  1. I am kind of interested in the show, simply because I love mysteries. I was wondering if they ever actually gave serious thought to HOW could it be possible to dig these tunnels, if these guys have been unable to go down to the bottom for the last 20 years? My thought was to investigate it from the aspect of IF people from the 1600's were digging these tunnels that fill with water, HOW is it remotely possible, with the given technology for the time period? I cannot for the life of me, understand how it is possible (ruling out Ancient Aliens of course!). If they could bring forth a reasonable way that it really could be done, then I might be more likely to believe that it is possible that there is some type of man made tunnel (perhaps).
  2. I am probably the only one, but I like this show A LOT. But, it is because I am waiting for the moment that I finally land a job in my field so that I can slap my husband with the divorce papers he so rightly deserves. The built up anger and hostility from the last 18 years is smack on with JG's character. I relate. For the average viewer that holds no interest, for me, it allows me the chance for some vicarious catharsis. JG's character and all the awful things she does to her ex, I only wish that I could do to mine. Again, this probably is not interesting viewing for 99.9% of the people watching, but for me, the anger and bitterness is very true to life for some of us.
  3. So bloody weak. Most of the actors could not squeeze out a tear if their lives depended on it. The actress playing Ellie was also so flat. I mean I get the anger, but even that was muted. I know a lot of people hated The Killing, but I really think that they showed what grief and angst is when someone is suddenly murdered.
  4. Oh sorry, I didn't mean offense in the way you illustrated it. I didn't think that I implied that the baby shouldn't live IF he/she has issues or that having a disabled child is the worst thing in the world, but more that she might be causing developmental issues that might not occur were it not for HER actions. As a character on the show, I think that she doesn't appear to want the baby and perhaps her actions are purposeful and indicative of that, but she is also in a profound state of grief and likely depressed and just found out her husband is cheating on her. I am uncertain that she could make a really good decision about much right now. I have edited the original for clarity.
  5. One thing that has been driving me nuts is that Beth has been drinking on multiple occasions since finding out she was pregnant. I suppose, it could be a passive aggressive attempt to kill the child because she 1) may not want it and 2) is in too much grief to think clearly anyway (especially because Mark told her that she has to have it). I do an entire section on teratogens in the embryo and fetal stage for my classes that I teach and research shows us that there is no known safe amount, especially in the early stages like this. So many developing systems could be at risk. I don't know if it is sloppy writing, or a purposeful thing on the part of the character. I know that I always notice it and I cannot remember in the original if that were the case.
  6. I think Peter is in love with Ramona. The way he caressed her face said a lot to me. We never saw that with any hookers. In this day and age, WHY stay together? To keep the lie? That's is very truthful of you Alicia. So very honorable. It is her way of punishing him. You have totally sold out to the political machine, no real honesty there. No one would begrudge Alicia for dumping him. Obviously Peter doesn't care anymore either. He has moved on. He KNOWS about Will. Does Alicia think that didn't hurt him in some way too? Peter as much as said that Will was in-between them their whole marriage. As much as I dislike the cheating, it goes both ways and Alicia cannot look herself in the mirror and act like the hurt victim anymore, because she has also broken her vows. And just because she was in love with Will, does not change anything. What if Peter says that he is in love with Ramona all those years ago and he STAYED out of the commitment to the marriage and to her? Would she view it the same way as she views her relationship with Will? Probably not, but it is practically the same.
  7. This is not a spolier, but the ONLY way this show ends IMO, is in the final moments of the series, Cullen has to die. They have been setting up this arc for a very long time. That way he can be reunited with all of the people that actually meant something to him. It has only been through death that he learns about love. I think Ruth's talk with him really solidified that and (as the previews already alluded), he is going to REALLY pay (just like during the war) for not being there.
  8. Thanks for that heads-up. I think I will check it out! Hope to see some of you all in that forum.
  9. I have a bad, bad feeling about Kalinda's ultimate end. Not spoilered here, but I think that she is going to kill Bishop perhaps to save Lana or Cary, or both. Technically, Bishop is a cancer that for any semblance of ethics for the firm, this guy needs to go, He is too big, and too obvious about his crimes. EVERYONE knows who he is. How can Alicia state with a straight face that she has no knowledge of any criminal activities? She KNOWS that he is a criminal. For THAT alone, I would not vote for her for SA. I think some voters might feel a similar way. The ONLY way to get him out, is if he is dead. Solves a multitude of problems. Kalinda has been strongly linked to having done bad things before, so that isn't a stretch. I think that she will kill him and disappear into the night. She seems really happy with Lana, but she may be doing this strictly for intel, so it is hard to say. Maybe she and Lana will disappear into the night together?
  10. I don't like to look at those bloody scenes, so I just look away for a second. But, I am like that no matter the show, so it is not the show, but me. The thing that strikes me is that during most other times periods, life and death was a much more common experience for people. It was in your face, so to speak. The wild west, was a mere 150+ years ago. It is astounding how far we have come in the last 150 years. No matter when the show ends (I have quite enjoyed it despite some thematic issues), I know that I will miss Cullen's eyes. I wish that he would go and be with his wife and child. I think that he could be happy there and have a somewhat normal and loving life with her. I do think that she wants to love him and be with him. Naomi seemed so much lighter and happier there. It is unfortunate that Cullen cannot forgive himself enough to allow that to happen. The baby is really cute.
  11. Much like the Topes, we were too lazy to get organized to get one documented! Although, people did make casual comments about when they thought it would be cancelled.
  12. Yes. If you see some of the websites about ShadyChef, people have taken real offense to his lies about his military service and have analyzed his every utterance to disprove his constant lies about his military background. They have even sourced his Facebook and other public information about him and cross-referenced it. He has pissed off a lot of veterans and military families (not that I blame them at all).
  13. Yup, it's been great. But I have seen some of you on Survivor, Top Chef, Good Wife, Hell on Wheels, Bates Motel, Gracepoint, Amazing Race, so we are still around! Just hoping that the animals go to a good home.
  14. Yup, it has been great chatting with you all. But I am glad, because the horrible actions of some of the Topes made it impossible to like the show.
  15. As a native New Englander, I would LOVE it if they made the chefs have to use the classic red hot dogs (if you boil them, they make the water pink!) that we get in Maine and other places in the north. I love them! I would also love for them to do a spin on the classic New England "boiled" dinner. I love that so much and make it several times a year.
  16. An article from The Guardian about why no one is watching the show. Some of the comments on this site indicate that people really have no clue about the "real" Utopia and the live feeds. http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2014/oct/31/why-isnt-anyone-watching-utopia-real-reality-show
  17. So pissed that Taylor admitted hitting/slapping Honey. What an utter f'in loser. Amanda should be worried what these one's will do to the baby if it crys too much. For real. Does she REALLY think that one of them wouldn't shake the baby? You hear about it all the time on the local news. If they think that the cows are a frustration, wait until the baby cries on and off all day (like mine did). It can frustrate even the most level-headed person. I want to start tweeting Kroll again about this, but he probably has blocked me. Seriously, why are none of the Tops upset about admission of hurting the animals/ I wish I knew what Red thinks about it. I don't think any of them have any spine and are willing to stand up for what is right. This show is a complete sham.
  18. Seriously. There is no one left in the whole of the US that they can find to be in this show that is mostly normal and has some skills? The producers should ALL be fired. I no longer blame the cast, this is production's fault 100%. The stuff that one of the new guys is saying is just so off-the-mark, I don't even get what they are thinking when they pick these people. Obviously, they picked Cal as their Christ-like savior that has actual commune experience and that is not panning out because he is a cultish, sexually inappropriate, misogynist, racist! This show is officially lost. Cancellation cannot come soon enough. Plus they never show the animals hardly at all and that is sort-of a positive.
  19. You are so right. OMFG. Not only are most of the TOPES there for the wrong reasons, now it is more than obvious that PRODUCTION has no idea what this show should be either. I blame Kroll. Seems he wants to be a bigger star than the show. I think Survivor does a better job with their premise. Probably from IKEA or Target to get that all important commercial tie-in.
  20. And without the Charisma. Which is really saying something.
  21. As an Agnostic, I don't know why she just doesn't say, separation of church and state! That whatever she believes in will be private and separate from doing her JOB! I guess that is too simple though and taken by religious people as non-believing and "No vote for you!"
  22. WHAT? No friggin' way!? :) Just took some more blood pressure medication! Who could have predicted the mass amount of quitters on one show alone? Even Survivor hasn't had this many people quit in a single season. Wow, unbelievable. All those who said that Cal had an agenda, was right.
  23. In my view, this is Grace's questioning of her own spiritual path. In many Christian faiths, "visiting" or reaching out to the "unsaved" is a vital part of the message. If a person makes the tiniest move towards the faith, it is seen as a positive, because you never know when the words may come through to a person and then they make the move to change. Plus for some religions, they are just the conduit for God, God is the one who moves the person, NOT them. But they must get the Word out, so that the person has been given the opportunity to hear the Word. I see Grace as starting to doubt her own viewpoint. I think that would actually be interesting. I think that she was reacting as if she realized that she was being hypocritical. I feel bad for Cary. This was supposed to be Alicia and him. It is LG all over again.
  24. I'll go for function-table saw. I really wanted to give him the food, but making money and ease in helping to do his job is a reward that will continue forward. The night of feasting, lasts only that long and they have been getting food from the trucks.
