though. Mandy is waking up to her reality with Georgie. Amber could easily be 19 or 20 and still within Georgie's age range. Maybe married at 18 in Vegas, divorced a few months later. 18 is also legal in Texas, but emancipated minors can marry as young as 16. I'm seeing Amber as a short-term addition to the cast.
  8. Interviews like Jinger's are specifically structured. The questions are submitted in advance to everybody, pre-screened and agreed upon. Occasionally attorneys are consulted to determine the legality of the questions. Those deemed not acceptable to the interviewee are removed. There's no "SURPRISE" questions slipped in, designed to shock the audience or the interviewee. That's why almost all are taped, to prevent those little bombshells or the interviewer going off script. There are no "confrontations" with these PR chats. Both Jinger & Jeremy are media savvy enough to never go into an interview where they don't control the content and know all the topics in advance. No jab at MacArthur & his church is ever going to be even allowed or acknowledged, much less responded to. That's not her narrative. These two may have been born at night, but it wasn't LAST night.
  9. This is starting to get very strange, how obsessed Jill has become with all the sex-themed influencing. One or two items, maybe. But how many is this? Is that REALLY appropriate for a trauma survivor who's brother is in Federal Prison for sex crimes? Is she doing this as some "coping" mechanism? None of her siblings seem to keep going to that particular well in their shilling. Just seems like Jill can't stop obsessing about sexual things. It's gross.

  11. And this always amazes me. Catholicism is patriarchal, formed around a charismatic leader, doesn't allow women to preach, rejects LGBT rights, allows almost zero reproductive freedom to women, marriage is forever in the eyes of the church, wives are to submit to their husbands and has unmarried men telling families how to live their lives, or be sent to hell. Sounds pretty damn Gothard-like to me. But then, Gothard only has 7 commandments where the Catholics have 10.
  12. The French tuck of the sweater is THE look on Instagram. It's everywhere if you're under 40. I think that's a great color for her and she can pull that look off easily. And unless you wear 100% polyester, those skinny chinos are gonna wrinkle a bit. I pre-ordered the book, no big deal. I'm interested in what she has to say, though not obsessed like some. People can judge me for spending the money, I don't give a crap. People assume so much without any basis other than personal bias, so I'm going to read her words before I judge her decisions.
  13. So there's still no REAL, factual information, nobody legitimately involved is talking and AMAZON doesn't have any updated documentation or comments. To me, it sounds like the project was either scrapped totally or back-burnered, no matter how fervently people want to believe it's coming out soon. Right now, EVERYTHING IN THE ARTICLE IS SPECULATION. https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/an-amazon-documentary-might-shed-light-on-the-duggar-family-s-secrets/ar-AA16zidX?
  14. Got it, I only watched the first few minutes. Can't stomach much of their videos.
  15. God these people are so boring and yet so shallow and pointless in everything they do.
  16. Stan was the get-you-anything man. He sourced all the strange items they needed for the job, from the chemicals for Judy, the bees, the weird wetsuit/bee suit Leo wore, etc. Ava definitely should have run over Bob. She was the one who said he was definitely dead. She made more mistakes than anybody else. I will say the do-it-yourself tracheotomy Bob performed on himself was a sick stunt. But damned if it didn't seem to work. I thought that Hannah absolutely recognized Graham/Roger, and that was one of dhe reasons she agreed to work for him. I don't think she knew at the beginning it would help her father get to him, Despite her saying afterwards she wasn't his "inside man". And I'm pretty sure she knew he could have saved her mother.
  17. Thanks. But from an inclusive perspective, there are no Asians or Hispanics in the cast. And there are both in Kentucky, I assure you. But if another straight white male/female comes in as baker, people will bitch.
  18. Thank goodness they got him. And they got Abbasi. Glad to see that. Goodbye TeTe & Ava. Nice stabbing by Ray though, that creep was psycho. He got to see his granddaughter, seemed painful, but he probably realized he'd never see her in real life. Judy should have just gotten in the car & gone. I would have. Nothing with Stan would ever have been good. Just the final episode left for me. It's definitely been a ride so far.
  19. So many questions..... But hopefully Bob is really and truly dead. That makes me happy. Judy doesn't seem too torn up, and that diamond butterfly bracelet Bob nabbed for her would be SO identifiable as coming from that Diamond way robbery. Ava was barely grazed, so it could have been a setup, but it would have come from Roger's guys. And they were all shot too. So they got what they deserved. Carlos was a nasty mo'fo. Note to self: Murphy beds are great hiding places for gunmen. Don't ever have one. I'm thinking darling daughter Hannah has got her hands on something. Sad that RJ seemed to be a casualty. But maybe HE'S faking dead & gonna score big.
  20. 4th episode watched. That was the best one so far. Yeah, the hair & makeup was weird, but we got the gist. Bonus musical points for The Verve, but minus points for calling the song "Praise You" instead of the correct "Bitter Sweet Symphony". And Super Extra bonus points for NO BOB. Thank goodness. I'm glad Lily knew about Ray's burglaries, before he opened the shop. I also hate the clueless spouse trope, who only finds out after their partner is arrested that they were a criminal. Ava wouldn't have found a foster family for Hannah if Lily had been alive. So often it's the smoke inhalation rather than the fire that kills folks. Poor Ray having to watch her die. G. Esposito is such a pro at the emotional stuff. Is it just me, or does he sometimes sound like Morgan Freeman?
  21. More unrelentingly LOUD and obnoxious music. I'm having to use my mute button way too much. Now it's just automatic when Bob is onscreen flapping his gums. I knew Ava was a rat, of course she gives in. I did like her line about Abassi not having custody of her kid, that was a sharp cut. I'm really hoping Leo sees through her "return" and has a backup. And that FBI bitch should have been canned as soon as she was busted. Her little fan boy is about to flush his own career down the toilet, but all he wants is to get in Abassi's pants. What an idiot. They are simultaneous giving these Feds way too much credit and making them look like morons. Regardless, I'm still digging the series. It's the freshest idea to come to the streaming sites in a while.
  22. Episode 3 for me. The background music, "Sympathy for the Devil" was annoying. When you have to enable your closed captioning despite having very good hearing, it's TOO.FUCKING.LOUD, people. SO wish they had shot Bob in the head. And in the groin. And again in the head. Then in his big, fat, obnoxious mouth. It pisses me off that my sheer hatred of this character is clouding my otherwise enjoyment. Bad writing to make him so much of a negative distraction. The Korean foster sister is extremely annoying and like, so like, ya know, yeah? Like right? I was pretty sure Hannah was going to end up in with the gang. Nice to know she & her dad have been planning all along.
  23. 2nd episode for me. Loved the freak out scene, and shoutout to long missing actor Richard Masur as the doctor. I recognized his voice before I could place the face. Looking trim & wearing the white hair well. Perfect remark about hours, orange slices and some Pink Floyd for them all to come down. Still hating Bob, he's really nailing his asshole persona. Actor Jai Courtney is by all accounts a really nice guy IRL, so he's hitting it out of the park. And the scene of the doctor's backseat ripping across and basically giving birth to Ray\Leo is just an amazing thing. He was at that moment born into his new life as Leo, so the metaphor is perfect. Not sure what the nickname for his daughter "squirrel" means, but I'm sure it's silly.
  24. This was my first episode & now I'm understanding how the show is structured. I like it. I don't think they could have made me hate Bob more if they tried. I mean, REALLLY hate him. Judy is an idiot skank to want that walking mound of excrement. Roger's wife looks so much older than he does. But then, Yoko always looked like John Lennon's grandmother, so there you have it. Son Brad comes off like a spoiled rich kid, just based on the 3 seconds we saw him. I love Gustavo Fring, aka Leo, looking muscular & jacked up. A nice change from his too-thin "Breaking Bad" days. He looks younger. Ava is a mole. Or a rat. She's not right somehow.
