  1. From ET Online: (VIDEO) ‘Murphy Brown’ Bloopers! Candice Bergen and Jake McDorman’s Dog Co-Star Steals the Show
  2. It probably doesn’t matter a lot, since Aisha’s no longer a co-host, but the word “who’s” in her thread title should actually be “whose”. Just saying to any Mod who might be reading the thread.
  3. From ET Online: Carrie Ann Inaba Replaces Julie Chen on ‘The Talk’
  4. I’ve recently seen some episodes set during Murphy’s pregnancy on AntennaTV (like the 1 where Jim went with Murphy when she had her amniocentesis, or whatever prenatal test they performed back when Murphy was supposed to be pregnant that isn’t as risky as an amnio but gives the same info you look for in an amnio). She’s been calling him “my kid” since before he was born. I remember she also went on a “My kid’s a son?!” rant, when she found out the gender after the prenatal testing, because she was so sure she was having a girl.
  5. You can watch it on CBS.com or their app. Personally I think the app is easier.
  6. They’re running (at least part of the week) the breast cancer storyline, which also had a school-age Avery played by Haley Joel Osment, on AntennaTV. I caught 1 of the episodes recently—the 1 where Murphy went in for a biopsy or lumpectomy, & she was telling Avery she had to do that at the hospital the next day but she’d probably be back home by the time he got back from soccer practice. She also mentioned Frank &/or Corky to him, I think in some way to do with the procedure, & she didn’t use “Uncle” or “Aunt” in front of either of their names—just called them by their first names like Murphy would as an adult. I’m wondering why they decided to retcon it so Murphy’s old co-workers are called “Aunt” & “Uncle” by Avery (& Murphy, in referring to them around the now adult Avery) now (implying they were called that since he was a kid), when there’s evidence in the old episodes that school-age boy Avery apparently called Murphy’s co-workers & friends just by their first names, like Murphy did, with no honorific, like “Aunt” or “Uncle”, in front of their names. Maybe it’s another Diane English retcon from the era when she left the show, like Miles’ & Corky’s marriage & subsequent divorce. (Shrugs)
  7. Here’s an article from ET Online which talks about Prince Charles attending Former President Bush 41’s funeral as Her Majesty the Queen’s representative (I’m not sure if anyone attended representing Prime Minister May’s government or not). It includes a picture of him “being welcomed” by Vice-President & Mrs. Pence.
  8. I was happily surprised the Carters attended. A couple of days ago I read that he supposedly wasn’t going to attend because he was to be on a private trip somewhere, & she wasn’t going to attend because (like Queen Elizabeth II) Mrs. Carter has cut back on traveling in recent years (although Her Majesty’s travel cutback is primarily on overseas trips from England & Mrs. Carter seems to still participate in President Carter’s annual Habitat for Humanity work project/house build, wherever it is around the US), & because she’s reportedly still recuperating from recent intestinal surgery. It was sad (& shocking) to see how frail, & different Former Senator Bob Dole (Another celebrity I was privileged to meet, along with Former President Carter, along with his then 4-year-old daughter Amy, when he was Governor of Georgia) looked during his visit to Former President Bush’s casket. I get he’s 95, but I wonder what’s going on with his health that has him looking so gaunt now. He looked as if he has some sort of physical wasting issue happening; nothing like he previously did.
  9. Dan Quayle represented my district in the US House of Representatives before becoming the Junior US Senator from my State & the Vice-President. Honestly, he has all the personality of a potted plant in real life.
  10. From ET Online: Anthony Bourdain’s Friend Recalls How His Daughter Reacted to the News of Her Father’s Death
  11. For Early Risers/Other Interested People: All TV Networks Broadcast Schedule for the State Funeral of President George HW Bush (aka Bush 41) If you miss(ed) anything, the funeral & other connected events will probably be replayed on certain cable networks which have scheduled coverage. You can probably also find replays on the various network news apps & on YouTube (at least eventually).
  12. Related to the death of Former President Bush 41: https://twitter.com/jgm41/status/1069411159730790400?s=21 (PHOTO) https://globalnews.ca/video/4727578/george-h-w-bushs-loyal-service-dog-sully-visits-his-casket (VIDEO)
  13. From NBC News: Rarely Seen Bush Scrapbooks Show Love Story That Stood the Test of Time This is a kinda cool story. Many/maybe most people didn’t know (before now) that Mrs. Bush kept, & apparently put together herself, scrapbooks of every year of her life with Former President Bush 41, from their engagement through to their final years together. There are apparently 118 books in all, according to the linked article, stored in acid-free boxes in a temperature-controlled room at President Bush 41’s Presidential Library & Museum at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas (soon to be his final resting place). This is the story of those books. From The Hollywood Reporter: Actress Michele Carey, Who Co-Starred with John Wayne and Elvis, Dead at Age 75
  14. I live in the second-largest city in Indiana. We never did a Nielsen diary, but we did an Arbitron diary, I can’t remember if it was for a week or month, at least twice that I can remember.
  15. From NBC News: It Takes 133 Pages to Lay Out All the Procedures to Be Followed in Former President Bush’s State Funeral on Wednesday
  16. Barbara died in April; so it was only about 7 months between the deaths. It was still November 30th in Houston when he died (apparently around 10PM local, likely Central, time) though the announcement wasn’t broadcast on TV until around Midnight, Eastern time, which made the announcement date December 1st.
  17. From CBS News (VIDEO): Our Current President Is Sending Air Force One to Bring Former President Bush 41’s Remains to Washington Our current President has announced that, as soon as it’s “restored” (I think that’s the word he used in the video) from the current Argentina Summit trip, he’s sending Air Force One to Houston to pick up Former President Bush 41’s remains/casket & bring them/it back to DC for the various ceremonies & honors involved with a Presidential State Funeral (to be held at the National Cathedral on Wednesday). That’s a nice gesture, yes; but what I’m not sure our current President understands about it (which I’m pretty sure at least most people/everybody here knows), is even if the plane has Former President Bush 41’s remains &/or Former President Bush 43 (& Mrs. Bush) on it, &/or Former Presidents Carter, Clinton & Obama (the remaining living Former US Presidents), it will only be 1 of the 2 747’s in the Presidential fleet of aircraft. It won’t be Air Force One specifically (if that’s what our current President was aiming for—giving Former President Bush 41 a final ride on Air Force One). The callsign “Air Force One” is only used for aircraft which are carrying the current President, & the aircraft can be any type; not just the 747 everyone thinks of as “Air Force One”. Our current President came to my hometown the day before the midterms, to campaign for (mostly) the GOP candidates running for the US House & US Senate. He flew into our airport/local Air National Guard base (Home of the 122nd Tactical Fighter Wing), which share runways, on a smaller (but not Regional Jet-sized) aircraft type as Air Force One instead of the customary 747 (our airport can accommodate aircraft at least as big as an Airbus type).
  18. From CNN (VIDEO): President Bush 41’s Last Words—“I Love You, Too.” Apparently spoken in a speakerphone call with President Bush 43.
  19. It’s weird. For some reason President Bush 41 popped into my head earlier tonight; but earlier than in the timeframe between now & when MSNBC says they got word that he passed. I think I’d call that more a coincidence than a premonition about his passing or something else happening to him though.
  20. I just got an Apple News notification on my iPhone about it. MSNBC is reporting on it & says they got the news about 45 minutes ago.
  21. As I remember, ABC changed the title to just the initials GCB because they were getting complaints from people who thought the show would mock religion in the south, or who had other fears about a show originally titled, & based on a novel also titled, Good Christian Bitches. By the way, if anyone has forgotten, Emmy & Tony Winner Kristin Chenoweth was the star (or among the stars) of ABC’s 2011 version.
  22. I didn’t update the post, like I probably should’ve, but TV Guide (I think it was) said they’re filming his last episode this week.

  24. Sorry! Stupid Paywalls! If I find a better link I’ll repost the deleted content.
  25. From Variety: George Eads to Exit MacGyver on CBS It’s a breaking story as I type this. Nothing else is known/has been announced, apparently, except that he’s apparently leaving the show. UPDATE From TV Line: George apparently stormed off the show’s Atlanta set in early October, following an unspecified altercation, but returned days later. He’s also been asking to be released from his longterm contract with the show in order to return to Los Angeles, where his daughter lives. His last appearance on the show is expected to be in the second half of the current season, airing during 2019.
