  1. Really liking how the season is going so far. When first saw that Rebecca was killed I was kind of bummed but glad that we are still seeing her in the story even through flashbacks. Glad Job is back already and it didn't drag out too long. Am interested to see how he and Hood are going to be when he hears about what went down the last 20 months. So are going to get a Carrie/Cruz fight or Carrie/Burton fight or maybe both this season? I know Carrie is going to have a knockdown dragout fight. This is Banshee after all. Hell we already got the crazy chase in the middle of the street that we always get in Banshee. Really enjoy Bunker. His politeness is great. I guess him and the wife are the new Carrie/Hood doomed love affair. Proctor continues to be creepy. Is it going to come out that he killed Rebecca and tried to make hide behind the serial killer to get away with it?
  2. I liked the Kristina/Alexis scenes. I thought the scenes played out very in character. Alexis being Alexis is going to first focus on the older professor advising her daughter on her sexuality first. I can see why, the professor has showed up at her home to see her daughter despite Kristina being suspended from school by Parker accusations. However, I can see why Kristina freaked out. She has been expecting the worst reactions from her parents from the beginning. So any kind of doubts from her mom were just going to feed into this fear. They need time to let their emotions settle. Maybe both should talk to someone probably Julian for Alexis and Molly for Kristina to give them some perspective. Yea Morgan and Kiki should not keep being forced together. Wow was trying to think what else happened today and I got nothing.
  3. God bless Katie Stevens. First for going all out in the hump day video. Also for wearing those shorts throughout the episode. Feel for both girls. Haven't really sided for either one through out the season because they both have valid points. I really don't see one being more in the wrong than the other. Really wanting to see how this plays out. Loved Lauren still not knowing who Oliver is. Really enjoying how this season is going. Unlike the last couple of seasons this season hasn't started of slowly.
  4. I going to assume the writers will say that Milo got all the copies from the 2nd run of the issues that Nina and Maxie kept talking about would be a hit since their contest idea was such a hit. Of course I would find it hard to believe a 2nd run would come out this soon after the initial printing. Poor Griffin he doesn't realize that he is in Port Charles, Revenge capital of the US. His silly notions of forgiveness. He'll learn that revenge is the right way sooner or later. Was there really a point to Sonny's scenes today? Did we really need those scenes? I say this because I liked the Kristina/Parker scenes and wouldn't have minded a couple of more with them since for the second day they probably got less than five minutes combined. Speaking of Parker, she really did a number on Kristina.
  5. Um Sonny maybe your daughter didn't want to tell you about this because your first thought is to 'fix' the professor. I am not sure Alexis is going to be cool with everythiing. Yes if this was just a normal situation with Kristina questioning her sexuality like if the other woman was Kiki for example, Alexis would probably be supportive and not have a problem. However, this is a different situation. I can almost believe if the professor was a man, Alexis could buy that Kristina had a crush or was infatuated and made the offer because Kristina has a history with men where she does kind of reckless things. I think with Parker being a woman, an older woman in a position of authority, Alexis may think that Parker took advantage of Kristina who was vulnerable from the break up that was brought up this ep again. Parker showing up at Alexis' house and going along with Kristina's lie doesn't help as well.
  6. Not sure if this is a popular opinion but I am really enjoying this season. I haven't really had a problem with the pacing or the plot or even the motivations that I think some are having. Regarding more people not having a problem with Pike. I am not surprised. Right now he is offering them a chance to be strong, to feel in control. Since they have landed the Arkers have been living in fear of the Grounders. Their alliance to this point has been them trying to make an alliance to avoid being destroyed by the Grounders. They have been making concessions and being passive to people (the Grounders) that they probably see as savages/less than. Now Pike is saying that they don't need to passive or defer to the Grounders to survive. They can survive on their own just as long as they aren't afraid to take what they want. Also I think most Arkers have never really known any of the Grounders and only know the Arkers version of how the Grounders have been attacking them since they landed and that the Grounders betrayed them at Mt. Weather. Right now they don't see the grounders as people capable of real peace so they are following a man who is offering them survival at their own terms and not the Grounders. So I have no problem with most people not opposing Pike and also we don't exactly see how they are spinning the attack on the 300. I also think that it is not surprising that we aren't seeing many opposing Pike publicly. There are too many examples in human history of this happening for it to surprise me. Also remember the strict rules they lived under on the Arc. They have kind of been brought up to follow their leaders without question. I thnk Lexa not wanting to go after the Arkers right now is based on her hope for peace but I also think it is her belief in saving her people. I think Lexa did hear what Indra said about having to use guns to fight the Arkers. The Arkers don't have an unlimtited supply of weapons but they have enough to any attempt at attacking Arcadia very difficult. The Arkers in s3 are in a lot better position to fight the Grounders than they were in s2. They have a better supply of weapons from Mt. Weather along with motorized vehicles that can be deployed in fighting the Grounders. Being able to take vengence may not be possible for the Grounders at least without them using guns which is also against their traditions. So Lexa has a choice go against the tradition of blood must have blood or go against the tradition of Grounders not using guns. One has the hope for peace and the other will probably only lead to more violence and death even if they defeat the Arkers. Watching the ep again I wonder if Raven remembered Finn or not because she was so non-chalant about Jasper taking his ashes. Also regarding a previous post where it was asked what Abby's position is. She is the head of the medical department. The reason why the Jaha situation is referred to her is that Pike doesn't care what Jaha is doing as long as it doesn't interfere with his plans so it is up to Abby to see if there is any medical issues with what Jaha is doing. Seeing different theories about the 13th stations and the connection to the Grounders and specifically the Commander and can't decide what I think. I really want to keep an open mind and see how it is explained/plays out. I am intrigued with what Titus is up to and how this is going to play out with Murphy. Last thought but keep seeing jokes online about the number of candle for the scenes in Polis. I almost wonder if the 100 crew got candle budget that Arrow used last season or if them no longer going back to Namba Parbat meant they had a bunch of extra candles and just gave them to the 100.
  7. Those bastards! Dirty evil grounders! How dare they not be okay with people taking their lands? It is really awful for them to ambush people storming into their camp intent on killing them. A little bit of hypocracy going on this ep. Clark wanting her revenge was obvious. However it seems Monty forgot what he told Maya when she tried to justify the things the MM were doing to survive yet he is following Pike and his mom in these things for his people to survive. Like the reveal of where the name Polis came from. I wonder how this is all connected. It can't be a coincidence. I wonder if this is connected to the Nightbloods? Could they be descendants of the 13th station? Need to see the ep again to see what I missed on the first watch.
  8. I have been going over many things from this last episode again and I think the writers are very selective in their dialogue and don't waste it. The complaint that Lexa is just being blinded by her feelings for Clarke is one perspective but I think it shouldn't be ignored what Indra said right before Clarke came in. She tells Lexa that they will need to start using guns to fight the Skikru. We don't get a response from Lexa but I think that does factor into her decision. If she arms the grounders with guns that will have huge effects beyond just one war. Lexa was willing to betray Clarke and their alliance so that she could rescue her people in Mt Weather and not have anymore of her people die. So I can see her rationalizing forgoing a violent retribution that they may not win for peace. Though it will probably cost her greatly. I wonder if Pike is going to regret letting Jaha have a free reign in Arkadia. I really think Jaha is going to be causing a lot of trouble.
  9. Really good episode. Have enjoyed this season a lot. Thought it is frustrating now that I'm watching live not just being able to binge the whole season like I did with season one and two. I was wondering why they seemed to be lingering on the COL pill multiple times in the ep but then that got answered at the end with the grounders recognizing it and calling it the sacred signal. Have also seen on twitter that people say Lexa has a tattoo with the symbol as well. So it looks like all the storylines are starting to converge. Liked the Clarke/Bellamy confrontation. Not a fan of Bellamy's actions but his rant on Clarke was good not that I agree with everything. I just like showing some of what is going on in his head. Of course, his reason that the Grounders started this war is interesting since the Grounders could say the same thing. Raven joining the COL storyline has potential. Also glad that all the pain and suffering that seemed to piling up on her was building to something. Interesting that the Sky crew has rejected being the 13th clan and now Lexa is doing something that will probably be unpopular again. If there is a vote again to have her removed there might be no one to object now. I wonder how much of her decision is also because of her swearing fealty to Clarke and her people. Jaha is getting to the point of being scary crazy. Yeah Miller. Liked the callback to season one with his and Lincoln's interaction.
  10. Really enjoyed the episode. This season has started off really good. The show is definitely going big this year. Let's see the show introduces a bunch of young kids that Lexa is trainning with. How many episodes till the one that struck Lexa or the whole lot is massacred? The mortality rate of young kids on this show is pretty high. Something is telling me that Roan is working with Lexa. Why would she send him to get Clarke if she thought he might betray her and hurt Clarke. Maybe the initial plan was to really release him once he got Clarke and then he could work to take down the Ice Queen so that he would take over. However, once the IN crossed into trikru territory Lexa couldn't release Roan or it would look suspicious. I think Lexa does already suspect that the ambassadors are in league with the Ice Nation so she has to keep up the appearance that Roan is a prisoner. It was also suspicious that right after Clarke rejected Lexa's initial offer that Roan is suddenly visiting Clarke and able to get a knife to her. I think Lexa set that up so Clarke could have her break through and release some of her anger. Once Clarke realized she wasn't going to kill Lexa, Clarke's more rational side came through. Was not expecting MT Weather to be destroyed. It is a good thing Octavia didn't take her horse.
  11. Haven't commented on the show for a while. Had been casually watching it and skimming over storylines. Hadn't had need to comment but the last few weeks I have had a few things that I wanted to comment on. Lulu and Dante and that whole mess just seems more trouble than it is worth. Maybe if it was still JMB playing Lulu I might care more but haven't really cared about ER's Lulu with Dante. Haven't cared about Valerie and Dante sleeping with her was just aggravating. None of the characters have really had me invested even though I did pay more attention when Johnny was involved. He was at least entertaining. Jason/Liz/Sam needs to end. I like Sam and Liz mainly when they are in their own stories. However, whenever they are in the same story along with Jason I can't stand them. I have even liked BM's Jason. They just need to go their separate ways and Jake needs to go to therapy. The breastfeeding storyline is just mindnumbingly bad. Granted I did sort of perk up when they mentioned Olivia topless but then they kept talking and my mind went numb again. Kristina and Parker were kind of interesting. So Kristina has been using Parker's first name this whole time as she introduced herself to Alexis as Parker Forsyte. So that does seem like they did have a relationship where they were close enough that Kristina was comfortable using her professor's first name. So the wife is a doctor, who wants to bet if this becomes a bigger story the wife will get a job at GH? Surprised Parker automatically assumed it was Kristina who sent those bad reviews because as a guy, I think those reviews sounded like they were done by a guy. I don't think Kristina was actually trying to threaten Parker but trying to get her to slow down with the threats Parker were making about expelling her and let Parker realize that she didn't do those reviews. I also thought it was odd of Parker to be asking about the date of the wedding. I have some further thoughts on this story but I do need to see how this continues to play out.
  12. Yes Bellamy stop with the lone wolf stuff. You are not good at it. Things always seem to go awry. Yes people stop taking Jasper with you. Hopefully this cry/meltdown will start him getting over this. Yes to more Monty and more back story for him. Looks like our crew has more problems coming with the Ice Nation and the Farm Station. This season definitely is going to be a civil war in both the grounders and the sky crew. Please tell me there is an elevator in that tower. Lexa getting spit on by Clarke was interesting. I was surprised at Clarke's meltdown there. I guess it does show just how intense her feelings are about this whole situation and how much she seemed to be holding back till she finally confronted Lexa. Will be interesting to see where they go from here.
  13. Glad the show is back and the stakes have continued to rise. The walls are closing in around the pirates. War is definitely coming. Great introduction to Blackbeard. He is terrifying while still remaining in control. Jack having some playing music while he is on the can, don't ever change.
  14. The show has potential. It will take a bit to get all the cast to gel together. Still not warming to the Hawks yet. Need to see 2nd part to get a better idea on what type of show this will be. Definitely showing my age and my nerd here but every time I heard Captain Hunter I kept thinking of Robotech and Captain Rick Hunter.
  15. Funny bit of info that the writers tweeted. The actress playing Clarke's lover is Richard Harmon's (Murphy) sister. Apparently a cast member forced him to watch the love scene. Octavia has been annoying me since last year and this episode continued it but it also helped me figure out why. She's that person who just started something new whether it be a new religion, new diet, new greener lifestyle etc and suddenly it's her whole world. Anyone who doesn't agree with it or has different opnions are wrong. ETA: Agent Dark beat me to the info about the lover being Harmon's sister.
  16. That went by quick. I enjoyed the episode. This is a weird feeling as I watched the two seasons over the summer and now this is the first time watching the season live. Apparently Clarke has one move, moving the hand to the breast. Good move. She definitely needed some kind of moment of release. Of course, this is what you get for walking out on a girl in the middle of the night. Never would have thought this but Octavia and Jasper should go off together because they were really over dramatic. Jasper sorry about your girlfriend but get over it. Your girlfriend was part of a group that were going to massacre your friends. It came down to a decision of your girlfriend or your friends. Now Octavia giving grief to Lincoln is just idiotic. You were a trainee for a few weeks but you are giving Lincoln grief about not staying true to the Grounders. Seriously the guy choose you over his people knowing that he would not be able to return. He is trying to make the best of it. Give him a f'n break. Murphy/Jaha/Alie is a trip. There is so much not right about this. Murphy go with your first thought Jaha has gone way over the cuckoo's nest. Not sure what to think about the rest of the crew. Needing to see where they go in part 2. Also the use of music was a little distracting in this episode. Maybe it was just me? There was the group sing which was okay and the guy on the piano which also was okay but too noticable. But the music during the sex scene was way too noticiable.
  17. I think people are wanting more detailed explanation about things that Rey does but I do think the movie did provide explanations that are sufficient. I mentioned this in a previous post but Rey is able to block and then turn back Ren's mind reading because Ren became emotionally vulnerable. He is getting info easy from her but when he reads the part about Han, he becomes vulnerable. He stops the mind reading and his whole demeanor chances for a moment. His voice becomes different. He gives her time to recuperate and he never really gets back his advantage. He becomes visually more emotional and she starts taking breaths and calming herself. She is trying to push him out of her mind and as she is getting stronger emotionally and he is getting more vulnerable she is pushing him back to the point it goes into his mind. It isn't that she is trying to read his mind it is just by accident. We really don't know how much training Ren has gotten. Also he isn't being trained as a Sith. As far as it is known, he is being trained as a knight of Ren. We have no idea how this may differ from Jedi or Sith training. Regarding the fight with Finn, he is beating him easily. Finn is the aggressor at first and Ren is blocking all Finn's attacks. He even knocks Finn to the ground but has to break off the fight for a moment before he can finish off the fight. Ren stops going after Finn to hit his wound again because it is effecting him. Finn then gets back up and is able to take advantage and get a strike in. This fuels Ren's anger helping him to focus and then disarms Finn before striking him down. Rey's fighting skill with the lightsaber isn't very good. She looks like she is trying to fight with lightsaber like she would her staff. Rey at first is making odd strikes at Ren while somewhat blocking the occasional attacks. However most of the time she is running/backing away from him. As others have noted Ren doesn't seem intent on killing her instead trying to convince her to join him. Then once she allows that Force in she doesn't fight any better with the lightsaber but her strikes become stronger. Ren is having to block these strikes but this still takes a toll on him. He has to use energy to hold back the attacks. Regarding Rey resisting the dark side. The novelization doesn't say she resists it. She 'recoils' from the voice in her head. She is having dark thoughts and has a sudden moment of being disgusted by the thoughts however, we don't know what would have happened if she had a few more seconds to think. Even Anakin resists the initial pull of the dark side when Palpatine said to kill Dooku. If the ground doesn't split open the voice in her mind could have continued whispering and maybe convinced her to kill Ren. Also things can still get worse for Rey and push her to the dark side. We don't know why she was left on Jakku. There are still so much unknown about Rey that saying there is nothing that can happen to her that can push her to the darkside is a bit premature. If anything Star Wars has taught me things can always get worse.
  18. Also don't forget even if they are fighting and holding their own, they will have strategic pieces of clothing torn off ie Padme in AOTC. Listened to the We Hate Movies podcast on Attack of The Clones and they brought up that Padme in that seen looked like she was in a Britney Spears video. Which was appropriate for that time period.
  19. The episode was decent but did have some problems with its execution. It also hurt by seeming to try to put in too many messages in one episode. There was how girls need to stay active in learning in STEM classes. Girls/women need to not settle for less to appease others. Children shouldn't just settle for participation awards but actively try to be the best. Boys and girls need to look at each other as equals. Being too intent on looking for differences only helps in dividing people. The last one was kind of muddled at the end. Riley mentions to Maya towards the end that the guys are amazing and that they lost sight of that because of the whole guy/girl thing. The ep also seemed weird because after Farkle tells Riley he never wants to not help her learn/succeed and she seemed to be effected by this, then the next scene in the science class she is calling him a sexist pig. I also think she did need to apologize to Farkle. Agree with above poster that the ep would have worked better if it had been Lucas and Riley as partners or even Zay and Riley or Maya. I also think this could have been split into two episodes. The first one focusing on the girls learning/participating in STEM classes. Then the next episode have the girls go overboard like they did and have the lesson about the guy/girls getting in the way of seeing them as friends. And yes to the whole Farkle/Riley dynamic. Of the kids they have the best chemistry outside Riley/Maya.
  20. I have been surprised how much new things I see each time I see the movie. During the Rey/Ren interrogation scene, Ren shows how much of a weakness his father is to Ren. He is in her mind pulling out info with ease but lets up when Han Solo is brought up. When he says that Han would just disappoint Rey, he has his Ben voice. He stands up basically breaking the connection. He regains his composure and his voice changes back to his Ren voice but it is too late. I think Kylo made two mistakes in the interrogation scene first was taking off the mask and letting Rey see him as a real person with real feelings instead of a masked monster. Then by letting himself get unfocused because of his father, he gave Rey a chance to recover and also see that Ren did have weaknesses. Read the novelization and wish the movie had made it more clear about the map being a map to the Jedi temples but also I wish they used that version of R2 waking up. The novel has Rey letting Leia and the other know that the map was from the Empire's archive and that the FO had the other part. R2 wakes up hearing this because he has the other part as well since he has hacked into the empire's systems before. Speaking of R2, I realized why I liked BB8 so much. He is R2 from the OT. I think the prequels tried making R2 too cool with all his extra gadgets and silly gags. However R2 in the OT and BB8 here worked because despite being droids they had real emotions and because characters.

    The Star Wars Saga

Yeah Obi Wan probably wasn"t told the whole truth. In the novel, if I remember correctly, Palpatine covers for Anakin. Also at the end of the movie, Obi Wan doesn't kill a defenseless Anakin. The problem with Qui Gon is that we dont' see him in ROTS as a force ghost. In the novelization, he comes to Yoda as a force ghost and Yoda expresses some of his failures. The movie needed this scene. They set up Yoda is hearing Qui Gon's voice when he meditates in AOC and Yoda hears Qui Gon call out Anakin's name. I think the problem with the prequels was definitely not in how the story was outlined. When I read the novels for the prequels especially ROTS the story comes through. It just doesn't translate as clear on screen as it should. Like one of the big things that isn't made as clear is that the Separatists are almost all non-humanoid aliens while the Republic is mostly humanoid so that the non-humanoid aliens would be persecuted once the war was over which is why the Empire is human in the original trilogy and the non-humanoid aliens are on the outskirts of society.
  22. Watched the movie again. Unfortunately at a theater that hadn't been recently renovated so seating not as good but did have more of a selection on the 3D glasses so now I have the BB8 and Kylo Ren glasses. Something I did notice this time watching the movie is how Rey always seemed to breathe/calm herself first when Ren tries to get the info out of her and then when she does the mind trick on the trooper. I wonder if this is just based on what Maz said about letting the force in or could this be a hint that maybe she had some kind of training that she may not have remembered but just called up on instinct. Of course it could be just something she picked up in difficult situations as a scavenger. I do wonder how old Ben/Ren was when they sent him to train with Luke? It sounded like he had been having problems already and that was when they decided to send him to Luke. I am enjoying how creative people are getting with the EmoRen twitter and LonelyLuke twitter. Also on tumblr saw a post where they had a red carpet picture of Adam Driver looking down at BB8 and BB8 looking up at him and then they have close ups of their faces with the caption of BB8- I know what you did to Poe you Emo fuck.

    The Star Wars Saga

The only other movie was the WWII movie Red Tails. It was an decent movie and the aerial dogfights were good. Yeah his desire to direct hasn't really been there and basically he didn't really want to direct the prequels since he asked Speilberg, Ron Howard and apparenlty a couple of others to direct the movies. They turned him downed and encouraged Lucas to do it. He really has been more into the creative side and executive producing movies/tv shows.

    The Star Wars Saga

Okay, I have to say as someone who has watched each of the originals probably over a hundred times, I don't see TFA as a copy of ANH. They have similar beats, yes but so does PM. Regarding the prequels, I think PM was the biggest mistake of the trilogy. The whole story could have been exposition in a first movie where the main change would have been Anakin and Padme not meeting while he was just a boy. Have Anakin already being mentored by Obi-Wan. We needed more time with them being friends/partners. We needed more time with Anakin being a good guy so his fall would be greater. Also with a teenage Anakin you could have more time with him and Padme developing a real relationship. I do think that alot of things were left unsaid by the prequels that would have helped them. In the novelization of ROTS, Dooku is a hardcore speciest(?) he is for a Empire of Man(Human) which is why the Seperatists are all alien looking species. They were going to take the fall along with the Jedi which is why there is no aliens in the Empire during the OT. Also there was the issue of Grievous who was supposed to be intimidating but doesn't really come off it in the movie. Too much of Grievous is in either novels or the cartoons. If they had a movie that was just on the Clone Wars they could have not only done more for him but also really shown Anakin and Obi-Wan as the skilled Jedi that they are supposed to be.
  25. Have spent the last few days listening to podcast reviews and reading online reviews movie. There were a couple of points that I have seen that intrigued me. I listened to the WeHateMovies podcast and one of the points they brought up was in response to the criticism of Leia and Chewy not hugging or comforting each other when he gets back from the Starkiller mission. One of the commentators basically said that Chewy just walking by Leia makes sense in that Chewy can't face Leia after Han dies. He has too much guilt for not being able to help/save Han to be able to face her. You then see Chewy basically morning alone. I hadn't thought of that but it does make sense for both Chewy and Leia. They don't know how to help/comfort the other with this loss. Another podcast had critiqued that the story was filled with too many coincidences. They brought up the whole Poe/BB8's mission being on the same planet that Rey was on. They tried to say that it was comparable to the beginning of ANH where the droids end up with Luke but they then said it wasn't as bad since Leia was trying to get to Obi-Wan who was looking over Luke. It did make me think if this wasn't exactly the same. Max Von Sydow's character just happens to have the key to finding Luke Skywalker and just happens to be on the same planet to a girl who is force sensitive and has some connection to Luke. So could Max's character have been there specifically because of Rey? Of course it could just be a coincidence. Also another thing I had heard was why R2 turned on when he did. There were two running theories that I found interesting. One was that he didn't turn on till Rey arrived. The other was that we see Leia could feel when Han dies so Luke would have probably felt it as well. So Luke somehow through the Force was able to connect to R2 and get him to turn back on. As weird as that sounded I did wonder if maybe that scene during Rey's Force vision with Luke putting his metal hand on R2 had some significance to it. Was he doing some kind of mental bond with R2 so that when the time arose R2 could give them the clue to find him? Crazy thought I know but the thought just came to mind. Haven't had a problem with the Starkiller being a new Death Star as it's been less than 40 years since the first one was built in ANH and 30 since the one in RTOJ. Being able to destroy a planet does seem like the ultimate weapon so it has been become this universe's nuclear weapon. They are just trying to find ways to refine it and make it more explosive. They are making some adjustments. The original had an open trench that small crafts could fly, the second had an enclosed narrow shaft and this one had a trench that was closed and was only opened with ground troops blowing a hole in it. Also not bothered by the First Order supposedly being a copy of the Empire. The First Order is like Kylo Ren in that they are basically children trying to emulate the Empire. I noticed on the base that most of the officers look young. Like most of them were either not alive during the Empire or just little kids. So either they were born in families loyal to the Empire or were basically like neo-Nazis. And the stormtroopers are basically like any third world nation that has children armies. Really like the competitiveness between Hux and Ren. I wonder if this will continue into future movies. I do think Snoke is trying to pit one against the other. Regarding the suggestion of Snoke being a woman, I could see that. If it isn't a woman I do hope there is still someone behind the hologram and that Snoke isn't just what we see. I have seen the theory about him being Darth Pleigus which is something that could work really well or really suck.
