  1. The wormhole required two debris attached to metal poles at a distance from each other to absorb atmospheric electricity to activate , just like earthshine requires light reflected off the Earth from the Sun to hit the moon where it is visible from Earth. The atmospheric energy is the Sun and the two poles are the Earth and the Moon. The Chinese had already figured that part out, as you can tell from that handy video where they demonstrated that, so they learned that when they stole the debris from them.
  2. They can't really show a huge amount of people evacuating with COVID restrictions, plus they only barely found out were the wormhole was literal minutes before the thing activated. Been around since the first episode. I had the same feeling myself. I liked the fact that the plot was picking up steam and we were learning some more about Finola's handler and Influx, but I did miss the elements of dealing with trauma, Then again, judging by all the comments I'm seeing, most people watching the show hate the idea of emotions in their sci-fi. A reference to how the wormhole needs to be triggered between two poles.
  3. We saw the debris at the farm. People died when they left the chlorine atmosphere and started breathing oxygen.
  4. They didn't tell them they were putting them in suspended animation ahead of time. It's literally a time freeze. The show explained that. That's what the shiny glow around them is for. They turned it off. They've been able to turn them off since episode 1, since they've been analysing this stuff for months now. The show already explained that. This show has addressed this stuff. It has its flaws but that isn't one of them.
  5. I'm honestly surprised she was still an intern all this while. I hope Iris was actually paying her,... Exactly! It's reaching the realm of parody now with this Mecha-Vibe business 🤢 I've heard some people think it was because Cisco's powers were too convenient, but they're literally still teleporting around everywhere with Nash's gizmo anyway. If it was an attempt to write off Carlos, then they need to undo it now that he's sticking around. Putting aside that, I really liked Cisco and Chester geeking out together. More of that please, show! I was just thinking we hadn't seen Caitlin around much; the writers room had seemingly run out of ideas for her. I hope we can see some more stuff with her this season, especially her relationship with KF.
  6. Wow, I had totally forgotten about that. Her name is Chrissy (which kind of sounds like Chloe). Add her own Wall of Weird and I wouldn't be surprised if they originally wanted to go with a multiverse variant of Chloe but couldn't because of what happened with Allison Mack.
  7. Recently started this. I like it, but it feels like it could be better, as if it's missing something. I do hope it doesn't die after one season though. Bryan and Finola seem to be there to liase with their governments and handle investigations. They already had a receiver, they just had to rework it into a transmitter. This one works differently than the others they've encountered thus far. I mean, it seemed like that was a lecture he was giving so it's not like he was keeping it secret. That was a normal morgue. One thing I like about this show is that solving the cases often require a more emotional touch, since the debris seems almost focused on picking up and amplifying human trauma.
  8. I'm glad that the show is talking about what utter bullshit no knock warrants are. I didn't even particularly mind the not Breonna Taylor bit, but the part where they spliced in real world footage only to have Jeff save her at the end...Seemed a bit on the nose. They handled Jen's recast really well, I think. I can tell the new actor tried her best to study up on China Anne's mannerisms and I appreciate the effort. I wonder if they'll go the image inducer route so she can keep her a normal life or make this the new normal? Anissa needs to tell her family she's married now. Is the League of Assassins a thing again? Guess we can think Crisis for that. I do like that Black Lightning is leaning into the Arrowverse aspect of the show more.
  9. When I saw Cisco appear with those awful looking gauntlets, all I could think was "We lost Vibe for this?" It really seems like the show doesn't know what to do with Carlos Valdes, but they may be because he's busy with other projects. Yeah, this episode was so corny I almost couldn't believe it. This show is normally sappy, but this episode was just dripping in sugar. The whole plot line was super rushed too, but I can give it a pass due to Covid. I was expecting them to do with Ralph what they did with Jennifer over on Black Lightning, but I suppose they're saving that for later? It'd have been better right now though. I did appreciate the Daft Punk joke they pulled. Timeless Wells seems like the Doctor. Wonder if he'll have phone booth when next we see him?
  10. They're really borrowing hard from Smallville here, what with the billionaire and his vaguely religion coded secret plans and obsession with caves in small towns. I'm really happy to see how mature Lois and Clark's relationships is. Many other shows would have taken this as a means to create 3 episode long drama, instead they have short, reasonable discussion about what happened and how they feel about it. Jonathan is really struggling and no one seems to notice it because of how good he is at simply looking out for other people. This is an all too common thing in real life, so i hope the show does it justice. I was enjoying a (relatively) less assholish Sam Lane, so I'm hoping he doesn't go all Big Bad on us. Lois dragging him was well deserved, I must say.
  11. This show finally did a murder hotel...and the ghost wasn't the culprit? I love it. Nice way to subvert expectations. Like George said, not everything is ghosts, even if the town is haunted and everyone but Carson Drew seems to know, I had totally forgotten about Nancy being a prospective college student, so I like that the show brought it up again. Those college girls were so warmhearted and nice, even if they bake pancakes in ovens. Everett proving once more to be a total trashbag of a dad. Please Ryan, hurry up and take him down.
  12. Apparently towns making their own money is an actual thing. I can actually say I learned something from this show. I can't believe Jughead summoning aliens isn't the weirdest thing I've heard on this show. What was truly odd is Veronica getting screwed over by someone other than Hiram for a change. Don't let 16 year olds print their own money, Ronnie! Archie and Jackson need hugs and support. Toni actually giving Cheryl some real talk for a change. The aliens were more believable 😂
  13. Probably because this is, for the moment at least, a purely journalistic storyline. Flash tried something similar with Black Hole, but it didn't really feel much like a journalism thing but an extension of Team Flash business.
  14. It all started with a Wells, so it make sense for things to start again with the death of all the Wells and mark a new beginning for the show. I don't know if this is permanent or not, but I think this was a nice send off for Harry, though HR could have gotten some more robust material. Really though, it's a travesty they did this when Cisco wasn't around.
  15. Show continues to be good. Lois is a delight. I love how she just walks in, quits her job and walks out to get herself another job the same day. I want to be like her when I grow up. 😄 Come to think of it, Jimmy started running a small town paper in Supergirl. It'd be nice if the show at least acknowledged that. Please show, don't start with General Lane mistrusting Clark. The man is his son-in-law, and this Luthor dude is going around destroying nuclear reactors as bluffs. I'm actually liking General Lane kind of, for the first time in how long, or even ever. Yeah, this is what will rip your family apart, not telling them the truth. Small town papers have it hard.
  16. Last week it was the Crows, this week it's Hamilton Dynamics. It is so awesome that this season of Batwoman is taking the opportunity to examine the shady elements in Gotham that the last season didn't really get into. Like the Crows, the corruption in Hamilton Dynamics flows downwards from the top. Good intentions aside, the way leaders operate and the culture they create effects the people below and the people they have to interact with. Luke and Ryan continue to impress me, I like how their relationship is developing at its own pace. Sophie failing real badly today, she messes up Ryan's relationship by blackmailing her into snitching and then she can't even do her illegal wiretapping properly. I really, really hope that she managed to take a pic of the map though. I understand why shows would want to remain separate to do their own thing, but they can at least come up with plots that don't make me ask "Why don't you call Supergirl or the Flash?" Come to think of it, have they even briefed Ryan on any of this stuff as of yet?
  17. I'll have to disagree on this. I think having a space where Jordan can test out his powers and there is a lower likelihood that he'll be seen is the best for him right now. Yeah, he's leaving behind a lot of people, but he can still keep in contact with them. Whatever technological marvels Krypton has to offer could have already been made public by other aliens. I'm not sure if Kryptonian tech is so advanced that it would have something that is clearly world beating here. This goes back to the issue of there still being Kryptonians around. Clark might not be willing to sell his heritage to make a buck. I'm not sure a history of Krypton would be all that profitable since there are tons of alien species currently on Earth anyway. This is relatively recent. STAR Labs was run for years by Reverse Flash, who Clark may not have trusted. We already got a storyline where he had a falling out with the DEO.
  18. Very nice premiere. This is a pretty different take on Superman, but I'm enjoying it. I really appreciate that the writers seem to know their Superman lore as well. The relationship between Jordan and Jonathan is looking good as well. It sort of reminded me of Super Sons, which makes me wonder if Jordan was conceived as a replacement for Damian, since they can't use him... With the powers Jordan just manifested, they probably think a more laid back environment would be better for him, for many reasons, not least of which is privacy. Aliens are a thing in Arrowverse, and there are still Kryptonian remnants alive, so might not be an option. In most Superman adaptations, the pod is usually given to STAR Labs for analysis, but that wasn't really an option here. I can suppose he was just lazy on bringing it to the Fortress.
  19. He had her followed and cancelled her credit cards when she went to Riverdale. He's the type where things are great when he makes an effort, but he does real controlling stuff when he doesn't get his way.
  20. Jughead's travails as a high school Lit teacher are probably the most realistic thing this show has ever done. Having to get a second job, your students seeing you at said second job, plus the fact that he's transformed into the kind of teacher he'd have made fun of back in the day... I really feel sorry for Veronica. She still falling into the same pit as Hermione. Chad pretends well, but the fact that he was talking to Hiram behind her back is a huge red flag. I must say, Archie's nonchalant "You're still here" at Chad had me howling. Speaking of red flags, Jughead, you lived through G and G remember, this Mothmen business should have you running for the hills. Guess we're back on the Cheryl/Toni train now. It's so fitting that all it took to draw Cheryl out of hiding was Toni taking over her highschool cheerleading team. They used the epic highs and lows of high school football line! These writers must be having som much fun writing this show 😆 Ms. Bell being a triple spy is hilarious. Just wait for it, we'll soon hear how he went evil because his friends abandoned him and left Riverdale.
  21. I figured she was slightly younger than the Core Four, enough so that she wouldn't have run in their circles. I mean, she was looking to buy a car with cash and run away to Florida. Her job in New York is obviously not in the cards for her at the moment, nor her marriage, which she more or less ended. It seemed clear to me that her career in the FBI was pretty much over since she messed up the hunt for the serial killer and she was basically relegated to grunt work. Exactly. I've never really been a fan of the Serpents but that was hilarious.
  22. Between the multipurpose use of ACAB and Ryan's great dig at the Crows, one would almost think the naming was made for this kind of thing. Be better at branding, Jacob! But on a serious note, I love that the show is spending more time on how horrible the Crows are. At this point the only difference between the Crows and the cops are that the Crows are straightforward about making the wealthy their priority. The whole idea of a private security company running around like cops is horrible, since they have no incentive to be better than cops and cops can be pretty horrible to begin with! I'm also loving how the show is building up Ryan's relationships with Team Batwoman. That scene with Luke was just amazing. The CW has a spotty history with male love interests, but Ocean is good so far, especially since Alice has no real anchor in the plot without Kate to bounce off of. Mouse must be gnashing his teeth in the underworld watching this go down though. 🤣
  23. The Core Four becoming teachers is pretty obviously a stretch, but since it was either that or the school dies, I can't really fault them for it. It's also hilarious how unintentionally fortuitous this offer was for them. Veronica was literally about to run from her marriage, Betty's FBI career looks like it's dead in the water and Jughead has to work 2 jobs to pay off his debt. The Serpents are still a ridiculous concept, but I howled at everyone being pissed at Jughead for his thin pastiche of a book. Could he have made it any less obvious? Hiram waiting 7 years to throw Veronica's words back in her face was also pretty funny. Hiram has literally thrown off the veneer and is proceeding through life at full saltiness.
  24. Exactly! Alice is still reaping the benefits of it. Her character is very interesting to watch, but it boggles my mind when she mysteriously appears and people treat her like an annoying cousin who just came to stay without warning instead of you know, shooting her on sight.
  25. Story literally has the "Viper leader" going out with the homecoming queen. Out of all of them, going back to Riverdale is best for Jughead. He can dodge his debt collectors and get some new material for his book. On the topic of Toni, I love that we get to see her interacting with someone other than Cheryl again. I also love that she got her degree and came back home to use it for her community. All these kids coming up in Riverdale High now were like 8-10 when all the madness started overflowing from the Hellmouth that clearly hiding somewhere around the place, so God knows they could use some help. It's great that the show is giving her importance on par with the Core Four. My only issue is, why the Serpents? Couldn't the show have used the timeskip to retire that concept? Did Toni really need to be a secret gang leader?
