Agree, that's been refreshing. I was wondering though if the extras were real extras or simply crew members playing those roles? While I know Covid restrictions played a factor in some of the seclusion, I also got the impression some of it was budget related, happening even before the pandemic. Marlena was around back then. Showed up in town years before Renee and didn't "die" till after Renee. But I noticed too that Saranee didn't seem to know of her. I figured it was Ron owning stock in one of the internet search engines. Surely there's been a lot of "googles" for Renee Dumonde, Alex Marshall, Don Craig, and now Gwen Davies for the newer viewers and even memory refreshers for the older ones. 😁

I generally don't have a problem with Gwen. She can fuck with Abs and Chad and Jack and Maggie and Zander all she wants, but putting us viewers through more of this Saranee shit? Oh hell, the girl has gotta pay. 😁 Till then I'll hold out hope that she only messed with the reverse serum to the point that it didn't return Sara to the old Sara, but at least eliminated Saranee by rescrambling her brain again. Let her be Saralena for a while and go bug John. Or Sarami and go bug EJ. Oh, wait, I bet Ciara has a diary stashed somewhere of her epic love for Ben.

Looked to me like Belle didn't arrive at the Salem Inn in time so I don't know why Belle assumes she did. Guess that's why there's a saying that assuming makes an ass out of you and me, in this case Belle and Shawn, though Jan's bump looks bigger than 3 months. Maybe she had a coma visitor.

My hubs just posed a very good question--if Kayla got fired for not firing Marlena, how is Craig going to keep the Chief of Staff position if he's being manipulated by Nancy to not fire her.

I like Paulina. I think she's a fun character. I'll admit, I wish they'd show her a little more skeptical of TR, but I can also see where she wants to believe TR has changed. What bugs me about this storyline is that Ron showed TR's hand to the audience too soon. He missed a good opportunity for suspense and engagement if the viewers were trying to figure out if he had changed or not, if the viewers didn't know for certain that TR was Eli's shooter, and if the viewers didn't know TR's true intentions. But we know TR's still a drug user, abuser, manipulator, and Eli's shooter. We know he doesn't really want to make amends with Paulina; he wants her money. Ron really sucks at crafting a good story even when he has plenty of pieces to make it work. As usual, he started off with potential and ruined it on the execution.

If Ron didn't nix it from the schedule, we might end up getting it the day after Easter, based on the Olympic preemptions which has the show 2 weeks and 1 day behind.

This is just laughable. "Are you kidding me? How could you get pregnant off that?" It sounds like Shawn doesn't have a very high opinion of his own wee-wee. Also, pretty sure if I found my husband in bed with my worst enemy, devil made him do it or not, I'd want to be very clear exactly how close his trouser snake, tiny worm or not, got to her garden.

And Chad is definitely not that person. I don't know about that. Orpheus is definitely way smarter than all the Dimeras combined. They can't even figure out that the devil walks among them. Literally. And right now, Tony can't handle a brain scrambled female half his size. Orpheus could probably don a wig, claim he's Renee from 1983, and Tony would move in with him.

Forget Chad or Zander visiting Rolf for the reverse serum for Saranee, Tony needs to go asap and ask Wilheim to reattach his balls for him. This playing into Sara's delusions is not a good look for Tony. Has he not heard that Marlena is accepting new patients?

While admittedly he wouldn't be my first choice as a houseguest or babysitter, Clyde is quite possibly the least of Ciara's worries. The devil is after her baby, there's an upside-down cross hanging outside their door, and in over three months her mother still hasn't gotten a flight home from Africa.

Agree about Roman/Josh. I wish they'd make a reveal some day that he's really a Kosticheck and the Roman thing was just a Dimera hoax. They could even say Orpheus knew this all along which would explain why he never goes after him. Re: Rachel...they lightly SORASed her the last time we saw her when Kristin tried to kidnap her from Marlena's at bedtime. She looked about 6-8 then.

I liked PS as Renee too, and it's too bad they didn't bring her back when they still could. I'm generally not a viewer in favor of recasts, but in this instance, it's been so long that I think it could have worked with the right actress. They could have still played the old flashbacks as the "young Renee" as a tribute. Treating it like how movies/TV shows have different actors to play a younger version of a character.

Good assessment. I loathed the Abby affair. What a waste of AS/JS's last year on the show. I liked the Kate/Sami "friendship"/partners in crime though. That was probably the one good thing to come out of that storyline, though the show doesn't seem to embrace it now. Kate's too busy with Chad, I guess. I liked the time EJ & Sami teamed up to hire a hitman to kill Nick. Partner in crime things like that worked well with them, things they schemed together on. Alex Marshall and Emma Donovan were good co-schemers too, though there was no romance there, which was fine. The actors still played well together.

I'm willing to give Days a little bit of a pass on the kids in the last few years because I'm pretty sure Covid concerns kept them off set for a while. But at the same time, it is ridiculous that Holly and Parker are practically invisible. I would totally be down with a SORASed Holly and Arianna as mouthy early teen troublemaking friends who give their parents grief. Personally, the last time we saw Arianna I thought she did come off as a spoiled brat. I think there'd be plenty of material to work with, like Holly's mixed feelings about Eric and her dad as well as Nicole and Rafe's relationship. Maybe this time around, Rafe isn't the dream step-daddy like how Allie sees him. Especially if Holly gets in trouble with the police. Speaking of Allie, maybe Holly totally resents having to share a room with a toddler. I think there's many opportunities for teen angst. Then add in Parker, Holly's half-brother, correct? Surely he has some issues with what happened to his dad and the fact that his mom dumped him in a boarding school to pal around Salem with her ex-husband. I don't understand why Ron didn't just recast the actual character of Renee if he wanted to "bring her back" so badly. This story might work better (would certainly have less plot holes) if the real Renee was saved by the great powers of Dr. Rolf but held on an island recuperating for the last forty years. Then Tony's conflicted feelings would make sense. And she would be a legit Dimera who now had a say/control in the company, house, etc. That could fuel both a storyline with Tony and Ana, but also EJ, Chad, etc.

Many good points above, but this one sums it all up perfectly! You've nailed it! It would be nice to get a few wisecracks from old Vic about Saranee. Bonus points if what he says opens Tony's eyes. I always though the show missed opportunities for this w/Sami & EJ (JS) over the years. In the instances when we got them as partners in crime, it was a good fit for them, and I especially enjoyed it. I always thought it made more sense that they teamed up together since he was a Dimera and she's the troublemaker black sheep of the precious Bradys. But instead the show seemed more focused on relationship drama. They seem to be going the same route with Gwen & Xander sadly. But it's more fun when you have a pair that embraces their badness together for the same cause, a force to be reckoned with type.

Agree. It looked like she put on way too much foundation and lipstick, and then cut her hair in the dark. It was as distracting as NuSonny's porn stash that I want to shave off so badly. Also why was Abs wearing a heavy winter coat in the house today? I had to stop and calculate if MM could be hiding another pregnancy since the last time she wore that coat day in and day out, she was about to give birth in real life. She actually ditched the scarf/band thingy, but she cut her hair. My hubs called it "really bad layers" when he saw it. Funny thing is, I was just thinking the other week that Abby needed a new do (like not so flat and stringy since it's not the 70s anymore), but this new cut wasn't it. Maybe she realized it wasn't flattering either, smattered on a whole bag of make-up, and hoped everyone would be distracted by her lips. Ditto here too. And since he blew off Marlena's experience, may Craig get a visit from the devil before he rolls out of town.

I'll be happy to just get some Rolf scenes and his "observations" on Saranee. I kinda hope he says something like (in his accent), "I wasn't going to help, but five minutes with that annoying fruitcake and I'm in." LOL Actually, Rolf should do it in exchange for the Chief of Staff position.

I guess we are supposed to believe that Renee has the DiMera phone number written all over her diary...with doodles and hearts??? And that the DiMera estate was paying the phone bill during the years (like most of the rest of the '80s) when no one was living at the DiMera mansion and using the phone??? Incidentally, if I was Ana, I'd have hung up on her.

I'm surprised Ron hasn't hooked up Clyde and Bonnie just so he could make the Bonnie & Clyde joke.
