Happy Sunday! After reading that news... Good riddance CIN! But I'm going to be seriously pissed if they get a HEA. The writers didn't care what JS/AS or the Ejami fans wanted when they left at the same time in '14 so the CIN fans shouldn't matter now. Still, I wouldn't put it past Days to have them sail off into the sunset w/their new baby as a nod to Bo & Hope. Till we get details on their exit though, I'm holding out hope that Ciara delivers a horned-head and hoofed-feet baby boy, Ben loses it, kills her, and he and demon baby are carted off to Bayview. That would be an appropriate ending. Curious if MM is leaving on her own (spend more time w/the new baby?) or her contract wasn't renewed? Anyone know the details? I don't mind MM nearly as much as KM who grates my every last nerve so if there's a brutal death scene I vote they get KM to film it. The next burning question--how does she die or who kills her? Freak accident or someone possessed by the devil?

100% on this. Swamp-baby should never have been resurrected in the first place as far as I was always concerned about that character. It made no sense to us viewers who watched Billie cradle a still-born baby for hours. Rolf's skills aren't that good.

You can say that again! Wishy-washy Allie is stunned that her boyfriend's ex-mob mother (who used to be obsessed with her boyfriend's father) is fucking with her cheating boyfriend and his side piece??? Worried is what she should be if Ava comes after her next. But stunned just makes Allie look dumber than she already is. I smell a scene filled with hypocritic indignation from Allie and Nicole coming, and it stinks pretty bad.

Chloe tells Brady the truth about her father. 1 Feb/ Tue Nancy is devastated by Craig's bombshell. Ben has a big surprise for Ciara. Julie is unnerved when Johnny pays her a visit. Steve and Kayla are happily reunited. 2 Feb/Wed Tripp shares his secret plans with Roman. Chanel inadvertently reveals the truth to TR. Paulina tries to talk Lani into leaving town. Gabi conspires with Johnny, who sows seeds of doubt about Jake. 3 Feb/Thu Johnny tricks Gabi into believing the worst about Jake. Orpheus-- Started shopping at Walmart for his clothes. He used to dress so well, but even out of jail in recent times he looks scraggly. Steve & Kayla--Props Abigail...or Ciara. I can stand when my one-time favorite duo kisses either of those princess's asses.

Having had real-life close friends in these positions, you've aptly described what is really at play. I completely agree that body type, personality, etc. that's not what has turned Craig to someone else if he is struggling with his sexuality/discovering that he has feelings and attraction to men. How the woman looks is inconsequential in this situation because it's not about that at all. A woman in this situation shouldn't question/doubt her attraction or self-worth. And I also agree, Craig loves Nancy, but he has romantic love for the new man that he doesn't or didn't feel with her. My gay friend once told me a very similar thing about his ex. Pretty much. It initially struck me too that Abs didn't seem very freighted about the situation she'd landed herself in, but then I remembered Kristin is her sister-in-law and she already knows she's bat-shit crazy. The Dimeras probably have a marriage orientation instead of marriage counseling with the church prior to the big day where someone sits you down and says, "Now marrying into this family means someone else in the family might abduct you, imprison you, drug you, or turn you into another person entirely. This is all normal so don't be alarmed. Feel free to use the wine cellar for your own abductions. We also have properties that you don't know about now, but someday you might discover. Godspeed!" -

Agree, knowing Kristin I'm surprised she hasn't knocked off a UPS driver and stolen his dolly to drag her "guests" around unconscious. That couch, my gawd. I was so distracted by it, trying to decide if this "deserted island" was really Hemingway's Key West home over-run by cats. It sure looked like something had been using it as a scratching post. Also loved the Fantasy Island line. 🍹 If only we'd had Tattoo announcing their arrival. -

Same here! I think TB is doing a great job this run. I hated Ava during her Steve obsession days and found her character very one dimensional "psychotic other woman" type, but now she's really developed the character into someone smart, devious, and entertaining to watch. I can't wait to see what she does to Rafe & Nicole next. Team Ava on this one for sure. That was great, Ava symbolically castrating Rafe in front of Nicole. -
My wish for EJ and Clyde as cellmates came true! Now he just needs to get Rafe out of the interrogation room and into a cell with Orpheus.

Before they begin the next exorcism, they'll all gather for a pep talk. John: "If at first you don't succeed, Eric, try, try, again." Marlena: "Amen." Sami: "Don't give up too easily, persistence pays off in the end." Belle: "You've got this, Eric!" Shawn: "Third time's a charm, man." Brady: "But if you screw this up three times, you're out."

Shawn tried to claim Rafe couldn't be a dirty cop because he was liked and respected and the DA replied something like "People who are loved, liked, and respected commit crimes all the time. Your sister is married to a serial killer, isn't she?" 😂 -
We can only hope it was sent to the FBI. 😀

I think they broke out the shovel sound effect but rock prop because I too thought it was a shovel when it was coming at her head but then they showed the rock on the ground. Unless Abs has a metal plate in her head, a rock should not have dinged like that. -

Yes, Ava was talking to Gwen when Abs appeared, and it didn't look like Ava ever ended the call so Gwen heard their whole conversation. Presumably Gwen wasn't far from the airfield, or she can move at lightning speed like the time Ava got from Statesville to Kayla's apartment to save Tripp's dick in the blink of an eye. Agree the transitions (editing?) are terrible some days. -
Given that about half the town has been injected with Rolf's mind-altering drugs at one time or another, I wouldn't worry about Sarah or Ab's mental states being any more screwed up than they already were. I hope not, but Dr. Brady-Johnson is on the way. Poor Kayla. Even when she takes an unscheduled vacation, she gets kidnapped, dropped on an island, and still can't get away from her job. 😲

Yeah, that's what I meant by their official announcement was vague and non-sensical. It doesn't add up. Even when networks change or shift focus, it's often more gradual as they weave in new shows that fit the change they are going for, while still keeping the ones that have established viewers. Kinda like testing the waters.

While I agree that an 18-year-old away from home and family for the first time being homesick isn't uncommon, I think the bigger concern and distinction here would be the surroundings and the coping options. If Katie was a college student, she'd have other co-eds in the dorms also in the same boat that could relate. She'd have choices when it came to the people she socialized with. (For example, you can join a different club; if you don't like your college roommate, you can switch at certain times; and if the school atmosphere just isn't a good fit, you can transfer at the end of the semester to a different university) but in Katie's world you can't associate with those outside your fundie world, you can't switch churches, and you certainly can't get a divorce. So if she did just marry into an abusive environment, there's little hope for getting out. Maybe even less now that the show won't be around to possibility shed some light or expose such conditions.

Late to the game but agree there is definitely something up (no pun intended) with that cancellation. I smell a stinky scandal brewing. No way does a network put that much money and resources into a season and then pull it right before it's due to air simply because of a focus shift in programming. If that was solely the case, BUB would have just been moved to a lesser time slot for the last season. If ratings were the issue, it would have never gotten renewed when they looked at the previous season's numbers, and there certainly wasn't a lack of content. This dropped season likely included 2 weddings, one Italy engagement, 2 pregnancies and gender announcements, 3 June births, and possibly even Erin's "miracle" baby. The network's announcement is both vague and non-sensical. It almost implies that the kids are older so the show has lost its origional focus. Except this isn't a sitcom where the teens and younger children actors/actresses are all grown up and the show is lacking in "cute" shots/scenes/smiles while losing their targeted family demographics. There was no last-ditch effort with Cousin Oliver that failed and now the only option is cancellation. 😁 This family will never run out of babies and children for the cameras. The Netflix special is a year or more out. Even if there's something new and particularly juicy in that about the Bates, UP has plenty of time to air/dump the last season and still get out relatively unscathed. I'm not really convinced it was the Floyd comment either. And the Insurrection was over a year ago. Unless the Bates boys had a bigger involvement and federal charges are about to come down on them, I'm leaning towards something that hasn't broke yet.

Until Days ruins my fantasy, I'm going to picture a tropical island with polar bears, sustenance in form of regular food drops, "security" disguised as mysterious natives, and a smoke-monster roaring in the distance all while Sarah, Abs, Steve, and Kayla sit on the beach, completely unaware there's modern housing development on the other side and a weekly book club they are missing out on. But hey the Melaswenites have got 2 doctors and Steve. It's the Salemites who should probably be worried about their fate. 😁

"Poor Duke" Two words that do not belong together. -
I agree. Hope via KA is not a character that can be recast successfully at this point. She made the character what it was and once that happens a recast is a huge uphill battle. It's like when Roman comes on my screen even after all these years I still see Chris Kosticheck. I've been saying this for months, but I honestly think the best writing resolution for Hope is to say that she took a case, per Shane, and is undercover with the ISA somewhere. It makes sense and is far less ridiculous than her being stranded in an African airport every time she's due to come back, especially since Theo seems to fly in and out just fine. And if they manage to get KA back for a short stint, well then she can just say the case is still on-going but she got some time off. THESE! You aptly described how I see NuEJ, another character who I could never accept as a recast, but yet here we are and it's not the same. Maybe he could have worked as Andrew Donovan though, I've never understood why Andrew has never been brought on screen. So many possibilities there as a legacy character and yet a blank slate to work with for an actor to make the character his. But I also wholeheartedly agree we need new characters too that actors/actresses can make their own. Stephen Nichols is a perfect sucess story of this. Steve had no family ties to Salem when he showed up, only an old estranged friendship with Bo. And yet his chemistry with so many of the actresses and actors he worked with made the character so integral to Salem and then down the road created a new family in town.

Maybe Steve and Kayla will find Zack on Melaswen 2.0.
